The Game

Aly grinned. "You'll only break an ankle." She teased, turning to look behind her. She still felt uneasy, but that may be from lack of sleep. Again.

 

Nox looked down the railroad tracks he saw a large brown box was on the tracks.

 

Aly followed his gaze, then grinned. "I dare you to touch the box." She teased, combing her hair with her fingers.

 

Nox was already on the box, "it's a train. Not alot of fuel but it'll make traveling a little easy for a bit."

 

She tilted her head. "A...train? What does it do?" she had never seen anything like this.

 

"It's like a carrage only bigger and faster," Nox said climeing in, "come on. Let's see if we can get it running again."

 

She hesitated, then climbed on top of it, her eyes wary. "Please say there are no monsters in here." she murmured, gently moving closer to Nox.

 

"I hope not," Nox said. He went to the cotrols. He began to push buttions and turn switches and dials. Then there was a loud BANG!

 

Aly fell over, surprised. "Stop pushing goddamn buttons!" she yelled, more startled then angry.

 

The train began to move forward.
"It's okay see we're moveing now," Nox held out a hand to help Aly off the ground.

 

She took his hand, smiling slightly. "I don't like loud noises." she murmured, using her arm muscles to pull herself up.

 

Nox smiled, "it'll be fine now. So have you eber been this far north."

 

She shook her head. "No, never. I've been mostly in the south..slowly making my way west." She explained, leaning against a rusty wall. "Travel funds are hard to come by."

 

"That and most of the North was new cities that hadn't been conected by roads," Nox said, "this has been as far as I have traveled."

 

She nodded, then smiled. "More adventure, right?" she asked, looking up at the rusty half ceiling. "I mean...as far away as I can get, that's where I want to go."

 

"Well your on the right track with me," Nox said turning a small wheel.

 

She smiled, then nodded. "I guess so." She turned to look out a small window, thinking.

 

The train began picking up speed.

 

Aly looked over at Nox. "You sure you know what you're doing?" she asked. "This is an old train, after all."

 

"Yeah ahhh just turn some dials push some buttions and we're fine," Nox said.
