The world of Laifel

Flame Burst was watching the two figures that apparently led the villagers. Maybe they would give him a message to transport back to Trenyan? He wasn't sure. But he knew that he had taken too long to come back to Triwn. It didn't help that he had to take a detour.

Lythorne waited patiently, his swords raised. He and Trenyan arrived in the forest, but Trenyan left for a few minutes, saying that he needed to check how many Lizards were still hiding in the woods. Lythorne at first thought he wanted to run away, but that would serve him no purpose. Why would the crossbreed pay him and then escape?

"Ok", said Trenyan as he came back. "There are Lizards indeed. Many of them. My guess is that they turned the woods into a highway. They keep moving through it. Well, time to put and end to this. Today, many Lizards will die."
"I guess this means we're getting the job done now."
"Yes. Before I forget, here's the second part of your payment." then, looking towards the east, into the trees, he said : "Damn... sorry, Flame Burst, I found help quicker than I thought, and I can't afford to waste any time. Sorry to put you in danger. Hopefully you can find me when you return."
"Huh? What in blazes are you talking about?"

Trenyan quickly explained that his wolf hasn't returned yet, and was instructed to return to the forest. But when they're done, there may not be a forest.
"He'll be fine. There's nothing my wolf cannot outrun, and not much he cannot tear to shreds. Very well. Time make everything burn."

And this was Trenyan's plan. Considreing the countless Lizards moving through the forest, he decided to burn it all down. He hoped to kill many Lizards, but that's not all.
It will definitely attract attention, and, with some luck, alert the nearby villages that they are under a great threat. Also, it will disrupt the Lizard's plans. If they do not retreat, be it temporarily, their forces might be discovered, and their real numbers known. Humans will come see the fire, and if they see Lizards, they'll know.

Trenyan took the items he stole from the store out of his bag. There were torches, lamp oil, and other flammable items. He also had a roll of string, with which he improvised two shortbows by using tree branches. Finally, he had many cheap arrows that he planned to set ablaze, and shoot in the trees.
After sharing the items between him and Lythorne, he said.

"If you have any seconds thought, Lythorne, now would be a good time to talk."
"I don't. Like you said... we'll be either heroes, either imbeciles. Either way, I don't lose anything."

And then, the two warriors started their act. They separated, and moved as quickly as possible. They began setting ablaze trees near the edges of the forest, and tried to cover all the south side of the woods. The movement pattern they planned was in the form of a "S", eventually going deep in the woods, then going back near the edge, to escape, and meet again.

They had to act very fast. This is where their preparations came in handy. The flammable items made it easy to start a big fire. The flaming arrows made it easy to incendiate many trees at once. And, of course, Lythorne's magic excelled at forest destruction. It didn't take much magic to set a tree on fire.
Soon, the night sky was filled with roaring flames, that continously grew, both by natural fire growth, and by more fires being created.

 

Ras'tepa didn't know what to do. He knew she had heard him. What possible lie could he come up with to justify that? She already suspected him of being something other than her real father. Inside his head, the real King was yelling for Ras'tepa to let his daughter go.Oh, well, might as well drop the charade.

"Go to your room, human," he made sure to whisper the word human so only she heard him. He looked at the guard and gave an order, "Escort her to her room, leave two guards in there with her and post three more outside her door. She's under lockdown."
The general gasped and whispered, "yes, sir...right away." And walked towards Sameire with an apologetic look on his face.

 

Eleanor readied her blades as the Leechers came at her. She screamed a loud battle cry, shoving her daggers into the nearest two Leechers, throwing them into the bog. Looking to the side, she lifted twelve of the nearest rocks and sent them flying right at the Leechers foreheads, shoving the rocks deep into their brain. As they collapsed, she made her way quickly to deeper waters.

"Tristan!" she shouted again, still not seeing her companion.

 

"I won't let you get away with this," Sameire swore. "I'll stop you myself if I have to." She knew it was no use to figh the general, so she let him lead her to her room.

BIC:

"Come baack to me when you're done, general, I have more orders." Ras'tepa called after the general. INSOLENT HUMANS! he thought in anger.

"I'm sorry, Princess." The general told Sameire as they walked towards her room., "but an order is an order. You three!" He yelled as he saw some soldiers walking down the hall.
"Find two other soldiers. Two of you will guard inside her room and the other three will guard the outside. The Princess is on lockdown, don't question the order." As they reached Sameire's room, the other guards arrived and posted themselves as ordered.
The general turned back around and looked for the king, silently cursing him for his actions.

 

Naserrea had finished with her clothing. she looked back down at the man before her. So this is my new master. She thought with a smile. she got on her knees and put his head in her lap. She started to gently stroke his head with her hand and also hum a soothing tune.

Great! This was just what I need right now, a forest fire. someone must have done this. thought Karchit.
"Out of the woods!" Ordered Karchit. he would lose a good few thousand. but his army would still remain in the tens of thousands.

 

OOC: I swear I hit "preveiw post"...................

BIC: "Wait," Sameire objected. "Please... let me stay in my brother's room...."

 

Eleanor cried out, her injured ankle collapsing underneath her. She gritted her teeth and moved forward anyway. Where the hell is he? she thought, searching all around her as she went.

 

The King said HER room...do I risk it? The general turned back around and gave another order. "Take her to the former prince's room, but keep yourselves posted in the same positions and do not let her leave. Now if you'll let me, Princess," The general said as he bowed, "I have to take my leave." He left as the other guards led her to Tristan's room.

 

Sameire went to Tristan's bed right away and picked up the book. Ignoring the guards, she set to work translating more of the book. By this point, she had some of the code memorized, and the translating went a bit faster.

 

Slowly, Tristan regained consciousness. Music? where's it- Tristan sat up straight. The pain in his left was still there. That's right, I still have an arrow lodged in me. wait a second..... I'm alive. So she saved me? Tristan suddenly realized he wasn't the only one here. "Eleanor?" Tristan said as he turned around. He was surprised to find someone else there.

"Eleanor? Is that what I should refer to you as then?"

Tristan raised an eyebrow Who is she? What did she mean by that? Wait! why is there another human here?
"Who are you? What are you doing here?"

"I've been called Naserrea, sir Eleanor, and I am here because you found me."

What is up with this girl? Wondered Tristan.
"Have you seen a crossbreed around here?"

"I don't thinks so. Is she important?"

Tristan began to worry as he struggled to his feet. "Eleanor!" he yelled out. "Eleanor!"

Naserrea stood up to and copied Tristan. "Eleanor!"

 

Eleanor stopped, hearing her name called. She turned in the direction of the noise, limping toward a small peice of dry land. A moment later, she could see Tristan... and someone else next to him.

"I'm here," she groaned, stepping up onto the little island. "Who's... who's this?"

 

"Hey," Sameire addressed the gaurds in the room. "What do you know of that legendary war? The one with... those monsters."

 

OOC: Pezz, that made me laugh lol

BIC: The general could see the King in the same spot he was before, he was still shaking. "I'm back, King Bryne."

Ras'tepa turned around when he heard Bryne's name. "Good, did you post soldiers to guard Sameire?"

"Yes, Sir, exactly as you ordered." The King didn't ask what room she was in, so the general didn't answer. "As I was saying before, having soldiers go into the Desert and the Bogs is dangerous. They'll be annilihated by the LIzards and Leechers."

"Alright, here's what you will do and, for the final time: Do not question my orders." The King glared down on the general as he spoke. "I want 5 groups of soldiers. One group will be assigned the Cat Clan, another the Wolf, and the remaining three will go to all the Human Kingdoms. Then you shall form a couple more groups of soldiers. These soldiers will go across Demoir gathering all the jewels as I have previously ordered."

The general was puzzled, "What should the 5 groups do with the Cat and Wolf clans, and the other Kingdoms?"

The two soldiers looked at each other. "The War of Angelens and Demons? It's just that, a legend." One of them replied. "Do you want me to tell you the story?" The other asked, "You must have heard it many times before."

 

"I'm not exactly sure. She was here when I woke up." answered Tristan.

"He found me, and I saved Sir Eleanor." Naserrea said to the crossbreed.

"Would you stop calling me that?"

"But I thought it was alright if I called you-"

"I never said anything of the sort."

Naserrea looked at the ground. "I'm sorry.... It's just that you didn't say no either."

Great, thought Tristan, now I feel bad.
"Look, my name is Tristan. No sir, just Tristan."

Naserrea look back up at Tristan. "Tristan? I see.... I'll refer to you as Tristan without saying sir."

Tristan shook his head and turned his attention back to Eleanor. His side was throbbing, but he ignored it. "You ok, Eleanor?" asked Tristan.

 

Sameire set the book aside. "I'd like to hear it." She agreed with a smile. "There are a couple different versions that I've heard."

BIC: Eleanor smiled at Nasserea. "I see... Well, good to meet you," she said politely. "I'm the Eleanor, as you can see."

She sat down next to Tristan slowly, pulling her right knee up to her chest to examine her ankle. Bits of the tight flesh hung off in strips, blood coating down to her toes. "I'll be fine," she muttered. "It'll just be a bit hard to walk on for a few hours."

 

Tristan frowned at her wound. "That doesn't look fine to me."
Tristan tore off a piece of his sleeve and used it to bandage Eleanor's leg. "There."
The throbbing was getting worse. Tristan still ignored it. Tristan looked ahead and smiled. "Look, we've reach Lake Riverae."

 

"Thank you," Eleanor said, smiling through her pain. "Yeah... that Lake is quite a happy sight right now! How... how about you? You said this woman saved you, but are you hurt?"
