Ruby looked towards the girl called Eleanor, "The rat and I'll protect you two. You and Tristan should rest." She hated being nice, but her Master ordered her to stay with them and giving them some rest would help in the long run. Besides, something about Eleanor made Ruby not hate her like she did others. She didn't like the girl, but she didn't dislike her, either.

 

Tristan glanced at Ruby and raised an eyebrow. He then grinned. He didn't trust Ruby. There was just something about her. But as long as Lanan was on his side, he didn't have to worry. "How sweet of you Ruby." Tristan then turn his head to Nas. "Nas, keep an eye on her." Tristan waited for Nas to nod before doing his best to relax.

Hester shook his head. We be staying away from that isle. Me boat can't navigate them shallow waters. You be heading there by boat, big enough for two.

 

"Oh," Aduial breathed. She wondered why everyone was so sensitive about Sin Isle. It was Aidou's home, she understood that; but surely it didn't home just Vampires. Right?

 

Ruby narrowed her eyes at Naserrea at then hissed at Tristan, "You don't trust me, human?" She felt her anger rising at the lack of trust. She didn't care that he didn't trust her. "Master Luna ordered me to help you. Do you not trust his orders? Or do you not trust my bond to him? Or is it him you don't trust?"

 

Finally Gemini saw the town Nentrion and as she got closer she also spotted Sameire and the men bothering her. She slowed down at the gates so she wasn't approching at breakneck speed. "Sameire! There you are." she called, flashing the girl a wide smile as she caught her breath.

 

Lanan stopped as he reached Gemini. So this is the Princess of Ilianam, Sameire? He thought, eyeing the girl. He could see a slight resemblance to Tristan. He then looked at her companion, a Cylian, wondering who it was.

 

Eleanor sighed and tried her best to use the pack as something to rest her head on. Shutting her eyes, she tried to clear her mind of all thoughts, but the task seemed impossible.

Could all her childhood stories be true? Better yet, could she even remember them if they were? She tried to forget her past day by day, yet she didn't do that as often since she'd been with Tristan.

He's just another job, she thought, crossing her arms and frowning. A very important and more interesting one than the usuals, but it's money to protect him, and... that's all that matters right now, no matter what that old woman said about destiny... fate doesn't exist.

 

Tristan chuckled to himself and leaned back against the wall. Tristan began to close his eyes. "Neither of the above, Ruby. There is nothing that you can do other than obey your master's wishes, So It's not like I don't trust your word right now. However, It's you as a person that I don't trust. Your attitude is one that says a million words. You care for nothing in this world, save your master, and if it wasn't for that fact that Lanan was your master, then you would probably despise him as well. You hate this world and you just want to see it burn. You have no real friends. You have no True friends. No friends that would come running to your side to save you from danger, not because you are a tool of war, but because you are you. You live a lonely life. No friends, No real goals, No nothing. What a sad and pitiful life that must be. It is for that reason that I do not trust you for who you are. Only the foolish man would."

 

Eleanor listened to Tristan's words, amazed at his lack of tact. Well, I've never heard him be so honestly blunt... I wonder if you realizes that Nas might feel the exact same way?

 

Sameire turned around to see who had called her. She was surprised to see that it was Gemini. "What is she-" The man's strong hand on her shoulder cut off her question. Irritated now, she drew her dagger, flipped it to hold it backwards, and held it against the man's gut. "Let go. You're really starting to get on my nerves."

Shocked, the man took a step backwards, releasing Sameire. "To think that we once believed that you were good." He said to her back.

"Spare me," Sameire was now in a bad mood. She pursed her lips, shook her head with a sigh, and went towards Gemini. She noted that Eve stayed close behind her.

 

Nas carefully listened to Tristan's words. She had never thought about it, but her life was much like that too. She was just a tool of war. She had no real friends. What was it like to have a friend? Would she ever have the chance to find out?

 

Gemini looked at the man again. "Well that was odd." she commented, turning her attention to Sameire. "Hello again. This is Lanan." she introduced him.

 

Ruby hissed louder at Tristan, but didn't say anything. If her anger rose anymore, she would end up disobeying Lanan's order and peel the skin of Tristan's body. She smiled at the thought. She didn't need friends.

Lanan nodded towards Sameire and then hesitated. He then put his fist over his stomach and bowed. "Um, it's a pleasure, Princess..." He wasn't sure how to deal with royalty, but he didn't want to offend her. He was ready to attack the man who laid a hand on her, but she scared him off before he had a chance. He hoped the introductions would be over soon.

 

"We met your brother and are here to take you back to him." Gemini explained, remembering they needed to get going. "If you still want to find hiim I mean." she added hastily.

 

Sameire inclined her head to Lanan. "Wait... You found my brother?" Sameire's attention was caught by Gemini's words. "Of course I want to be with him! Is he okay? Has he been hurt? Did he say anything about me?"

 

"He's fine don't worry." Gemini assured her. "We better hurry if we want to make good time." she said, looking back the way they'd run. It hadn't been to long a journey with the two of them running but she knew Sameire couldn't go that far that fast.

 

Lanan knew what Gemini was thinking. Sameire, as a human, wasn't as fast as they were. "We need to go back to Tristan as fast as possible. There's a lot you need to catch up on, Princess." He looked around, awkwardly. "Uh, I guess, I mean, I should carry you...to save time, of course." That was a wierd suggestion, especially to a princess.

 

Sameire tilted her head slightly, looking at Lanan. There was just something about him that made her want to smile, but she couldn't. "If you think that's best," She said, keeping her formality about her. "Then I consent to it."

 

Eleanor slept into an ugly sleep, uneven and distempered. She desperately tried to keep her eyes closed, determined to get some rest.

 

Gemini smiled at the two, glad that although they were both obviously awkward about the idea, they were still going through with it. "Alright so let's go. If we're fast, maybe we'll even make it there before daybreak."
