The Sanctuary

Larenzo grinned. "Yes, dear old daddykins. We have to get ready. They might be on us any second now."

 

Skidding around a corner, Eva slammed into a kid with angel wings. They reminded her of Elevir....she hesitated, then coughed, getting back up and taking off. She had to find Larz, before he found out about her. Trying to stop, she realize she was too close to him and turned, springing off her feet to tackle whatever was nearest in the alley.

 

Drake heard some running "sounds like somebody is headed our way i wonder how it cou" Drake said but then was interrupted by Eva and got tackled down

 

Rei wasn't used to using utensils to eat, but for the sake of not causing a scene she followed Leon's example. She ate fairly quickly, and decided that sitting down and eating was far better than hunting and cooking her own meals.
Suddenly, her ears twitched, and her head shot up. She could've sworn she heard a faint crash coming from the opposite side of the wall of the restaurant.
"Did you hear that?" she asked Leon.

 

Leon finished the food currently on his fork and put his cutlery down on his plate with the knife and fork parallel to each other. "Hear what?", Leon asked being unable to hear the sound over his cutlery being put down as well as the sound of chatter from other people in the restaurant.

 

"That...crash. Or thud. Something hitting the ground," Rei said, now alert.
"Sounds like it came from the other side of the wall, too."
She continued to listen closely, and thought she picked up a voice. Rei wanted to investigate, but she wasn't sure what she'd find, and she also didn't want to abandon Leon after learning they were both running from the same thing.

 

Leon stood up and left enough money for the food on the table. "Want to check it out?", he asked as he was already planning on doing so. He wasn't afraid of his curiosity and he knew that he would be able to escape capture and was sure that Rei would be able to as well if it came down to it.

 

She growled, her eyes gleaming as she held him down and stared at the rest of the group. That girl...and Larenzo. She snarled, her claws digging into the guy under her, her eyes burning.

 

"Read my mind," Rei said, getting up and starting out of the restaurant. She knew Leon would follow her.
"If it's people from the Orphanage...I'll be damned if I let them capture me. Even if I have to fight with just my fangs and claws, I'm staying free," she thought.

 

Rea gasped when she saw Eva. "A panther? How is this possible?" She shook her head and quickly took her flute out and started playing, trying to freeze Eva in time.

 

Drake calmly looked up at the pathner that had jumped out of nowhere "well this is.......unexpected. Who would have guessed that a panther would randomly jump out of nowhere and pin me down." Drake said as he looked at Eva not making an effort to try and push her off of him

 

Leon followed after Rei, his main concern was that it was those who wanted to take them back to that place, but even he knew that they would have to take the entire town as well. This place was as if it was made for them. Before he could think further on this matter he had caught up with Rei outside the restaurant and was following her in the direction of the sound.

 

Rei saw Leon come up behind her. She continued along the side of the restaurant until she reached the side alley. She suddenly felt on edge, stood with her back to the wall, and sniffed the air.
She held up her arm, preventing Leon from moving forward. "Two or three people and," she said, and then growled, "a big cat."
Rei's ears were pointed forward, and her tail was swishing back and forth slightly. She was ready to fight, if it came to that.

 

Leon stood silent trying to hear or see anything. Now that what was near was identified he was thinking of different ways of handling the situation, escape and other things under what three people and a big cat are doing.

 

Rei glanced at Leon.
"Do you want to check it out or wait for something to happen?" she asked.
Her hand was ready to grab the claw weapon off her belt.

 

"I think we should confirm the situation with our eyes first", Leon answered stepping infront of Rei and closer to where the big cat was to see it before action.

 

Eva growled, her tail swiping anxiously. More people coming, the air feeling like syrup....She parted her teeth, panting, looking around. Where was he...All she had wanted to do was follow Larenzo, and now she was stuck in the middle of something. Struggling, shivering, she shifted, stepping off the guy into a hawk, flapping her wings, trying to fly away. Except she still had a tail. Fantastic.

 

Drake sighed and grabbed her tail before she could get away "wait a minute . I was innocently standing there and you happened to pounce on me. I want answers. Don't make me rip this tail off" Drake said tightening the grip he had on the tail

 

"Hell, Leon, did you see that? Cat turned into a damn bird," Rei growled. She put her hand into the claw weapon. "I'm not sure what's going on here, but...the people in that alley are not on the same side," she said, glancing back at him, continued, "Do you want to jump in?"

 

Screeching, she looked back, her golden eyes piercing him. Maybe she could peck his eyes out....screeching again, she tried to shift, but she was stuck, she had nothing left. Scratching towards him with her talons, she tried to peck at him to make him let her go.
