They were soon in the city and needless to say, it was absolutely showing signs of destruction. "Whoa..." Zidane said in surprise.

 

"To think I did the same when I was Sin........" Jecht sighed, Rikku simply thought about the destruction of her Home.

 

Zidane ran on ahead until he came to a house with a destoryed bacolony and two clowns had stepped out as Zidane pulled his daggers. "What did you do here!?" Zidane dmanded to the two strange clowns, Zorn and Thorn.

 

"It is them again!" Zorn said to his twin, Thorn told him, "Most persistent, they are!" "Black mages!" They shouted and walked away and two black mages appeared, shouting, "Kill!" They jumped down and one cast a fire on Rikku, but Jecht protected her.

 

Zidane's feet suddenly moved into action as he used his natural speed as his feet splashed down on the wet ground, daggers drawn to slice at one of the Mages and was behind said mage before turning around to slice down at the back as the Mage fell.

 

"The general will punish you for this!" Zorn shouted at them, Thorn shouted as well, "Yes! Very scary, it is, when the general gets mad!" They left, Rikku shouted at them, "Get back here!!!" She tried to run after them, but slipped and hurt her ankle. Chappu bandaged her ankle.

 

"Think you can continue on Rikku?" Zidane asked his fellow comrade and thief-in-arms, his mind chuckled at that thought as he never really considered it.

 

Rikku nodded and drank a potion. "This minor injury is nothing to worry about."

 

"Then let's continue on." Zidane said and ran on ahead as they were running up a great flight of steps as some civialinns came down, one Buremcian named Dan spoke to Freya about the King retreating as well as the villagers to a safe place as he was doing the same, he did do a small outburst at Vivi but Freya assured him that Vivi was on their side as the proceeded onwards and the door to teh castle was blocked by rubble until she leapt up to the balconly

"You gotta be kidding me..." Zidane muttered to himself, he was good at jumping, a trait needed for his skills, the others would be different. "You guys find a way up, I'm going on ahead." He said before he started jumping up with relative ease, as if the rain didn't even slow him down.

 

Rikku hopped on Jecht's back, Jecht climbed the statue and followed his comrades.

 

Freaya and Zidane hdi ebhind statues, hearing something very familar, it was Queen Brahne.

 

Rikku and Jecht hid behind statues as well, listening to the Queen when a mysterious man with long silver hair appeared. Rikku gasped, she had seen the man before in the castle.

 

"Who on earth is that?" Zidane asked out of hsi mouth as Beatrix stood there. "Your majesty, it seems they have escaped."She said as the mysterious man smiled.

"Rats are and always be will be rats, they will find a new hole to hide in." He said to the two of them as Brahne had smiled. "Then what do you purpose Kuja?"

 

"You're absolutely right, dear queen." Kuja smiled at them. "I believe that they have probably moved to the sandy tree house by now. By the way, where is Minister Seymour? Back at the castle?"

 

Brahne shrugged. "He said he had other matters to attend to, whatever they are, they don't concern me." She said, waving her fan.

"Then we must head Clerya then?" Breatrix asked before one solider of Burmecia came forward. "I shall avenge our people!" he said as Beatrix brushed her wet hair aside. "I commend your bravery, but do you hope to stand against me, Beatrix?" She asked as the lone Burmecian gasped. "B-Beatrix?"

Zidane mentally kicked himself. "He's gotta get himself killed, come on!" He said loudly as he ran out with his comrades. "Go on ahead, your king needs you." Freya said as the Burmecian left.

 

Everyone pulled their weapons, Rikku glowed in a blue light and changed to her most powerful dressphere, Machine Maw.

 

Auron stood with his sword ready, he could tell Beatrix was a skilled foe

 

Zidane readied himself as Beatrix pulled out Save the Queen. "You may leave these to me your Highness." She said as Brahne had just nodded and walked back to the airship, the Red Rose

"So, who wishes to sample my blade?" Beatrix asked.

 

Jecht ran forward and attacked, Kuja stayed behind and watched.

 

Beatrix brought her sword up to defend himself and wasn't struggling at much, she wasn't known a sthe greatest Alexandrian swordswoman for nothign as she conuterattacks with a unatural spped. "You are too rough with your swordsmanship." She simply answered as Zidane ran foward bringing his daggers to attempt as side attack but Beatrix blocked it. "SNeaky but nothing I can't handle, he pushe dhim back as Zidane flipped over, cursing a bit.
