Wait....Kai....something's wrong.......

It's not me....I can't do anything here.

Maybe I can dispel the darkness....

She quickly runs over to her and focuses her power on dispelling the circle and the void.

 

"What is she doing?"

"I don't know, you stupid dragon!"

"Well you don't have to be rude...." The dragon said as it's body was dispelled.

Michael heard laughter as the throne room door swung open.

 

Michael's kind of hard on his dragon........

.......well......maybe he's not a serious joking person?.....no time for sarcasm....as much....

You're such a great friend.......I wonder who's laughing....must be the king......he was on the list anyway....might as well finish the job.....that I just remembered a short time ago....

 

Kai closed her eyes, the blanket around her disappeared. Softly, she opened her eyes and sat. "Michael!" She got up, but turned to Angel. "Thanks...." She turned back around and followed Michael.

 

....I feel weird......kind of...dizzy.....hey...what's...this....an...arrow?....no...it's a teeny arrow.......I'm....drugged.....

She collapses onto the floor with a groan.

Uh-oh....this isn't good.....

Oh yeah....second defence.....you know....I think I'll help you guys.....

The king walked out of the throne room with a set of keldon wings on his back.

"No, you monster!"

Michael remembered the old legend.

"So that's why you continued your little witch-hunt...."

The King said nothing. He had done as the legend stated, but failed to realize that he was now nothing more than a soulless machine.

"I must thank you for preparing the last sacrifice for me, young keldon. I shall reward you with your death...."

The king lunged towards Michael.

 

Kai got between the king and Michael, wanting to take the strike instead of him. "You wouldn't hurt him!"

 

Gah......that was a trained shot there......I hear a battle going on....and I'm missing out.....

You want to be concious again?

......maybe.....then again I haven' had a wink of sleep in a long time......*sigh* after this battle I swear I will sleep for a month....

She gets back up and seems still slightly conscious but otherwise...drugged....and she sees the danger with Michae, Kai, and the king but everything seems blurry.

I...have to kill....the snowball...(kai)...or was it the black horse...(Michael)......or....was it the cherry....(king).....I'm going for...the black horse.....it might attack people....

 

"Out of my way, child." The king said as he slapped Kai aside. "I'll deal with you next..."

Michael, in an uncontrolable rage, sliced the King in half.

 

Kai laid on the ground, and smiled at Michael, but fell unconscious.

 

Michael continued to scream in rage. His eyes changed from blue, to black and yellow. He felt as if something was posessing him, making him have a growing need to spill blood. Michael was trying to fight back against this mysterious force, but clearly it was winning.

"Just hold on!"

"I dont know if I can!"

 

Kai regained her consciousness and saw Michael screaming in rage. "Michael!" She got up and ran to him, grabbing onto his shoulders. "Snap out of it! Please snap out of it!" Tears formed in her eyes as she tried to free him.

 

The force that had a hold on Michael was starting to loosen its grip on him. Slowly but surely, he was regaining control. He placed his hand on Kai's.

 

Kai slowly leaned toward Michael, and placed her lips on his, kissing him on the lips. Tears ran down her cheeks.

 

Michael regained full control of himself.

"What.......what happened?"

 

"Something was trying to get control of you after you killed the king. When I woke up, you were screaming in rage, but I think my voice broke it. I thought I had lost you." Kai started to cry.

 

"I remember now.....When I slayed the king, somehow I absorbed his power, and it tried to take control of me....You helped me break its hold on me......"

Michael said, trying to stay awake.

 

"I thought if I didn't do anything, you would become like him! A soulless killer...." Kai continued to cry as she turned from Michael. "And I would have lost the person I love."

 

Michael tried to say something, but couldn't. He fell fast asleep.

 

Kai smiled and kneeled beside him. Gently, she stroke his hair, and start to sing.
