The Chronicles of Narnia: The Middle

Prince Caspian nodded slightly, surprised somewhat but then again realizing that they were very close friends at appearance, no doubt in friendship as well. He sighed, "one minute she wants to know my name...the next she is condemning me because of it..." he said softly continuing, "one moment she wants to talk and is rather nice...the next she is tense and almost seemingly angered by me or something..."

 

Elizabeth smiled softly and nodded. "Yep, that's Alex." she stated, "She's just very passionate about things and right away we were told that someone was oppressing someone else. I would have actually been surprised if she'd been as polite to you as she was to Trufflehunter." she paused, kicking a pebble into the fire. "I hope you aren't too worried about it though."

 

Prince Caspian sighed, "I just don't want there to be hostilities between any of us...I can tell we will all become great friends if we just let it happen that way..." he said throwing the last bit of wood into the fire. He picked up his cloak and gently put it around Elizabeth, "maybe you can use it as a blanket considering everyone else didn't seem to mind..."

 

Elizabeth held the cloak around herself. "Thank you." she said, earnstly. "I'm sure we'll all be good friends too, it will probably take alittle more than one day and two people for everyone to be completly sure, is all. But it will all be fine soon." she watched the fire, queitly, until she started to nod off to sleep.

 

Prince Caspian nodded softly, and let a small smile cross his lips seeing her start to nod off, "don't worry...if sleep calls you...you may..." he said gently. "I most likely will just stay up tending to the fire until it goes out and then watch over the camp..."

 

Elizabeth yawned and covered her mouth, "Hm, don't you need to sleep too?" she asked, sleepily. "Why do you need to watch over the camp?" she thought maybe he expectedn something to attack them but wasn't sure what.

 

Prince Caspian laughed softly, shaking his head, "no no...of course I need sleep...its just lately I haven't been able to get to sleep...way too much on my mind..." he sighed. He leaned back slightly looking up at the night sky through the trees, "you will find Narnia to actually be safest among the forests..."

 

"What kinds of things are on your mind?" Elizabeth asked, looking at him curiously, "It's supposed to help to talk about things that bother you, I think." she sat up a little bit to ward off sleep for the moment.

 

Prince Caspian shook his head softly, "no no...its quite alright...I can tell its been a very unusual and big day for you Elizabeth...just try to get some rest ok?" he said giving her a reassuring smile. "And I shall greet you tomorrow along with the morning..."

 

Elizabeth shrugged. "Okay, well if you want to talk, I'm fine with listening. Even if I do fall asleep." she gave him a quick smile and then moved alittle in her seat to be more comfortable sleeping. "I hope you fall asleep at some point."

 

Prince Caspian nodded, leaning back some more on his arms, "I'm sure I will...when I eventually pass out..." he laughed softly. "As much as I want to...I never seem able to...but when I don't think about it...easier than could be believed...."

 

"Too bad Alex isn't awake." Elizabeth mused, already falling asleep. "She has a really pretty voice. It's easy to fall asleep to her singing." she sighed. "Have you ever tried counting sheep... that's never helped me but I've heard it works."

 

Alexandria murmured Luke's name in her sleep, falling onto her side and taking her brother with her.

 

William grumbled and opened his eyes to find himself lying on his side awkwardly. He rolled his eyes, still half-asleep and look over to see that Ezliabeth and Caspian were still awake. "Hey, aren't you two going to sleep?" He mumbled.

 

Prince noticed Alexandria murmur Luke's name, "seems she must find comfort in him..." he spoke softly before realizing William was speaking to himself and Elizabeth. "Oh my...forgive me if I woke you...we were just sitting here talking about that actually..." he laughed quietly to himself, "by the looks of Elizabeth...she will be soon..."

 

Elizabeth bit back a laugh at how the twins looked, fallen over. "We'll be quiet so you can go back to sleep, Will." she said, grinning at him. "At least Alex didn't wake up. I swear she can sleep through anything"

 

Luke smiled, feeling a little bit of triumph over Caspian. He reached over and touched a stand of Alex's hair. "Yes, she's a stubborn one," he muttered with a laugh.

 

William smiled. "It's okay. The way Alex talks in her sleep, it's hard to get any rest near her."

 

"Luke, the Narnians..." Alex murmured, grabbing onto William's vest.

 

William sat up, gently prying his sister's fingers off his vest. "She's scared..." He said quietly. "She usually throws the covers off in her sleep, not reach out for something to hold."
