The War of Angels and Demons

"That story I heard.... It sounded like us, but you let me live after you found me. Why do humans change the truth?"

 

"Because they're a race of barbarians. They change the truth to justify their so called crusade against us demons."

 

'To think I was once a part of that race.....' Maya thought to herself.

 

"Everything's loaded on the cart, so let's get back to the manor."

 

Maya went to the cart and sat down.

 

Zeliek drove the cart back to the manor. As soon as he got the cart on the manor grounds, he cast off his disguise.

 

Maya cast off her disguise as well.

 

"Now you see why I hate humans."

 

"Yeah......."

 

"You don't have to worry about them, though. I won't let any one of those barbarians lay a hand on you. Even if I fall in battle, I'll be back at your side the next day."

 

Maya smiled and hugged him, feeling a kick from the baby.

 

"Not too long now until you give birth. I wonder how many kids we'll have."

 

"You won't believe humans take nine months to give birth."

 

"Must be a testament to their weakness. Demons only take two weeks to give birth."

 

Maya sighed. She took her ring and stared at it.

 

"Where did you get that ring?"

 

"It's sort of a family heirloom. I've had it for as long as I remember....."

 

"What happened to your family?"

 

"They were killed..... by low-class demons. Deep down, I still hate them, but I'm a demon now. I'm sure they were still alive, they would disowned me just for having fallen in love with a demon."

 

"Would you like to speak with their souls?"
