The world of Laifel

Lanan shot Ruby a confused look as he followed the man.
"Hypnotism," she said as she smiled. "My favorite ability, although it's not as strong as it used to be....I merely persuaded him to heal you, he could've resisted easily."
Lanan didn't say anything as he walked into the room. Hypnotism, huh? Lanan thought about it for a second. Looking up, he noticed the healer was motioning towards a tall table with a pillow on it. Lanan laid on it, looking at the ceiling.
"Close your eyes," The healer told him.

 

The soldiers glanced at one another. They seemed a little unsure of themselves. Suddenly the head of the group stepped forward.
"King Bryne is an honorable king. I have served him for years. I trust his judgment, and so do my men."

Fury flashed in Tristan's eyes. "You trust his judgment?! Open your eyes, take a look around. This city is rotting. This is not the Ilianam that I knew and loved. This is where my father's recent judgment has brought us. This country is dieing!" Tristan then faced the crowd. "All of you, here, are the people of this country. This country used to have honor. It's people were clean and friendly, and crime was kept to a minimal. Now, look at you!
I see rags, I see starving babies, I see eyes that have lost hope. Are you seriously going to give up and die? Why don't you people do something?"

 

Alira Recovered. "I have a plan, Ras'tepa, We need you to make Azazel the king heir, then we will have you leave thekings body and frame someone for assasination, then Azazel will be king, he then host a dinner for the king of Melkine, in which you will posses him and then you two will control both Kingdoms" she said with a smile.

 

OOC: I want to do something different with Melkine. We already have had two kings meet their downfall to a demon in such a manner. A third time will be too repetitive. I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with it, but I figure something out.

Eleanor frowned as Tristan's words, leaning her back against the corner of the building to take all her weight off of her ankle.

Well, that's one way to draw attention to yourself, she thought with a small smile. It's admirable, but I thought we just wanted to get what we needed and get out of here...

 

The crowd was silent for a moment. Finally the silence was broken by a single worn down looking man. "And where were you when all this started happening, huh? Why didn't you go and do something about it from the start, huh?"

"Yeah!" cried out another man. "Where were you when your country needed you? The country you claim to love so much."

"I'll tell you where he was." said the other man. "He was gone! That's where. You nobles are all the same! All you care for is your own well being."

"You're all corrupt!" said another.

"Who's to say you won't be any different?" said yet another.

The crowd began to make all sort of angry comments aimed towards Tristan.

The head soldier smiled at Tristan, "You'll gain no support here Tristan. For all these people know you're worse your father. And why not? After all, you did try to overthrow him in your thirst for power."

The crowd began picking up rocks and throwing them at Tristan.

"You are under arrest, Tristan." said the soldier again. "You will come with us."

Tristan grit his teeth. He didn't bother to avoid incoming rocks. "You're not taking me anywhere."

Jacob and his men, including Maxamilias, had gotten far away from their camp."We can get weapons at a secret cash to the west of here, but the problem is, it's near the oasis, which as you all know, is haunted. So, lets go" Jacob said smiling.

"Agreed" max and all the other men said in response.

 

OOC: Should Kael be with Zack?

 

Zack stared expressionlessly at the distant city of Cheslidair. Even from this distance he could see that the city was in flames, and Leechers and Lizards surrounded it. He had been sent here, with two subordinates, after the shock wave was felt by the Angelens.
"There's something foul in the air," Said Zack in a serious tone, "and I don't mean leechers and lizards. It's something else. Do you two feel it?"

OOC: yup.

 

"Sure do," Kael replied, arms folded across his chest. "I think we're a bit late."

 

"This stench is definitely that of a demon. If only the Order had listened to me sooner." Zack said to himself, before addressing his two men again. "Kael, Sebastian. This will be the first battle of the new war. Victory here could make all the difference in the battles yet to come. We cannot afford to let Cheslidair fall. Do you hear me? By no means will you two allow that happen! Understand?"

 

"Sure, sure," Kael nodded. "They don't stand a chance against the three of us."

 

OOC : Ok, so it took Kh-Vids a frickin' hour to load, and another to get to this Thread, yesterday. That's why I wasn't there ; it would've taken me like 5 hours to Post once, and 2 others to Post again. Sorry about that.

Finally, Trenyan will exaggerate some things in his speech below... if not downright make them up. Don't worry if you don't remember some things he said.

Trenyan had to hurry. The enemy was attacking, and the city was to fall soon. He hoped that he could make a difference. He spoke quickly, but clearly, and marked several words with a great intonation.


"What I want to say, sir, is that there is treachery in this kingdom. You probably guessed it, but it's far worse than what first meets the eye.

I've seen the battle of Quel. I have even fought it. And I am sure, absolutely sure, that the enemy knows exactly what Baflee's plans are.
They attacked so quickly and so effectively, mysteriously knowing all weak points in Quel's defenses. Not to mention they guessed Quel will be the only city not to retreat!

You might be thinking that the Lizards and Leechers are so strong that it doesn't make a difference, but it's a horribly wrong thought!

Before the battle of Quel, I joined some soldiers, who were fed up with Baflee's inaction towards the Lizard raids. Together we defended border villages from Lizards and Leechers alike, and we succeeded! Even more : we reconquered the ruins of Quel, which were infested with those evil beings!

Do you understand what this means? Someone spies on you... someone close to the King, because you say that he is the one who came up with the plans. I can only assume he has a secret information source which gave him those corrupt defense plans.
The King failed because he trusted this treacherous source. You must not.

What you must do, is simply do the exact opposite of what the King ordered. If he says to put archers to the west, put them elsewhere, like to the east. If he says reinforcements will come, don't ever expect them. And finally... if he orders retreat, attack!

Do not tell him you talked with me. And keep everything secret from him. It's your only chance.

Do you have any questions!?"

 

"Keep in mind, Kael, that we are up against an army that consist of tens of thousands of soldiers. This will be no easy task, even for the three of us. Sebastian, I know this is your first battle, but I expect you to use decent judgment here and do not use excess energy needlessly."
Zack was interrupted by a sudden explosion. The south and north wall had fallen. Leechers and lizards were pouring into the city. Zack narrowed his eyes and thought for a bit. "Kael, I want you to take out their siege weapons. your lightening speed should make quick work of it. After that, I trust that you can handle the north's defense by yourself. Do not waste energy needlessly either.
As for you, Sebastian you will help me with the south's defense. I would like to keep an eye on you for this battle."

"You don't need to tell me that." said Kellington "I don't even trust my king anymore." Kellington then smiled. "That's why I kept some things secret from him and went behind his back on a few orders. Not all of Quel is lost. The ones who fought in Quel were not soldiers. They were normal citizens. You see, I went to Quel and convinced their men to come here. We have some well trained soldiers hidden among our citizens here. And that's not all. Quel even had some Shapers." Kellington smiled and turned to one of his men. "You, go find Biffem. If you must, bring him by force. I would like to have a talk with that man."

 

Kael sighed. Zack was right, Kael's laid-back attitude wouldn't help him here. He'd have to be serious about this. "Don't push yourself, either." He reminded Zack before light shrouded him and he turned to his true form.

 

Zack gave Kael a friendly smile and nodded. "Fly like the wind, my friend."

 

Trenyan felt a... relief? That surprised him. After all, why did he worry about Baflee so much? Maybe the Lizards just want to burn it down and then stop. Or maybe not.

"Very well. I see you are a competent general. You seem trustworthy as well.

One thing : remember that crown I mentioned? All made up. There isn't a crowd. Sorry to have lied, but I felt it to be necessary, just in case I needed someone out of the way."

The sounds of the siege weapons, the the south wall crumbling, made Trenyan say more.

"I'm stuck in a city under siege.
If you need an extra soldier in your ranks, count me in. I am an Ice Molder, and I am sure I can be of help."

He thought :
Now that I think of it, if I want to make myself useful, I should thaw the ice blocks I molded on the soldiers at the gate.

 

Kael bowed his head, his beak nearly touching the ground, and then spread his wings. With a burst of wind, Kael was in the air and heading for the weapons.
