The Demon Slayers vs. the Demons

He hugged her. "I'm sorry." he said, feeling bad. "I don't really think I am a charmer, and no, I'm not being modest. I'm being truthful."

 

Ceri stopped laughing and hugged him. "You have nothing to be sorry for. I was teasing you. I must have found you attractive though. A day or so is a short time to fall in love."

 

"Yeah, I know it's a short time, but it still happened and I'm glad it did."

 

"So am I. It wouldn't be the same otherwise. I'd just be the cook!"

 

"And I'd just be the maid!" he said, smiling.

 

"Ewww....bad vision. Stick to being the janitor. I prefer you that way."

 

*Caught a glimpse of that vision* He shivered and said "Ewww is right! But janitors clean gum from underneath tables and mop up vomit! I don't do that stuff!"

 

"Ok then, the handyman. You just wouldn't look right in a pinny with a feather duster. You are too manly."

 

"Well thank you for saying I'm manly." he said, kissing her on the cheek.

 

"I wonder what the others are up to. I'm worried about Natalie, but it's not for us to interfere. Instead lets enjoy the peace."

Ceri slipped her arm through his and leaned her head against him.

 

"Yeah," he said, resting his head on hers, "since it may not last long."

 

"I really wish it could all be over and we could live in peace. I hate this war. Both Draklor and Darkeon prove that this is possible. Can it be that we have been fighting so long that we have forgotten why we are fighting? I tend to wonder about these things. I don't want my kids to grow up facing the same dangers that I have."

 

"*gulp* Kids?" he asked, blushing a little.

 

"I was talking generally, not specifically. Our children and our children's children and all that jazz. You thought. Oh no, I didn't mean that. I haven't even thought about....no."

Ceri blushed and turned away.

 

"Oh, that's what you meant." he said, sighing with relief.

 

Ceri stopped and though. She hadn't really thought about the future. She never really thought much beyond the next fight normally. Why was she suddenly obsessing about stopping the war. She looked at Kyle. He probably hoped it would never end. He certainly jumped fast enough when he misunderstood her. She grinned.

"The thought of little Kyles scares you then?"

 

"No, I just don't think we're ready to do something like that yet." he said, blushing even more.

 

"Um...I never meant with me, just kids in general. You scare me sometimes. Do you take everything literally? Bet you were picked on at school."

 

"Sorry, don't know what's wrong with me."

 

"No I'm sorry. I'm sometimes too flippant about things. Forgive me?"

Ceri hung her head and peered at him though her eyelashes.
