The Keyblade War-Breath of the Future

Mixt hadn't thought that Phisoxa would do such a thing and by the time he saw her it was too late to stop the attack, he slowed it down but the difference was irrelevant. It was like getting hit by a car instead of a train. Mixt cured her but the deed was already done, all the spell proved to do was restore her mangled body. Having a flash back of his past Mixt kneeled next to her, closed her eyes, and kissed her forehead. Mixt stood back up and walked away, with a wave of his hands he opened a secondary gate out of the void. "Keep her safe" was his only words as he stepped through and the portal vanished. On the other side Mixt was in Twilight Town and was invisable again. He walked to the home of Phisoxa's children where he trusted his son would be. He wanted to see him at least once.

 

Phisoxa lay on her back in the middle of the floor, she was still alive, but only barely. Atem managed to snap out of it when he saw his opponent leave and a look of horror came to his face as he fell to his knees near her.
Phisoxa:" Atem, I am glad to survived, you must get out of here and tell Nuthura and others to leave before he tries to get to them next, knowing him, he won't leave knowing his infant son is in someone else's hands, as well I don't think he'd want another son trying to oppose him in the future. . . knowing Nuthura she'd try and teach him to oppose him. . . now hurry . ."

Atem:" No mother, you are dying, I can't leave you here !! Mom please stay awake !!"
Phisoxa smiled slightly as her eyes closed slightly.
Phisoxa:" Take this, it will help you open a portal out of here,I will be back don't worry, a dream like me will never fade . . ."
She smiled as her eyes closed and blood dripped from her lip slowly and a small stream of tears flowed from her eyes afterwards.

Meanwhile . . .
Since the clear was given that danger had left the town, all the citizens were given a choice to return to their homes and resume life, but Nuthura and the others would not take a chance and stay behind. With Mixt's young son in tow, they could risk him coming back after them. At the twin's house, they were busy packing up and getting ready to leave. Aia was busy packing, while Riku was busy runing a few chores around town. Nuthura was in the kitchen keeping watch over Nemo as well as Phisoxa newborn son who lay in her arms.
Nuthura: " Aia is everything packed?"
Aia:" Mhmm !! I'm just shutting all the windows."

 

Mixt was just within earshot to hear the exchange of words. They were leaving. Mixt waited outside, across the street from the doorway. When they left he would see them and one of them, likely Aia, would be carrying his son. He wished he could hold him but fate would not allow that this day. She was no longer able to fulfil her end of the bargin but it was his fault. As far as he was concerned he still needed to fulfil his. And that ment that he could do nothing to make a scene.

 

ooc: The deal Phisoxa made with mixt, implied that he'd try not to harm the town, she did not mention what would become of her infant son though. I think she personally wanted the child to grow up knowing Mixt and be away from everyone one else. That is why she asked to take her baby with her when she agreed to come with Mixt. So as long as Mixt does not "harm" anyone, he can take the child.

Aia:" Okay I am finished, Nuthura you go ahead, I will do some last minute fixes."
Nuthura:" Right, I will go. Come Nemo."
She said as she held Nemo's hand in one hand and the infant in the other. She smiled at the innocent fussy movements the child made within it's blankets as she brought him out into the sun.

 

Mixt wasn't sure anymore if it was love or greed that came over him but seeing the child simply wasn't enough. Technically the deal was not to harm anyoe in the town, keeping peace was not part of the deal, but he didn't wan't to make a scene if he could avoid it. Instead he opted to follow his daughter-in-law and wait for an opening.

 

Nuthura walked further down the road and when she came the station tram she had to go check up on Riku really quick so she left the newborn sitting in a basket on a bench with Nemo.
Nuthura:" Watch the little guy for me, I have to go see how your father is doing."
She said with a smile as she set her bag down next to Nemo and ran off towards the one of the shops where Riku sat posted around the corner. Her son who rarely spoke at all sat next to the child, just watching people walk by.

 

Mixt slowly slid the basket backwards behind the distracted Nemo. Mixt turned his son invisable before picking him up so that passerby wouldn't see a floating baby. Mixt then left a note stating that he had taken his son but would not teach the child light or darkness, leaving him to make his own decision when he came of age. Mixt then stepped into an alyway so that he could use a dark portal unseen as he returned to the Land of Departure.

 

Phisoxa had died already, yet several minutes passed by and Atem had not attempted to leave her body. He finally decided it was time to go, he grasped her hand in his as a tear dripped down his cheek and landed on Phisoxa's cheek. Then suddenly Phisoxa's body began to glow and it had seemed Phisoxa's body was incased in a glass box very smiliar to the one given to snow white except it was pure white.
Atem:" I see . . this is what mother ment . . . . Mom I will help you come back, no matter what you will see. Just wait for me okay."
He said as he gripped the crystal necklace which had belonged to his mom in his hand while tears flooded from his eyes and it too began to glow and instead of opening a portal, Atem disappeared into a swarm of light and used the path of light to help him return back to twilight town.

9 years later . . . in the land of dragons . . .

A wonderful festival had commenced, honoring 10 successful years under the strict, yet peaceful rule of Lord Mixt, ruled the entire world order. It seemed to be much like a new years festival in a way with all grand it was. Fireworks lit up the skies while the ohs and awes of city folk sounded in the background. Things seemed peaceful indeed but to Atem however, he had not been able to make peace within his own heart. It had been 9 dreadful years his mother had been out of existance, 9 years he had not seen his father or his little brother. He had tried many times to come after Mixt but prevented himself from doing so later since the pain was too overwhelming. Instead he had been busy training and traveling around the worlds . But he wasn't alone, that scrawny little girl with pig tails was now a beautiful young woman, only a year older then Atem, Sophie had been allowed to come home after all that training and now she spent more time traveling just as Atem did. Not only did Sophie come along but so did Nuthura's son, Nemo. He too was older now, a springy 14 year old boy who had grown out of his once mute younger self, he was Atem's bestfriend now.

Atem himself had also grown, he looked much more like Mixt then he had previously and that bugged very much. Everyday, he had gotten comments from those he'd met in his travels that he looked very much like the supreme ruler but told them that he wasn't related to the man. He suffered everyday knowing that if he had not committed his foolish actions and tried not to attack Mixt, that his mother would still be alive today. But today that regret would be set aside and today he would try to smile since it was a day of celebration as Sophie exclaimed. The three were sitting down on a hill that sat behind the city, under a cherry blossom tree. Sophie of course had dressed for the occasion and she was wearing a pretty pink kimono with long sleeves that feel below her knees in length while her two male friends just dressed casual for the event. Well Nemo tried to look eventful by wearing a party hat while Atem just stayed his normal self.
Atem:" Do you think you two are overdoing it a little? Especially for festival celebrating our enemy's rule? I mean really Sophie . . ."
Sophie:" I don't care Atem, we never get to have any fun anyways. You especially need to have some more fun once in a while, so stop accusing us."

Mixt sat back on the roof of his palace in the Land of departure. The land that only a decade ago had no buildings other than rooms and training areas for developing keyblade masters was now a thriving metropolis. From his standpoint all the city lights and commontion blurred together, reminding him of a fire spread across the ground. Although the thrill of conquest had been great, actually being the leader of everything bored him. He trained every day to keep his power but his accosiates covered most of the governing. With just a word he could have or do anything he wanted, which was nice at first but very quickly became mundane. "How did I keep my sanity as a god? After all of that, to just have nothing left to strive for. There is no where to go from here but down..."

 

There was a small breeze that whispered in Mixt's ear and sprawled out into the distance. A voice sounded from the dark folds of the night.
" How about you try seeing your older son ?You haven't forgotten about him already have you? You know, he should be about sixteen years old by now and looking much more like you then he has ever before."
There was a pale white cat that sat near the door that lead downstairs on the roof, watching Mixt curiously. Its golden eyes watching him. Indeed it appeared to be just a normal cat, but something seemed off about it.

 

Mixt didn't even look over at the cat. "You know I can't do that. If he notices me you know that he'll attack, and it isn't like you can step in to stop it this time."

 

" But you know, if you brought along Abel, I don't think Atem would have the guts to try and kill you in front of him. Whatever happened to your strategy Mixt ? Anyways Atem thinks my death was just as much as his doing as yours. After all, both of your powers were present at the same time. Do you think Atem will be throwing on the blame on you only?"
Responded the voice as the cat scurried towards Mixt, pounced up, and landed on the stone pedestal next to him and with only the blink of a eye, the cat was replaced with that of a woman, and that woman was Phisoxa, but instead her body seemed paler and see through.

 

"Of course he also blames himself, but that isn't going to stop him from attacking me if he sees me. If he hasn't moved on yet it is likely his drive to kill me that keeps him going. If he can't pay for his own mistakes then he'll at least make the other offender pay. But you do have a point with Abel. His presence would likely keep Atem at bay. And besides, it is about time they meet each other." Mixt stood up and took one last look out across the city. With a small laugh he said "A fallen god, a forged heart, and a ghost of a dream, all sharing one body. Talk about someone who aught not to exist." And at that he turned to go back inside.

 

When Mixt wandered back inside Phisoxa was once again replaced with that strange white cat who proceeded to follow Mixt down the stairs. Indeed she knew Abel very well, but Abel did not know her. To him, she was just a normal white house cat, he did know not know who she truly was because she did not want to show him, not yet anyways.

 

Mixt found Abel in his room reading. "So are you ready for todays training?"

Abel looked up and pouted a bit. "Come on Dad, it's a holiday. Can't you go easy on me for once. I'm still trying to get this straight" Abel said as he held up what he was reading. It was a book on organic alchemy.

"I know, but I want you to test you on something. Trust me, this is more interesting than most training."

With a sigh Abel marked the book and put it on a stack of study materials he had on his desk before standing up. "So what is today's test?"

Mixt smiled. "I want you to find someone by the name of Atem. He is your brother of age sixteen."

Abel's eyes went wide "I have a brother?"

Mixt nodded back. "There is a reason that he doesn't live with us, and you should know that up front, but you deserve to meet him at least once. And who knows, maybe the two of you will get along."

 

The cat sat in the open doorway watching them speak while she remained totally silent. Instead Phisoxa spoke to Mixt in his heart.
" So you are not going to go see him yourself? I was hoping . . . maybe"
She desperately wanted to see him, but could not go because were Mixt went, Phisoxa had to stay. So she could not go.

 

'I don't know. He confuses me too' Evron said. Mixt didn't respond. It would play itself out.

"But father. How am I supposed to find him? All I have is a first name and an age. Tracking based off of that could take months"

"You have more than that. It is one thing to trust in your head. It is another to trust in your heart. You'll reach your full potential if you can master both" After a moment Abel nodded to show that he was ready. "You need a gummi ship?"

"Actually, I've got a better idea" Abel said as he moved passed his father.

 

" I don't think the boy is ready yet but eh . . . "
The cat's ears drooped slightly as the cat stepped out the way to let Abel pass.

 

Abel ran to the cliff face that Terra, Ven, and Aqua used to hang out at. He stood in the center and closed his eyes but after a minute he just slumped "I thought it would be here." Turning to face his father he continued. "When I was here the other day I felt something and thought it might be important. I didn't want to tell you until I had a chance to see for myself but I can't seem to sense it again."
