" Don't be so sure of your answer father, I have grown much more then I were while I was only seven. The reason why I don't attack you is because he is here."
Atem said smiling a grim smile as Sophia wandered over to Abel and put her hand on his shoulder, she could tell something was up.
" Hey are you okay?"

 

"I wouldn't be so sure of yor answer either, Atem. He might be the most tangible reason today, but you are still as confused as you were back then. You can't bring yourself to forgive me or exact your revenge, you've become locked in and endless search for power as you prepare for the day that you can't bring yourself to make reality. It will be another 20 years at least before we can tell if you will ever be able truly see through my eyes, but my key should show you most of what you need to know. If you care to look." Mixt told Atem

Abel responded quietly back to Sophie. "I new this wasn't going to be a normal meeting, but this is just so much too fast"

 

" Shut up !! You don't know anything not yet !!! We barely even fought yet and already you assume that I'm still the same !!"
Atem said as he jumped up and Phisoxa walked over to him and the cat rubbed against his leg.
" Atem, please calm down, you don't want to make yourself look more like a monster then a older brother to Abel."

 

'How would you feel about leaving Abel with Atem?' Mixt asked Phisoxa in their minds.

"I never said you were the same, Atem. The only one saying that is you. All I'm saying is that you have a long way to go. It will take centuries at best for you to reach the point that I wish to see you. But alas, this old body of mine won't allow it, not unless I want to pull of the same stunt as Xehanort did many years ago; and that simply isn't a move I cared for. But your power has surely improved. Taking out a round of Zero and Midory's heartless in a single attack, and not even the faintest hum of your song. And your drive to fight is better too. I was rarely able to get you to fight until you were on your last legs. I'm proud of you, but your journey is not ready to be over."

 

" Trust me Mixt, once I get my body back I will find some way to help you."
" I don't know do you think Abel is ready?"
Phisoxa said as she sat down and stared up at him while Atem sat back down and let out a long sigh.

 

'About as ready as Sophia and Nemo. I want them to get to know eachother and I don't think Atem will give Abel a chance as long as I'm here.'

"Oh Phisoxa, perhaps the greatest thing about you that I can't understand. I've hurt you in more ways than I care to recall and still you care for me. I'll find a way to get you back again. I owe you that much."

 

" Fine go ahead, I don't think they will mind babysitting him for a bit."
" Indeed, the thing is, I am not one to regret for long periods of time. Even after all those people did terrible things to me, I stopped being angry. My deadbeat parents, my brother, Torxber, Nathaniel, and even you, I stopped regretting. Sometimes I just feel so tired to try and regret anymore, I'm older now, even though I may not appear like it on the outside, in the inside I feel that I have stayed longer on the earth then I should have. When I was young, I was more easy to anger, that was because I still had my teenage mentality. . . but. . .

 

"Well Atem, it was nice seeing you. I think its best if I go now, before things actually do get violent." Mixt said getting back to his feet. Abel got up to follow but Mixt held up his hand to indicate that he should stop. "You stick with them Abel, maybe you'll learn something."

"You're going to leave me here with them?" Abel asked in shock.

"Yes I am. There are things that you need to do and decide without me." Mixt opened a dark portal and stepped onto the boundary. "When the time comes, you will find your way home. But what 'home' is might change by then" And with that Mixt stepped through and the portal closed.

 

zero was shock to hear what he said and saw abel "atem what are you gonna do from here out me and midory will follow you but your brother is weak " midory walk and knock abel down and look surprise " is this really mixt son and your blood brother atem he will not last again my heartless "

 

Abel jumped backwards when Midory tried to take him down. "Wait, so you're attacking them when I get here and now suddenly your thier buddy? And who are you calling weak?" Abel pouted but it ended up looking more cute than anything else on the nine-year-old's face.

 

The man had gone as quickly as he had came and left the boy in Atem's care, even though this was his little brother he wasn't interested on a child inhibiting his travels. He noticed that Phisoxa had left too, she had seemed to slip past them without them even knowing, but perhaps that was the fact that she was a animal. Atem stood up and shoved his hands into his pockets.
Atem:" Hey kid you can stick around, but don't think us as your babysitter, you will be expected to fight for yourself just as everyone of us when trouble comes about. I don't want to have anybody weighing us down and by the way if you want to kill those black creatures, a normal sword won't work, you will need one with spiritual abilities or you can just use magic or whatever you can. . . . Even alchemy made weapons will work on them . . . "
He said with a slim smile as he began walking down the hill and Nemo followed him. Sophie stayed behind to see that the kid would try to follow them, even though they were almost complete strangers to the kid.
" Aww, you know, your brother used to make that face when he was a child, back then he was springy and full of emotion . . . now . . . hes too cold even for expressions, I guess when Phisoxa left . . . it seemed she took his happiness with her."

 

"At least he got to know her. I spent my whole life thinking she was just a house cat..." Abel sheathed his sword and walked with them but kept his hand on the swords hilt. He was partially afraid because this was the first time he had left his world without his father's protection. But also out of the five people that he was now accompanying Sophie and Nemo were the only ones that didn't frighten him, and he was still weary of anyone who would willingly be with them. Hearing that he reminded Sophie of Atem didn't help either. He didn't want to end up like him.

 

zero walk over to abel and check him out "you dont look strong so tell me what can you do you got a keyblade magic"midory smile and follow atem not worrying for abel

 

"Why are you always talking about power? I'm nine, of course I'm not that powerful. I don't have a keyblade and my magic is hardly worth using yet. I am a decent alchemist though." Abel explained, getting annoyed with Zero criticizing him.

 

" Well I'd consider you lucky, its better not to know a parent rather then have both and have them turn for the worse. He was there when Mixt left his mother to fulfill his ambition. He would of felt terrible seeing his father leave and him too weak to stop him. Atem would of followed Mixt, but he had different beliefs and took a different path. I would know how it is to be without one of my parents, you see, my father died when I was only a tod. Sad thing is, I remember few things about him."
Sophie said as she walked along side them

 

"But why couldn't they have stayed with him? Father didn't do anything that bad did he?" Abel asked, refusing to believe that the only parrent he ever knew could have been at fault for the broken family.

 

Sophie paused for a moment and then smiled while patting him on the head.
" That is for Atem to tell you, anyways I don't want to be the one telling you everything. Its best to keep you pure-minded for now."

 

"Fine" Abel said, upset that everyone was treating him like a child, even if he was one. He contined walking with his hand on his sword, not letting himself think about how useless it was in his current company.

 

Sophie stared down at the sword in his hand as they walked.
" You know, we aren't in any real danger now, why do you insist to carry your key around? your arm must be growing tired."
