"Uh oh," Luke began, mock-seriousness on his face. "I sense... grumpiness again!"

 

"I'm not-!" William realized his tone and composed himself. "I'm just... I don't know. But I'm not grumpy."

 

"Alright," Luke agreed, slightly understanding. "I'd better let off you before Alex tries to beat me for teasing."

 

"Wise choice," Alexandria dropped her ready fist.

 

"Though we all know I could beat you," Luke added quickly, unable to help himself.

 

"That's a load of bullocks," Alexandria muttered back. "I'd beat you fair and square any day." She paused. "When I don't have an empty stomach."

 

"What a cop-out," Luke teased, and then stepped close to Alex and whispered in her ear: "We both know you just enjoy wrestling with me too much for your own good."

 

"You shouldn't lie," Alex replied cooly. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw William raise an eyebrow.

 

Elizabeth smiled to herself, glad that the tension was gone for the moment. She began half listening to the others as she looked up at the impressive structures almost above them now.

 

"Just give it time, Alex," Luke laughed, backing away from her and starting to walk again. "You'll realize the truth!"

 

"Stop deluding yourself," Alex fired back.

 

"Calm down, Alex," William laughed. "He's just pushing your buttons."

 

"Smart man," Luke commented at William. "I agree there..."

 

"Remember Luke is Luke," William said to his twin but looked at Luke. "He's a bit crazy."

 

"And your buttons are easier to push when your stomach is empty." Elizabeth added, pulling herself away from looking at the buildings and back to her friends.

 

"I don't do well on an empty stomach!" Alex cried in self-defense.

 

"That's right; you're brain is fulled by your stomach," William joked.

 

Elizabeth laughed. "It's okay, Alex. It's not a bad thing." she assured her, putting a hand on Alex's shoulder. "But see what I mean?" she couldn't help giggling.

 

"Um... no," Alex shrugged.

 

"I see!" Luke replied happily. "Hey, what kind of food do you have here?" he asked Caspian. "Something good, I hope, like a cheeseburger!"
