The Institution

"Be lucky you went to school kid and aren't a dumb 17 year old like me.." Mia said looking down at her, "And I was gonna go to school... the day they took me away for testing.."

 

Luna met her gaze, "Really? Sorry, I didn't know. Anyway, you're not dumb. I didn't do much better though, I managed to learn to read and write basically and that's it. I somehow doubt I'm going back to school now."

 

"I'll learn to read and write when I get the chance.." Mia said as she closed her eyes.

 

"I bet you will" She looked at Mia's closed eyes, "What are you doing?"

 

"Trying to predict where Lilly is.. so far it's blank.." Mia said opening her eyes again.

 

"Oh well, keep trying. We'd better get back to looking for her anyway, the sooner we find her, the better." Luna nodded, a look of determination in her little face.

 

Mia nodded she then stood up and started walking down the street again.

 

"What do you want?" Richard asked.

73 looked him in the eye. "Ever heard of a place called, The Institution?"

 

Lilly shuddered at the name, she never wanted to go back there. She hated it with all her heart.

 

"Yeah, what about it?" Richard asked.

"It seems a few of the experiments escaped." 73 said.

 

Lilly started crawling further away from them under the table, still invisible.

 

Richard crossed his arms. "No."
"No, what?" 73 asked.
"I will not be a G-Man again." Richard frowned.

 

Lilly remained still listening in.

 

"C'mon Rich, you were the best." 73 said.
Richard shook his head. "I'm not interested in that stuff anymore..."

 

Lilly stayed still for a few minutes before a waitress walked by, accidentally kicking her, she hit her head on the bottom of the table.

 

73's ears perked up. "You hear that?"

 

Lilly held her head in pain.

 

"Hear what?" Richard asked, rubbing Lilly's head.

 

Lilly's face cringed, Since when the hell are tables marble?

 

"That banging sound..." 73's eyes widened. He sniffed. "I... smell... a child..."
