Tristan was speechless. He had not expected that in the least. "I.... I don't know.... But somehow I get the feeling that this isn't going to turn out well."

Nas jumped from rooftop to rooftop. The summon's presence was becoming stronger. Nas made one giant leap and stopped on a building not far from the gate. In the distance, Nas could make out her ancient foe, Rubira.
"Rubira?! So you have a new master, then. What business do you have here?"

The guards were still unsure about the boy, but a sudden feeling of tranquility came over them. They felt as though they could trust him. And so they told him what happened.

"I see..." Said Zack as the guards finished their story. "Can one of you take me so I can meet this general?"

One of the guards nodded before leading Zack off to the secret chamber.

 

Ruby glared up on the roof and saw the person she had felt, the one she had hoped it would not be: Naserrea. Ruby hissed, her tongue splitting at the tip. She bared opened her hands, which soon became claws, just as her teeth were becoming fangs, but her legs stayed legs and she still had the overall appearance of a human. "My busssiness isss none of your concsern!"

 

"But it is my concern because, depending on your 'buisssness', I may have to kill you." Nas glanced at the nearby Fairrel. "Is that your new master? She's quite different from your previous one."

 

Ruby took a step in front of Gemini, as if to defend her from Naserrea's gaze. "No, thiss Crosssbreed iss not my massster. Apparently, you have a new one yourssself." Ruby wanted nothing less than to rip Naserrea's head off, but she restrained herself, avoiding trouble for Lanan's sake. "I don't ssseek trouble from you, let usss be."

 

"I actually do have a new master. He's a shaper and a prince!" Nas exclaimed proudly without realizing that she had attracted a small crowd. Nas glanced once again at the crossbreed. "So then if she is not your new master, then who is she? It's not like you to protect the innocent. And for that matter, who is your new master if not her. Don't tell me you've ended up with another demon, now."

 

Ruby almost laughed at the way of Naserrea described her new master. She herself didn't care what his social status was. "She'ss a companion of my Massster, I'm protecting her at hisss order. And no, I have not ended up with a demon, otherwissse you'd be dead right now. Massster Luna would not want me caussing a ssscene," as she said it, she noticed they were causing a scene anyway. Great, Ruby's body became slightly less tense.

 

Charles and Raphael had been quiet ever since the pressence of the demon was gone, and now, as they neared the city Charles looked up and seen that the gateS to the city were shut and locked. "Why are the gates shut?!" he motioned towards Raphael to look up.

"I don't know, but I bet the lock them at night..." he said, but Charles was paying attention, he noticed others outside the gates...and he walked towards them, almost forgetting about the other two.

Sonia had been thinking about the figure in the window when she heard many people infront of her, as she raced towards the crowd, she looked up and noticed two figures on the rooftops. As she finished looking up, she tapped a man beside her on the shoulder "Um excuse me sir, what is going on?" he looked kind of young...

Rosine had been watching the fight on the rooftops for quite some time now, hiding a few houses away, she played with her Scythe, waiting for something to happen...but she doubted anything would happen....

 

Nas felt a little less tense just knowing that Rubira's master was not a demon. She glanced down below only to notice the crowd for the first time. "Oh....." she said quietly. Master probably wouldn't want me to cause scene either. Come to think of it, I didn't even ask for master's permission to leave him..... Uh-oh...... Nas transformed into her ferret form, causing her left behind clothes to blow away in the wind. As fast as she could, Nas ran back to her master. Rubira would have to wait.

 

Ruby jumped at Naserrea's departure. All of a sudden, she felt a strong negative energy. "Demon?" She hissed, she also felt something else. A presence that was the complete opposite of the Demons'. "Let'sss go," she said, grabbing Gemini's hand and pulling her to the crowd, not bothering to turn back to her complete human form. As she rushed through the crowd, she bumped into a girl, and continued without apologizing.


Lanan looked up to see people headed around the corner. There was something going on. He would have followed to see what was going on, but he didn't feel like it and buried his face into his arms.

 

Rosine looked away for a second before looking back up at the figures and watched as one of them turned into an animal and then fled, leaving her clothes behind. And as he studied the other, she noticed the creature feel her pressence...she fled also, and Rosine. Couldnt help but let out a laugh...

Back on the ground, Sonia finished up her talk with the man, which had given her little information. As she looked up, she watched as one of the creatures jumped off of the roof and ran into her, as she fell to the ground, the person just ran off without saying anything..."That was not a human or even close to one..."she said before getting back up.

 

Gemini hurried her steps to keep up with Ruby. She wanted to ask what was wrong but for once bit her tounge and kept herself busy scanning the crowd for Lanan while making apologies whenever they ran into someone..

 

Ruby pulled Gemini, probably a little harder than was comfortable for the girl, but she didn't let go until she passed a corner and saw him, crouched in front of a wall, like he was crying. "Masster Luna?" She immediately let go of Gemini and ran to him. "Are you alright?!" When he looked up, she realized he wasn't crying, but his eyes were incredibly sad. "M-Masster?"
"Hey, Ruby, what are you doing here? I thought I told you to stay outside!" He said, standing up slowly. He had trouble raising his voice in his current mindset.
"Something happened," She replied, her claws and fangs turning into a human's again.
"What?" he asked immediately, looking at Gemini. "Are you okay?"

 

"Yes, I'm fine. What's wrong?" Gemini asked back, surprised by how sad he seemed as well as Ruby's open concern. "

 

"Oh, uh nothing. I've just been thinking..." he avoided her eyes and rubbed one hand through his hair. "So what happened, Ruby?"
"We were attacked by a Summon. Her name's Naserrea. We fought many times during the War." Ruby answered, saving the details about the other Demon for later.
Lanan's surprise was obvious as his eyes widened and his mouth gaped, "Wait, what?!"
Ruby immedietaly assured him nothing big happened. "She just confronted me and left, to her new master I suppose."
Lanan thought of Alira and Ekaf and became worried. "Is her new master a Demon?"
Ruby shook his head, "I didn't see him, but she said he was a Shaper and a Prince. Like I care about her mast-" She stopped upon seeing Lanan's expression, "What's wrong? Did I say something?"
Lanan couldn't believe it. "We need to find them, NOW."
"Why? I can't promise it won't result in a more dangerous confrontation between me and her." She hissed the word, emphasizing her dislike for Naserrea.
"It's important! Her master's who I'm looking for!" Lanan yelled it, his hopes rising. "Wait, Gemini...there are some things I didn't tell you about what's going on...some pretty big things. I can't guarantee you'll be safe if you continue with me."

 

Gemini looked out towards the crowded street as if she wasn't paying attention. "I don't mind danger. But you will have to tell me what you've left out later." she looked back at them, putting on her smile. "Let's find him. But first..." she looked at a poster near by. "He is the princess's sister right?" she asked, pointing to the two pictures.

 

Nas finally made it back to her master. Once there, she transformed. "Master, I'm sorry for leaving you. I will accept any punishment you give me."

Tristan nearly jumped from hearing Nas' voice. He turned his head to look at her. "It's okay Na-" Tristan's mouth hung open. Once again Nas stood in the alley nude. Tristan quickly looked away. "Seriously Nas? Seriously? What, did hand out your clothes to the homeless this time?"

"Hmmm?" Said Nas while examining herself. "Oh.... Whoops.... I think I left them behind."

"You left them behind..." Tristan said flatly, "Just please tell me you didn't do anything to attract attention."

"Well, actually-"

As soon as those two words left Nas' mouth, Tristan felt like banging his head against the wall. Great, he thought as he listened to Nas' story, That's just great.

 

Lanan smiled when he heard Gemini wasn't scared or leaving. "Yeah, apparently," he said, looking at the posters. "That's who I"m looking for, Ruby, and I bet it's that Summon's master too!"
"Hm" was all Ruby said, a scowl on her face.
"Can you lead us to them?" He asked.
"Yes, if you wish, but I'm still against it." Well not completely, I may have a chance to tear her head off yet. She thought as she turned around and walked down the street. "Follow me," She said.
Lanan walked behind her, deep in thought.

 

Eleanor grunted in agreement, shoving everything into their newly aquired pack quickly. "We should start to head toward the gate ourselves," she started. "As soon as they open it at dawn and there are enough people, we should get out of here."

 

"There's no guarantee that they will even open it at dawn. Especially now that Nas has pretty much made it known that I'm still in the town. That's why they closed the gates in the first place. Then again, Nas does seem to have some talent when it comes to jumping onto rooftops. perhaps she could jump us over the wall."

"If I may, Master Tristan, now may not be the time to do that."

"And why is that?"

Nas looked at the ground. "Well you see... I think you may have been robbed of your item of great power."

"What item of great power?"

"You know.... the um.... well.... the crystal....."

Tristan sat up straight. "WHAT!" Tristan searched all his pockets for the box. It was gone. "Why didn't you mention this sooner, Nas?"

Nas trembled slightly. "Well, I tried to but..." Nas told Tristan what happened. When she was finished, Tristan released a sigh of exhaustion.

"Nas turn back into your ferret form. We can't have you going around like that. First thing is first. We got to buy you some clothes since you seem to lose yours ten times a day. After that.... Well I don't know what we do after that. I can't be seen out there without a full blown riot taking place." Tristan looked in Nas' direction. she had already turned into her other form. Well, that's a relief. Thought Tristan.

 

Gemini shook her head and laughed quietly to herself as they followed Ruby. Everyone is looking for this boy.
