"We should find out the whole story before making black-and-white decisions," William interjected.

 

Elizabeth shook her head as the two went back and forth. She didn't intervine but instead turned her attention to what was around them and thinking over what Caspian had told them so far.

 

Luke laughed at Alex. "Okay," he sighed. "You're right... they're... dictators..."

 

Alexandria smiled sweetly at Luke. "Thanks."

 

Elizabeth laughed quietly to herself, finding it funny how quickly they got over the spat. "I hope you don't take offense to being called a dictator." she commented to Caspian

 

"I'm not yet the ruler," Caspian said simply.

 

Elizabeth nodded, "That's good..." she smiled off towards the city.

BIC: "So can I go to school with you?" Luke asked suddenly, looking at Caspian. "Want to know my area of study I'm interested in?"

 

"I wouldn't be the one you'd be going to school with," Caspian said to Luke. "We're of different classes."

Alexandria squeezed William's hand as a way to convene her irritation. But a thought came to her: if she went to school as Caspian did, she might be able to learn about the Narnians just like Caspian had.

 

Elizabeth frowned slightly at Luke's question. He must be kidding. We'll have to go home eventually... "What kind of classes would we all take?" she asked, curious despite her thoughts.

 

Caspian shrugged. "I wouldn't know exactly."

Alexandria rolled her eyes. He's not very knowledgeable.

 

"Anything here seems better than schooling where we're from," Luke thought aloud. "Why bother with all the things we don't like?"

 

"Because they might be helpful in the future," Alexandria answered, looking to her twin for help. When William just gave a shrug, Alexandria sighed. Maybe I should just let them do what they want. I am doing what I want, after all.

 

Luke raised his eyes. "You know what makes you happy, right?" he demanded suddenly, looking at Alex. "You know what you want to do in life, or at least an idea of your goals... then why shouldn't you be schooled toward that direction. Like... if I want to do math, why do I have to write English papers? It makes no sense..."

 

"Just because you don't understand it, Luke, doesnt' mean there isn't logic behind it. In fact, your not understanding it pretty much garentees that there is very good logic behind it." Elizabeth smiled brightly at him, teasing.

 

"Because," Alexandria extened the word in a sarcastic tone. "If you don't know proper English, how are you going to write the paper that, hypothetically, describes your new find in the math feild? And if you don't know proper English, how are you going to have a decent conversation with anyone?"

 

"Oh, Alex," Luke sighed, reaching over and pinching Elizabeth on the arm in response to her teasing. "You of all people should know of my extraordinary talent with words..."

 

"Put a cork in it, Luke," William said in a low voice.

BIC: Alexandria glanced at her twin, wondering what had put him in such a bad mood.

 

Elizabeth smacked Luke's hand. "Ow." she rubbed her arm where he'd pinched her arm. She also looked over at Will, startled by his tone.
