NAH JEEKS THAT'S JUST THE MAN WAY TO GET THE BLADE. AND THE CHEAPER WAY. MAKING YOU HAVE MORE SOULS BY THE END OF IT. (actually, I'm pretty sure the weapon changes pending on if you kill or scare off the dragon and if you roll passed him the game seems to think you killed him. I never researched this beyond Nova showed me a video of someone blasting off the tail with a bow and they ended up with a different great sword than I did)

He's getting whipped. Beating up on low levels is great way to figure out tactics and build confidence. Plus, when you kick you stun the enemy meaning you can dive attack or get behind them and strike which is quite a bit of damage and allows you more movement. Parrying can be lethal to you if you're up against a mob and then somehow you grabbed a black knight and now he's in the mix. Parrying is easy to do anyway, but working on crowd control and quick elimination is a whole 'nother needed skill.

Plus, he mentioned DMC3. These are skills that will easily translate.

That's silly. Colour looks better with the u in it.

That's an opinion, unfortunately. In America it's wrong to have the "u" in it, while in the UK it's wrong to not have the "u" present.

Someone explain how I went from listening to peppy '80s music to German techno?

And in Canada, either is fine. Which is why my opinion stands.

Well it's a possibility, I mean I hear David Hasslehoff is big over there.

But I think the process went something like this:

    Ministry -> The Puppets -> mind.in.a.box -> And One -> E Nomine

The Hellkite tail always drops the Drake Sword and there is no good sword for running past it. The Claymore is out on the bridge itself I'm pretty sure and you need to have the Hellkite gone from the area to reach it and that's the only good sword in that area. Also, the Claymore is always there. Speaking of the Claymore it's basically the best non-uber greatsword so everyone should pick it up. Balder Side Sword is also good for a normal straight sword if range isn't your speed. The Hellkite though isn't a very worthwhile kill all in all because it drops very few souls and no items. If you run under it you get all the benefits of killing it anyways.

He never said he was getting whipped, he just said he was dying a lot which is normal for everyone. Confidence is worth jack and shouldn't be counted for anything. Parrying and riposting gives you a huge number invincibility frames that enemies are obliged to attack you through so you actually gain more breathing room from a successful parry because you can do a backstab or kite out to a one on one on the next enemies' cooldown. So if you're dealing with 4> enemies, which honestly is 99% of the game if you're even the slightest bit cautious, you're better off baiting a parry or backstab because of the frame advantage it offers. Kicking gives you ~20% fewer souls on kill because your damage bonus is so low that it doesn't provoke extra soul gain and you are open to interrupting attacks while attacking that will cancel your attack and deal damage to you. So when you're kicking you're getting a lower payout for a riskier move that uses up more stamina and doesn't guarantee an instant kill. The only time I would recommend not going for a parry is if a) there's a ranged supporter like in Sen's Funhouse, b) you're already surrounded like when you overextend like an idiot, c) when you're sneaking in for a backstab or d) when you have the Zweihander. Kicking is a PvP mechanic and doesn't really gain you much in PvE, even rolling out of a group of enemies is safer if you know where to roll. There should be no argument. Honestly, I'm starting to see what Sfor-chan was talking about with the autist comment.

But they're different games and you should play them differently. That's the fun part.

WHOA WHOA WHOA HOL UP HOL UP HOL UP

If I wanted to do that I'd tell him to shoot the Hellkite Dragon's tail for the Drake Sword, take the Master Key and slap Havel's shit for his ring, then kill the Black Knight in the Basin for his Halberd FUCK YOU I LIKE POLEARMS

but I tend to assume people don't have the patience to do things the ULTRABROKE way I do them so I take great care to tailor my tips to what's reasonable thank you very much >:c

My mother appears to have lost my copy of Monsters of the Weimar, which I requested be emailed to my USA address (mk postal system is unreliable). The plan was to read it when I visited for the holidays. Her health has been subpar as of late, so I don't wish to make a fuss of it however... It was really a very expensive novel. I can't just re-order it, it's out-of-print and it's only going up in price.

Disappointing, to say the least. This softcover reportedly contains The Sadist by Karl Berg, A Study in Sadism by George Godwin, as well as a rare work on Fritz Haarmann. Der Sadist! Background information: Der Sadist documented the confessions of Peter Kurten prior to his execution; just two English copies of the original novel exist. For a long while, I thought this novel was unattainable. And then I found the Weimar compilation, high in price but least it was attainable.

I'm not certain I will ever get over this.

I meant for your own personal builds but whatever. They make you look like a doof, they are aesthetically worse than basically all of the swords.

omg. I'd be fuckin' heartbroken. But yeah it's hard to bug somebody when they're already feeling meh.

Any pdfs available? I know it's not quite the real thing but at least you'd get to read them.

Lol I don't run those for personal builds, I was just trying to outdo you :B My personal build is quality whatever-the-fuck-I-feel-like-at-the-time, with as much END as my choice of clothing dictates.

Finally, for the first time in weeks I'm awake before noon and have time to enjoy the day.

No, no pdfs. I suppose I will have to run a search on the entire house, hope no one threw it out thinking it merely a raggedy old book. The one we ordered was used.

If you love sleeping 6-8 hours, I definitely see the issues.
