The Hunt

Iris looked at her sis. "It would seem that I Knocked her out cold......OH what have I done!" She wailed. Throwing this plank away and getting down on her knees beside Dahlia.

 

Alec snarled as he turned to the other vampire, "Quiet you!" he started but stopped and averted his gaze, hoping he wouldn't recognize him as the little pet his father insisted he was.

 

"we need to get back before more show up..."

 

"oh so the little dog thinks he can bark wherever he wants" The man said

 

Alec kept his head lowered, "Actually yeah we do." He pulled Iris up and started pulling her away, "C'mon Innes, we have to go!" Alec's powers were spiraling out of his control, images of his father flashed before everyone as his mind projected what he was thinking. Vincent Strife, a vampire elder in all his vampiric glory flashed before everyone's eyes.

 

"Vincent Strife?" The man said and then laughed "tell me boy are you that moron's son? because you look just like him" the man said

 

Iris looked at the Vampire guy. "Umm, tell me, what are you planning to do with my sister?" She pointed to Dahlia.

 

Alec frantically fought for control, "I..." He made the mistake of looking up at the vampire man, "That moron is my father!" he snarled, "He may be a vampire and treat me like a dog, but no one insults my family!"

 

"the son of a moron defending his moron of a father" the man said and crossed his arms "but then again be must have not been that stupid for treating you the way he should" the man said

 

Alec bared his teeth, fangs and all and clenched his fists. He opened his mouth to speak when he heard footsteps.

"I had no idea you thought so ill of me. Why I thought we had gotten along quite well...Versago." Vincent Strife walked calmly to stand but a few feet from Alec and the vampire, "Shame, I was going to let you live. The others had considered killing you, but I guess you could say I am a moron for thinking you would come to your senses and realize who your comrades were and stop trying to kill us." Vincent's black cloak billowed out behind him and he kept his eyes shut as he spoke, his fangs showing each time he opened his mouth to speak.

 

"well for the record I was just trying to anger your son but don't go expecting an apology from me. Cause I not going to give you one." the vampire known as Versago said not even looking over at him "I won't mind actually fighting you but then again I did encounter a few former comrades that happened to want to kill me. I had my fun with them" Versago said as he closed his eye with a grin

 

Vincent opened his eyes and slowly focused the blood red irisis on Alec, "Don't be absurd. That thing over there is no son of mine. I have no son."

Alec flinched.

"But then, who would claim a filthy half-breed like that as their son? Certainly you wouldn't, I'm not going to, and I can't think of any vampire that would. He's simply...a dog as he said I treat him so." Vincent turned his unnatural red eyes on Versago, "I didn't expect you to be here of all places. It is quite a surprise, but you never were one to simply stay low." Vincent's pale face pulled back into a snarl/smile, "It's quite amusing, riling up half-breeds, isn't it?"

 

Versago's grin grew bigger "indeed it is. I couldn't pass up the chance to do so" Versago said opening his yellow eye and looked over at Vincent

 

Vincent sighed and held his hands palm up to the sky as he shrugged, "Then, what to do? My, this seems almost difficult. I'm tempted to let you kill him if only for a few kicks, but..." he closed his eyes again and walked toward Alec, "I do need him alive. You see, my old friend, I've been researching their kind. It's been quite fruitful." He brushed the hair from Alec's golden eyes.

Alec flinched away from Vincent's hand, "D-don't touch me." He tried to back away and Vincent grabbed his throat.

"Leaving so soon?" He opened his eyes again and stared at Alec's golden eyes, "Don't you dare try to read my mind boy, I hate it when you poke around in my thoughts and remember the last time you did that, you found something quite unpleasant."

 

Innes glanced at Iris and mouthed 'should we run?'

 

Iris nodded at him and began to slowly back away.

 

He backed up too

 

She made sure she was far enough away before breaking into a run, heading back to the path they were recently on.

 

He followed after her

 

Versago watched as they ran away "well it looks like they abandoned their friend" Versago said
