The world of Laifel

Tristan clenched his fists and looked towards Eleanor to see what she thought.

As soon as Nas entered the lady's room she turned into her true form, a reddish brown ferret with a few white bits of fur here and there. Nas' silk clothing fell to the ground while she scurried under the door's opening and out a small hole in the pub's wall.

 

"Say WHAT?!" yelled a soldier near Trenyan. As much as the Crossbreed held his cool upon hearing the news, he was surprised too.
The leader of the camp had announced the King's strategy... and furthermore, the scouts' reports. The enemy was attacking. Quel, the only city not ordered to run away, was soon to be attacked!

"There's absolutely no doubt about it!" said Trenyan in a resolute voice. "There's treachery in the air!"

"Huh? What do you mean?" asked a soldier who heard him despite of the chaotic voices of the other soldiers.

"Of course!" yelled Lythorne, attracting more attention. "Think about it! The King comes up with the most idiotic plan this kingdom ever had! All cities run to Cheslidair... which is stupid to being with ; how does the King expect to protect the entire kingdom within the walls of that one city?!
Now, Quel is attacked! The ONLY city left to defend itself is attacked! The enemy could never have figured out the King's strategy, and countered it so fast!"

"That's true, you know? Lizards and Leechers : they're too dumb to realize they're about to die. We had proof of this last night, didn't we?"

The soldiers around them were now attracting the attention of other nearby soldiers. Trenyan regretted having talked so loud.

Lythorne continued, glad to have people listening to him.
"There are traitors within Baflee's high hierarchy! The enemy knew all along what the King planned! Or rather no; not the King. The King, with his knowledge, could never have come up with such a stupid plan. We have been deceived!"

Then, he added :

"Lizards raid our villages! The "King" (Lythorne said that word with obvious sarcasm) literally allows them to take over the kingdom, except for one random place! Then suddenly and magically, the enemy attacks that exact same place! Not to mention Faeyland Woods! Those freaks burned it down! How can the King not retaliate against so many warnings?!"

That kiddo's a good liar, thought Trenyan, allowing himself a moment of immaturity. Unfortunately, everything except the Faeyland Woods part was true. Everything. Lythorne was right.
He shot a glance at Kurt, who looked as if he suddenly learned the meaning of life. Obviously he had realized this too. The soldiers around them were now spreading the news.

But even so, what could they do? This improvised camp had perhaps a thousand soldiers. But those soldiers weren't small fry ; after all, they proved their worth the night before.
Trenyan was in deep thought. He had unknowingly become used to the feeling of having his plans shattered.

Bic: Jacob had walked a long way by no and was starting to see the desert. The trouble is getting through, He thought

John had also walked a long way, but was still pretty far from the desert, i'll never get there at this rate, he thought as he started running

 

"What about your mother?" Sameire asked. She realized it was a bit rude, but she was curious.

 

Zuiden looked around at the battlefield; the battle was over. He had lost a few men, but not many. Jacob had lost much more. The survivors among the bodies that weres still loyal to Jacob were tied up.
Zuiden then addressed his men, "Take Jacob's surviving men and tie them up! Retain them all in the same place so we can keep an eye on them. You fought a good battle, men! Jacob wasn't worthy to be your leader, I will lead you to greatness!"
As his men cheered while carrying out his orders, Zuiden swung the chain of his Kusari Gama around in a playful manner. I will lead you to greatness...MY greatness, he thought with a smirk.

 

Saclem was frowning at the battle plans. It featured a detailed map of the city. He then walked away from the plans and gazed out the window. The door behind him opened. The King turned around to see who it was. It was the general.
"Kellington! Good to see you! Come in, come in." Said the King happily.

Kellington entered the room and shut the door. He gave the king a sneer. "Didn't realize you were in here."

Saclem was slightly taken aback by the expression and the comment. perhaps Kellington wanted him to be more serious. "How are the preparations going? We can't afford to have our defenses breached. I've been reviewing the plans and I've come to realize that we would be doomed if that happens. You must make sure that doesn't happen."

"I know how to do MY job." Kellington said sternly. "I'm going to leave now."

What was that all about? Wondered the King as Kellington left.

The lizard/leecher army entered the town. The battle had begun.

 

Barely a few minutes after the news were announced, all soldiers were requested to get ready for departure.
Now, half an hour later, the warriors were on their way to join Quel. Runners brought more news : the enemy was almost ready to strike.
Lythorne was enraged at the thought that so many towns will fall without a fight. Baflee is just as easily already destroyed!
He was the only one of the three men to go fight. He knew that the thousand troops we was with will separate. Smaller groups will be made, and attack both armies... a move that seemed suicidal. But, as the leader of these troops pointed out, this attack was their best chance at making a difference.
Lythorne thoughts were violent :
Unbelivable! Completely unbelievable! Yesterday I felt like the whole Kingdom was to hold off the Lizard attacks! Now I learn that the lands are being deserted! There isn't any more places to call "home"!

Trenyan had already parted ways with his friends. After discussing with them ; his target was clear. He was on his way to Cheslidair.

Kurt too had left. He was moving towards the west, around the lake. Hopefully he can reach Ilianam soon enough, and he can then resume his mission : find the princess. Even though Trenyan wasn't with him ; he had no choice. The recent events proved that time was critical. Both Baflee and Ilianam are going to burn if nothing is achieved.
His home, the town of Lorya, wasn't affected by any patriotic feeling. Its own survival was to be put in danger should the kingdoms fall. Kurt was to try to make Ilianam stand solid. Lythorne and Trenyan were to attempt to save Baflee... hopefully not dying in the process.

 

The Leechers ran into the town with torches. As they ran pass buildings they would light them on fire. The Lizards began to form a wall around the town so that nobody could get in or out.

 

Jacob started walking through the desert

OOC: I decided to hand him over to lil' because I kept forgetting about him. don't worry, he knows the plan.

Alira jumped over Rubies tail with ease and landed behind Ruby.

 

"Ruby!" Before Lanan could warn her, Ruby had already turned around.
"Die!" Ruby yelled as she started slashing at Alira with lightning fast claws.
It's just like before... Ruby's claws were moving so fast, Lanan couldn't keep up with them.

 

Alira dodged the attacks with ease, she still wasen't trying hard, she wondered how fast Ruby could actually go, or if this was her limit.

 

Gemini didn't seem to mind her blunt question. "Mother is Cylian. She lived in a city." she stated, simply.

 

Ruby hissed as Alira dodged her attacks. She wasn't sure what was going on, during the war she could move faster than this. I mussst haven't gotten russsty in that jewel!
Lanan could do nothing but watch helplessly as Ruby's attacks missed Alira. If only she was faster! Lanan thought angrily. "Wait!" He yelled as he had a realization. Maybe Ruby doesn't need to be faster, Alira needs to be slower! he thought as he jumped from roof to roof, until he was a good distance behind Alira and Ruby's battle. Lanan then stood up and stretched his hands out and then clapped them together. This is going to take all my strength, he closed his eyes and concentrated all his energy into the small space in between his palms. No Wolf instincts. Embrace your Cylian blood. Become one with nature, his dad's words echoed through his mind. Lanan's body calmed down as he took a deep breath. In between his hands, he could feel a ball of wind forming. Around his body, the wind started blowing harder and harder, and yet, it felt good to him. Lanan then opened his eyes and thrust his hands towards Alira, throwing a ball of pure wind at her. "Take this!" he yelled as the ball grew and created a mini tornado. The tornado then stopped a few yards behind her and kept growing and started sucking everything around into it, including Alira.

 

Instead of running from the tornado, Alira ran into it, gaining speed and shotstraight through it, causing it to collapse.

 

"I don't have a mother anymore," Sameire was suddenly interested in her new companion. She hoped that if she opened up, Gemini might too.

 

Gemini gasped and put a hand to her lips. "oh I'm so sorry for you," she said immediatly. "I didn't see Mother often but that completely different." she tilted her head to the side and looked at Sameire with worry now.

 

OOC: You are overdoing it Riku. Speed wouldn't help you escape from a tornado. I said your demon could be fast, but that doesn't mean It is allowed to reach speeds over 150 mph. Tornadoes can be that strong. Devils are godly but they aren't invincible.
