And neither is any game that has been or ever will be made.

I think it's a great idea for those who like it. After all I'd rather there be more options in terms of available gaming solutions than less.

i get that pokemon getting closer to real life is a cool thing to people but to me this game just has the illusion of that rather than being that. its kinda like the uncanny valley in a way. pmon video games are more immersive than this even though this is closer to "irl" pokemon. at least to me. that might stem from my bias towards mobile games, or my lack of interest in pokemon spin-offs, or my lack of interest in innovation, or my lack of interest in virtual reality and vr type things. idk whatever its not for me play it if you want idgaf

I don't think anyone in their right mind is actually considering this a "vr" or "immersive" Pokemon experience. People get to go outside and use their phone to make Pokemon magically appear "at their location". It's the very definition of a gimmick, but not all gimmicks have to be a bad thing. Think of this a stepping stone to something better. If this works out for them and makes them tons of cash, you can bet they aren't going to stop either making new ones or improving the platform.

This is just the nature of new concepts/ideas. I know this isn't anywhere near the same. But I can remember people just tearing down blizzard for making a DIGITAL card game. Oh the audacity of having to pay for VIRTUAL cardboard that can't be traded??? Lo and behold those people are eating their words when Blizzard made butt-tons of money off of Hearthstone.

If they want to make a Pokemon game like this, I say more power to em. Tearing them down at this stage will do nothing for the success of the series and in all honesty, most people's opinions probably won't mean jack. Micro transactions will determine the success of this game. Which in most large games nowadays will carry their success with close to no effort. Believe me they are going to make a mint off of this, and when this becomes outdated they will do it again. So let's just see how it goes.

then maybe i dont understand why people are interested in this. regardless of that it does nothing for me.

im not opposed to this until it starts encroaching on main pokemon titles and since sun and moon are on the horizon that doesnt seem to be happening.

The problem with that is you are NEVER going to actually know if "X" project is interfering with "Y" project (eyy pokemon puns). The only thing you will ever really have in that regard is speculation, which is rarely (if ever) accurate.

The spinoffs haven't done it yet, so I see no reason to expect that they will.

well i mean like if in the future a main pokemon game is on mobile or has some gimmick that involves finding pokemon irl. like theres been speculation about pokemon going to console in recent years and i dont want that. i want absolutely zero change to how pokemon games are put out (ie handheld only) though there a lot of things in-game i would like to see change. pokemon is at home on handhelds and i dont think theres any reason to change that. and its easy to raise a cautious eyebrow at things like pokemon go in this age when things that never seemed like they would change are changing.[DOUBLEPOST=1467860932][/DOUBLEPOST]
yeah but the spin offs are totally isolated. this is a brand new thing on the the ever enticing mobile platform with things that apparently some people have been wanting for a while. there may not be any reason to presume that something will happen in the future, but theres also no reason i cant have some minor concerns for a possible future.

The Pokemon Company and Nintendo would be plum stupid to ever make a main-line Pokemon game not exclusive to the Nintendo systems. Consoles may be "weird", I agree, but millions of people, vocally or not, want to see more Pokemon games with the graphics and performance as what can be allotted them by not being limited by handheld technology. But I'm willing to stake that Pokemon on handhelds will be where the most money will ever come in. Portability is a big part of the experience of Pokemon.

As for Pokemon Go, the appeal to me is combining the excitement of catching Pokemon (complete with honestly good 3D visuals) and exploring the areas around us. Obviously not everyone will enjoy or like that latter part, but it's what The Pokemon Company is staking on. I will say that I have nowhere near as much excitement for Go as I do any of the main-line games, but that doesn't mean I can't find a little bit of enjoyment from it time-to-time, and I think it is especially benefited by a social aspect: gathering people to go explore together while also catching Pokemon.

I bought a car yesterday. Red 2002 Mustang. Trying to balance between extreme excitement and fear of wrecking it.

    I mean, there's piracy
You can also probably get a legit key for free through your school
And then there's a subreddit that sells them for like $15 I think? I've read about it, not sure what it's called
Your school is the best bet, they'll give you a copy of Education edition which is essentially Pro

So I've gone back to Diablo 3 (God help me) on PS4 and I am going for the Platinum + Paragon 800. To anyone that hasn't played the game, that is essentially the "soft" level cap, on a game that basically has no level cap. At that point you've put 50 points into every available "skill tree" (although its more like a circle thingy, whatever).

If anyone has the game and wants free gold or items, I have more than I would ever need at this point. Times like 1000. Someone send help, this is a terrible idea but I can't stop. (jk its fun tho, don't send help that'll take time away from beating this)
