BIC: The soldier closest to Sameire replied, "Well, the legend my grandparents told me when I was kid was something like this:

The War of Anglens and Demons supposedly took place so long ago that it helped shape Demoir to the form it is now. No one knows what started the War. Some say the Demons were trying to enslave, or even eradicate all life in our world. Others say it was just a private war between Demons and Angelens that spilled over into our world.

The Demons were monstrous creatures, just seeing one would give you nightmares. Although, most who saw them didn't live long enough to have a nightmare. The strongest Demons were called Devils and could take the form of Humans. It's a common belief that the Human form was their true form. Angelens were equal in power, but less in number. They also didn't look like nightmares. They were the antithesis to Demons. Their stronger ones also took the forms of humans and were called Angels.

The Lizard Clan aided the Demons in the War and so did the Leechers, for they worshiped the Demons as gods...they still do to this day. During the War, great creatures known were summoned to aid both sides. These were called Summons. It is said only 2 or 3 summons were there at the time of the War, but more exist. Although no one knows how much more. The Summons were sealed into jewels before the War ended. Or maybe even after.

The Demons and Devils were defeating the Angelens until six brave Angels used all their powers to seal the Demons in a 'Demonic Realm'. The seal was made up of six crystals. Each Crystal was entrusted to a different clan or kingdom by the Angelens, but none of them went to the Lizard or Leechers because they aided the Demons. It is said if these crystals ever break, the barrier will collapse and the Demons will pour into our world once again."

As the soldier finished, he looked at Sameire and said, "but of course, it's only a legend, nothing more. It just feeds into the religions of the people."

The other soldier laughed and said, "Like monsters like that can even exist. Leechers are the only demons around here."

 

"I have an arrow stuck in my side. The shaft snapped. I think the leechers make it that way on purpose." Tristan said with a frown "I don't have enough strength left to make a boat for us to cross in though."

OOC: Most normal demons and Angelens have human forms as well.

I thought the original post said only the strongest Demons/Angelens do? Oh well, it's a legend that can be said many different ways, I tried to word it with some facts wrong to emphasize that it's just a legend

 

"I've never seen a Leecher..." Sameire muttered, piecing things together. "Do they have wings?"

 

OOC: The strongest prefer to stay in their human forms. The weakest don't have a human form.

 

"Dammit," Eleanor muttered. "Let me see."

 

OOC: ooo i see now

BIC: "You've never seen a Leecher? I guess as a princess you must've been pretty protected," The soldier who laughed at the War said.

"Of course she hasn't, you moron!" the storytelling Soldier replied, "Leechers stay in the bogs around Lake Riverae, the Nefier Bogs. Why would a Princess ever go there?" He then addressed Sameire, " Those who believe the War really took place also believe that Leechers are minor demons that were left behind during the war. Since then, they've been breeding in the mountains, swamps, Caverns that lead underground, etc.
I just believe they are nasty creatures who refused to evolve since the beginning of time.
They are humanoid creatures without eyelids. Their skin is gray and hangs loosely from their bony body. They have patches of hair and rotten yellow teeth.
Leechers are surprisingly strong. They are cruel creatures that enjoy nothing but killing. They show no mercy to their prey. Leechers do make their own weapons, but even without a weapon, they are dangerous. Upon cornering their prey, a Leecher will bear hug the victim and bite a chunk off the victim's neck. Leechers are feared by all creatures alike."

The other soldier glared at him and then added, "They worship Demons as gods. They are truly nasty and disgusting creatures...even worse than Lizards."

 

Sameire glanced at her translation. "They sound disgusting.... What about Vampires? Are they really as horrid as they're made out to be?" She kept asking questions to play up the innocent-princess act, and also to keep her mind off the darkness of the night.

 

Tristan showed her his wound. "It may be best to leave it for now, because if it snaps again we may not be able to take it out later.

While the other two, were talking amongst themselves, Naserrea was in the process of creating a boat. She called out to the branches of trees and made them grow and tangle till they formed a boat made of twisted branches. Once done the boat snapped off the tree. Naserrea slowly lowered the boat by directing strong air currents underneath the boat.
Tristan will be so proud of me! Naserrea thought happily.

OOC: also in mountains and caves

Edit: never mind. that last bit sounds a lot like something I would write.

 

Eleanor put out a hand anyway and touched the swollen skin next to the arrow's shaft. "It doesn't feel like it's poisoned," she began. "Though your skin is very warm..."

She glanced over at the boat, amazed. "Wow!" she exclaimed. "That's impressive."

 

Tristan looked where Eleanor was looking. "Where did that come from? I could have sworn that that wasn't there before."

 

What a dumb little princess, the "moron" soldier thought.
Before his partner could answer the Sameire's question, he stopped him and said, "I got this. Vampires are people from a cursed kingdom." He finished with a know-it-all smile.

"Is that really all you know?!" the other soldier asked.
"No one knows what exactly Vampires are. They are from a cursed Kingdom, but now live on Sin Isle. They were once a legend, but some of them have decided to live on the mainland alongside us....and supposedly, they DO drink blood...but I've never encountered one here in Tyaom. They are...in a word, superhuman. But they have weaknesses, like sensitivity to light."





The King looked at his general, "Find a Crystal. The Cat Clan will have one, the Wolves another, and the Humans will have 3. If you have to, take every jewel in their possessions, but keep them separated from the others." Ras'tepa knew there was only 5 crystals left, but he didn't know which crystal had already shattered.
How weird....he said 'the humans'... the general noticed.
"Start with the biggest Fairrel tribes and Human Kingdoms and move on the smaller ones. Those are my orders, now carry them out!" Ras'tepa was becoming impatient having to explain everything.
"uh, y-yes, sir!" The general turned around and walked down the hall, thinking about the King's choice of words

 

Eleanor removed her hand from Tristan's side and smiled. "I think you have your new friend to thank for that."

 

"I'd like to meet one," Sameire smiled, looking out the window. She had this feeling that a Vampire would be able to help her.

 

The storytelling soldier smirked and thought, What are the chances of a vampire coming here?

 

Tristan turned around and stared at Naserrea curiously. "But, how?"

Naserrea began to shake. "D-did I do something wrong? It's just that it sounded like you wanted a boat, so I got you a boat."

"What are you?"

Naserrea trembled even more. "W-what do you mean? I'm your summon, and you are my master. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Tristan mouthed the word summon in awe. He then realized he was still holding the thing he grabbed from the Lake. It was a gold ring with a sapphire attached to it. "Don't be sorry, Nas. You did something incredible."

"Nas?" Naserrea said shyly.

Yes, I think that would be a nice nickname for you."

"Nas....." Repeated Naserrea thoughtfully. "I have a nickname..... Nas."
Nas smiled at Tristan. "I accept this gift graciously."

 

"Yes, very good," Eleanor said. "I'm very grateful." She got up and limped over to the boat, sitting in it. "I've enough strength to lift this thing if you just tell me which way to go so we don't disturb the water."

 

"What?" Sameire looked at the one who'd told her the story. "Do you not like Vampires?" She knew her plan was working. If she kept playing dumb, perhaps they'd let her go out to the garden. From there, she could plan an escape.

 

"I'm the spirit of Nature. I could move it using the wind." Said Nas.

"I'd very much appreciate that Nas." said Tristan. "Eleanor, you're still hurt, let Nas do it."

OOC: Ok, I'm going to bed. It's past 5.

 

"If you insist," Eleanor said, relaxing. "That's probably a good idea."
