The Keyblade War-Breath of the Future

" What does he mean by that? He saw something there?"
Phisoxa said as the cat scurried outside and stopped a few feet away from the boy, that was as far as she could go without being pulled back.

 

Mixt saw that Phisoxa wanted to move closer so he approached Abel. 'I don't think it was a person he sensed, so I can only think of one thing.' Mixt responded. "Here, I think this might help." Mixt said as he summoned Evron's keyblade and held out the hilt for Abel to grab.

Abel was confused as he tentatively took hold of the keyblade. He closed his eyes for a moment and then got excited again. He let go and ran off to a square segment that stuck out slightly from the cliff face and knelt down on the ground. "I found it!"

As Mixt walked over he saw it. In the middle of the grass was a keyhole. "Well I think you might be on to something" Mixt stuck the keyblade into the keyhole and light started pouring out of it. It expanded until the square was entirely open and then the light faded. But there was nothing to be seen down there, just blackness. "Care for a leap of faith?"

Abel swallowed hard and looked up at his father. He was scared but didn't want to disappoint him and jumped in, followed immediately by Mixt.

 

Phisoxa followed Mixt and pounced down into the black abyss, letting the wind keep her up while she kept in range of them.
" Hopefully things go as well as I thought."

 

The three of them landed in a cave but looking up the roof was solid with nowhere for them to have fallen from. In the cave a few shrines were set up and there was a small passage way where light was coming from so it must reach the outside shortly after the turn.

 

" Hmmm, It this where I think it is?"
Said Phisoxa in Mixt's mind as she scurried down the small passageway, her small white paws pattering faintly against the ground.

 

'That all depends on where you think this is.'
'Not this again. Why can't you just speak plainly? And where are we anyway?'
Mixt walked out with Phisoxa. "Well Abel you did it. Welcome to the Land of Dragons" he said as they stepped out of the cave into a small vilage.

"Land of Dragons? You mean we left home? Just like that?"

Mixt nodded. "Well that was the idea wasn't it?"

"Well, sure. But I didn't think it would be that easy..." Abel looked arround in awe. He had seen different worlds but this was the first time he had gone without a gummi ship and was still trying to figure out how they did it so quickly. "If you can do that to switch worlds that quickly why don't we do that instead of gummiships?"

"Well it might be fast but you can't control where you go. The worlds will throw you in any direction they please. Now let's go. You've got a brother to find." Abel nodded and ran off into the town.

 

" Nevermind, Mixt already answered, lets get going I guess."
Phisoxa spoke as she took off, following at the heels of Abel.

Atem was oblivious to what was about to come, he was too busy looking up through the spaces between the blossoms of the tree above and worrying. Even though his face never showed it, all he ever did was worry as his two companions seemed carefree. They seemed happy so why didn't he? Sophia wandered over and kicked at his side.
" Get up and stop feeling sorry for everything, I know that old fun loving Atem I knew from our childhood is still there. If your Mother was here, I think she would prefer you to be happy as always."

 

As Abel went through the town Mixt was following to track his progress. Many people were worried at Mixt's unannounced vist but tried to hide it, badly as far as Mixt was concerned but Mixt acted ignorant himself since this visit did not have to do with them.

"Have you seen a boy around here? Age sixteen, named Atem, and likely looks like me and my father?" Abel was asking an innkeeper.

"Well sure. He stayed with me last night. He didn't seem like he was going to stay long, but someone with him said something about staying for the celebration tonight. He's likely still around here." He was going to ask what this was about but decided against doing anything that could possibly make Lord Mixt angry.

Abel was oblivious and simply nodded in thanks and ran off with his father behind him, hoping to find Atem.

" He will have to be somewhere near the main celebration center, perhaps the city plaza? I know there is alot of grassy hills located around there where the guests relax. "
Phisoxa spoke as she continued to run.

Atem:" Fine, but stop kicking me Sophie, it really hurts !!"
He said as he rolled over on his side and looked down the hill at the plaza below, watching the merriment below.

Nemo:" well I'm going to go get some more snacks, be right back guys."
As he trotted down the hill, intent on getting away from them before Sophie got more violent. He wandered into the plaza and stood at one of the stands, waiting in line.

Mixt relayed Phisoxa's comment to Abel almost verbatim.

"City Plaza. Got it" Abel said as he headed in that direction. Once there Abel looked around briefly before becoming flustered with all the people there. He decided it was best to ask around again. Completely unknown to him the person he asked was Nemo. Mixt had to stifle a laugh at the coincidence but wanted Abel to finish the job. "Excuse me. Have you seen anyone here by the name Atem? Sixteen, likely looks a bit like me and my dad?"

 

Nemo had finshed ordered the food in a takeout box and he seemed to ignore the kid's question till he spun around and was attempting to walk off but bumped into the boy.
" Hey there and no I don't know anything about this boy that looks like you, now you scram kid or I will get my friend here to make you scram and he is a real mean guy. As for your father . . . wait . . . HEY !!! "
Nemo seemed flabbergasted as he slunk to the wall nearby and tried to keep back away from them.
" Mixt, w-why are you here, is there something you need and is that your . . . s-son . . . I'm so sorry . . . there is not need to talk to me, I'm just a stranger, we have never met before, n-never, you must have me mistaken with some other guy . . . soooo goodbye !!"
He said as he attempted to leave and not make eye contact with them.

Sophie seemd oblivous to the ambush by the heartless, but Atem saw it just in time and he pushed Sophie over on the ground to get her down and out of the way.
" Atem this is all so sudden !!! Get off of me now you idiot !!!"
She said as she tried to kick him off.
" And what, have you get attacked from behind ?!! Watch it !!"
Atem said as he rolled off of her and summoned his keyblade.
" You little b*******s picked the wrong target, for that you will die !!"

 

Abel got really flustered at Nemo's response. "What was that about?"

"Well you can investigate if you like. Or if you don't think it is relavent to the search, you could just count him as an odd character and move on. This is entirely up to you."

Abel thought for a moment before he looked over at where Nemo had left. "Lets follow him. I think he knows something."

"I think you might be right" Mixt said, trying hard not to sound sarcastic.

Abel followed Nemo, keeping a distance so it wasn't too obvious what they were doing. Knowing they were close to their mark, Mixt stayed a distance behind Abel so that Atem wouldn't instantly freak out.

 

midory appeared behind him covering in the shadow and tie him down whit the shadow "is that right well let see how you handle yourself whit that weak hear "zero pointed his key to atem heart messing whit the sadness and making he feel more miserable heartless got near sophie "well i think my heartless found a snack "

 

Atem:" What the, why are you people doing this to her, leave her out of this, its me you want !! Sophie !!"
Sophie:" You stay away from me you monsters , I was not intending to kill today!!"
She said as she held out a small dagger from within her kimono sleeve and held it at a stance.
Nemo rushed down the road, trying to get back to his friends as fast as he could to give them the news. But when his eyes came upon the sight back at the hill he set the food down and summoned his keyblade.
Nemo:" Hold on guys on I'm coming !!"

Atem:" Nemo, help Sophie and get her out of here now !!"
Atem said as he steadily tried to lift the shadow off of him, the rising anger in his heart influencing his bad mood even more as he gritted his teeth and summoned another keyblade in his hand and in one split second in a burst of energy sent the heartless flying back with a Aeroga spell and terribly strong one at that. It seemed like a hurricane had just blown through rather then a breeze. Sophie ducked down to the ground and tried to keep her head out of danger.

'I think he might be over there' Evron commented on the oversized Areo.
'You think so? I thought that was normal around here. Thanks for the info Sherlock' Mixt responded, this time full on with the sarcasm.
'No problem'
Mixt just rolled his eyes and stood back, observing the battle in the midst of the crowd.

Abel made it to the hill and pulled out the sword his father gave him to train with. It was also standard to the infantry of Mixt's army. Abel slashed at a heartless but the attack hardly did a thing. "What are these things?" Abel said in shock. As he cautiously made a few more attacks Abel searched his memories of all the teachings his father gave him. Before he could come up with anything Atem's Areoga blew them away. Abel was struck with awe as he looked around to make sure they were really gone. He then spotted Zero making an attack on Atem and rushed in to strike Zero from behind.

 

Atem:" You crazy kid, what are you doing rushing in trying to help? You know there is nothing but danger here !!! "
He said as he held both his keys in his hand and ran at the area where Sophie was trapped in the shadow. Atem used his sensing ablity perhaps something he inherited from Phisoxa to attack at he right spot, using one key, his old childhood keyblade, the clear, glassy one to deal the attack of light upon the darkness, despersing it, he then reached in and pulled Sophie out where she tripped over one of the roots of the tree and went rolling down the hill in the grass and lifted herself up.
Sophie:" Owie."

She said as she got up on her knees.
