    Sterilised would probably fit best there I think. Decontaminated would imply that it was contaminated at some point but isn't any longer.

    I once woke up in a pool of blood with corpses all around me and my skin dyed red from the gore. At first I was worried, but it turns out I just got really hungry in the night.

    If I recall correctly, it took forever to clean that mess up but it was rather funny that all that blood temporarily stained your skin pink.
