The Cold Consumes All

Jason would of flown backwards but this guy didn't let go of his hand, so instead he fell to his knees. He felt blood pour down the corner of his mouth. His arm hurt so much to the point where he wished to scream, but he stopped himself by bitting down on his lips. To free himself of Vincent's hold and to injure him at the same time spikes grew from Jason's hand and arm.

 

"Tsk tsk.." Alex said, approaching the fight, looking from Jason to Vincent. "And here I thought that you were reliable. Meanwhile, you're toying around with your prey... Tell you what Spot. How about you back off and let the big boys take care of this one eh? I'm sure mommy misses her little lap dog." It spoke, that same irritating grin forming across its face as if it had something to be proud of, as it began to advance specifically towards Jason.

 

Vincent winced as spikes dug into his hand. Wrapping his other hand around Jason's throat, he suffered the pain in his hand, "You don't stop that and I swear I'll choke the life outta you." he squeezed lightly, showing no mercy for the shapeshifter. Holding his wrist, he clenched it tighter, ignoring the spikes completely and fracturing Jason's wrist. He was sure his screams could be heard all the way back to Olive. Vincent's blood was a golden color, as was all Seraphim angels' blood. Near his heart it was normal looking, but for now his blood wouldn't be noticable.

EDIT: Vincent looked back at Alex, "Why aren't you with Olive? You left her unprotected?!" His hand was already impailed on Jason's wrist, he might as well drag the shapshifter with him, "I'm bringing him with me if I'm going anywhere. I'm surrounded my idiots." He chose to ignore Alex's remarks about him being a dog and the name 'Spot'.

 

Jason could feel his air passages being crushed and to make matters worse the other Ink member was heading towards them. Then they started acting like he was s ome object and began fighting over who gets to take care of them. But this did give him the chance to get free. His neck grew until it was like a metal collar around it, so when Vincent tried to drag him his hand slipped off of it and the spikes went back into his skin and he managed to free his wrist. In this same moment he stood, turned, and ran into the alleyway behind him. Hopefully the one who injured him was too worried about his partner to follow, leaving only Alex to chase after him.


Like glass Olive's shield began to break. To protect everyone she strengthened the parts that were above them, but did this by weakening the parts above herself. She heard a large piece of the building fall directly behind her, but tried to ignore it. But then only part of her shield broke and a piece of the building fell to the ground. And someone was standing in-between it and the street and were crushed insantly. "No!" She called out and began to shake.

 

Vincent cursed and shook his hand, sending golden blood splattering along the street, "Alex go after him! Since you've left Olive by herself, I need to make sure she's okay." He dashed off back toward Olive. Olive hang in there! he frantically thought. Seeing her shield breaking, he pulled off his long white trench coat and let his long wings unfurl. "Olive!" Quickly, Vincent pulled people out of the way of the falling building and covered Olive with his wings, the massive white feathers as hard as steel, preventing any of the building to fall on her.

 

Awya didn't hestitate and ran as fast as her little legs would take her in the same direction as him. "It's no problem, I like the excitement. Though may I ask why we're getting out of here?" She said as she ran. She kind of wished she could get her wings out and fly to be faster, but she decided that wouldn't be the best idea. She grinned, even more questions were going round her head about Mattew but she ignored them for now and concntrated on getting away from whatever it was.

Finding everyone, inculding herself, now safe Olive releashed her shield and everything fell to the ground. When she was sure nothing was left to fall she opened her eyes and looked around. She was shaking still and stared at the rubble around them. "Thank you..." Olive has only been in Ink for a year, and in the year she avoided missions with real danger thanks to her parents, though she did not ask them to do this. They might of even been behind Vincent's protection. Only recently had she gone to the bottom level and this was the first mission of hers where someone died because of her. Needless to say, she wasn't taking it well. Olive cleared her throat and stood straight and thanked Vincent again. "We should move on..." She was trying to act unphased but the moment she stepped forward her legs amost gave out.


Shiira laughed as she took the necklace and pocketed it. "Someone once told me to take pride in all you do." She spoke as she turned around and walked along the edge of the forest. Soon they reached the man-made river and she turned to follow it. "It's rather easy to get to the settlement... But if you went alone they would of probably kicked you out... Yeah... They would of definetly kicked you out. Besides, after that you'd be so lost." It might of sounded like she was mocking the three, but she was just one of the bluntly honest types.

 

Vincent grabbed her before she could fall and folded his wings around her in a warm coccoon, "Hold still for a minute Olive. As far as I've been able to, I''ve shielded you from death around you. Seeing it for the first time is overwhelming. Take it easy for a second." Holding her there he tried to keep his hand out of view. Though his blood may have been vitually invisible, the wound wasn't. He remembered his rule, don't touch a shapshifter for too long. Too bad he'd had no choice but to keep hold of him. Vincent hoped Alex wasn't having too much trouble with him, he was a higher ranked Ink member after all. Vincent's hand burned as it slowly started to heal. "Are you okay, despite a death, Olive?"

"Hmm...About thirty? No, wait, William and his brother died the other day... So twenty-eight." She sounded emotionless and kind of like she was joking, but she really did miss them. "Well, there might be newcomers, but that's not likely..." She looked over her shoulder. "Why do you ask?"

Mya followed both of them. They weren't even gone for a day and Mya already missed the forest. She started to feel uncomfortable in the atmosphere they were in. After hearing Shiira, she frowned. Only 28? No wonder the place they lived in was a godforsaken place.

 

ooc: my apologies. I got tied up in quite the dillemma. I'll make sure not to let it happen again *bows*

IC: "As if I would allow this rat to escape. Besides, he has a face to die for." it muttered to itself as it quickly began to chase after Jason, almost gliding through the allyways, weightless.
"You know boy, you can't run forever. If you stop now, then I'll ensure that your death remains painless. Perhaps instead of slitting your throat I'll simply jab you in the back of the head. It'll be so quick that your brain won't have the time to process your demise." it stated, as it began to laugh loudly whilst it sprinted. It quickly reached into its pocket and pulled out a knife, the only blade it carried on it that wasn't inside of its body.


Mathew had just made it, pulling Awya to safety. "Whoo, close one aye?!" Mathew exclaimed, taking a moment to catch his breath, his hand still grasping the young womans arm for a moment, before taking notice and letting go. "Are you alrite m'lady? Tis an awful shame to have had to make someone run like that, but I'm positive that it was well worth the run to not end up flattened. Though I honestly must say, tis most disturbing that this happened. I had no idea that terrorist activity had risen so high. I suppose that it has something to do with my delivery..." he stated, once again moving from speaking to Awya more so to speaking to himself, as if he were contemplating within his own mind aloud.

 

When Jason saw no one behind him he ducked into an open door and closed it as queitly and as quickly as he could. He moved unsurely through the darkness until finding some boxes to hide behind. While there he would try to catch his breath and wrap up his wounds.


"I'm fine." She didn't know this was true or not, but it had to be. No one could she her, an Ink member, weak. She closed her eyes to compose herself and once the shaking stopped she opened her eyes again. "We should check for injured before joining Alex in hunting down Jason, though I doubt he'll need our help..."

 

Vincent folded his wings back and pulled on his coat. His hand already looked better. "Yeah okay." he kept a close eye on her as he moved through the people. A little girl sniffed and looked up at him, cringing. Vincent knelt beside her, her finger was bent at an awkward angle. Snapping his fingers, he drew her attention to the sparks of magic that flicked off his fingers and gently popped her finger back into place. She squeaked and he lit a ball of light in his palm, "It's alright now. Can you find your parents by yourself?" Straightening, Vincent looked around for any others and felt something cling to his leg. Glancing down, he saw the same little girl, "What's the matter? Alright, c'mon, lets find your parents." Vincent picked her up and set her on his shoulders and walking around with her, "Hey, Olive, you think I could keep this one?" he joked. The little girl laughed and pulled at his hair. "You think little girls her age don't understand what Ink does?"

 

Olive smiled softly as she watched Vincent for a moment before walking around to see if anyone else needed help. She knew a healing spell, but was thankful to see everyone else had left the area or was fine. And though she kind of felt bad for it, she was also thankful that she didn't need to use anymore of her engery, after all, she was wiped after making that large of a shield on so little amount of engery. "I hope she never learns of Ink..." Olive muttered when she heard Vincent. She then looked around for anyone searching for a child so they could return the girl and move on.

 

Vincent laughed, and the little girl pulled his hair and pointed a small finger toward a frantic woman. "Is that your mom? Alright, don't worry, I'll get to her." He manuvered his way through the people and set the girl on her feet, the woman's eyes widened at him and gathered the little child against her, pulling her away from him, "Ink...you keep away from my daughter." Vincent almost felt hurt by her hateful words, but he was used to them. The poor girl would eventually learn about Ink and she'd grow to hate them too. He was sad that he'd still be alive when she was grown. Returning to Olive he shrugged, "Off we go? I think I could guess where Alex went from where we were."

 

Aywa shook her head and smiled, looking back the way the had come as she got her breath back, "I'm fine, don't worry about it. Do you need any help with that delievery?" She asked, her plans for today thrown out the window, being with this guy was much more exciting.
