While he was walking rapidly, following Flame Burst, Kurt talked fast.

"Sameire is on the run. Therefore, she is hiding. So she will be in the "last place you'd think of looking".
Many people have passed by here. Each person let its smell, and Flame Burst detected all their smells.

One of those smells is Sameire's.

Think of it as if the smells were actually lines drawn on the floor. You know that one line leads to Sameire, and all the others lead to random people.

Random people, however, are not hiding. They are going to the villages. Sameire is definitely not in a village, so we'll ignore the trails that lead there.

When they approach the river, the smells will separate again. Some people go fishing, others go back home, etc.
But one trail, Sameire's, will lead "in the middle of nowhere", where there's no village, no fishing spot, nothing. That's because she's hiding, and doesn't want to go anywhere where there are people.

And that means that each time the smells separate, we'll have to pick the one that goes to the most isolated place. Eventually we'll bump into Sameire."

 

"I should, shouldn't I?" Said Dan.

Just then, the soldier that Dan sent to find Biffem returned. "General Kellington, I've found Biffem."

"Well," said Dan, "where is he then?"

"He's dead, Sir." replied the soldier.

"Dead!" Dan said while standing up. "How? When? Where?"

"Not long ago, the body was still warm. He was stabbed with a dagger and was found in a secret chamber of which I was unaware of."

 

"Oh okay that makes much more sense" Eve said with a red face.
I can't believe I doubted Kurt's sanity. He is smarter than I thought.

 

"You're very curious, aren't you?" Lanan asked with a smile. "You know what they say about curiosity and the cat, don't you?" Looking around, he answered her question, "No, not really..."

 

Hester awoke to the first rays of Dawn. It was time to set sail, but first he would need to speak with his two new passengers.

 

Trenyan didn't know who "Biffem" was. However, he understood that the news were bad.
Thinking out loud, he said :
"I fear that we've only begun to feel the consequences of this treachery..."



It has been quite some time since Lythorne and his companions joined the battle of Cheslidair.
Several hours had passed for sure. Lythorne was amazed to be alive, but his amazement was buried deep within him. Other feelings went through his mind.

He saw the terrors of war. Innocent citizens caught between the battles... brave young men defending their families, barehanded if necessary... friendships ending with the slaughtering of one's lifetime companions, right before his eyes.

Being a soldier was even worse. Concentrating on the enemy was essential, and Lythorne's mind was no better than shut down. Nothing else could come to him. He felt as if living his life, but through some other being's eyes.
His wounds and his fatigue didn't come to him. He had unknowingly slowed down the pace of his battles, to the point that he could fight on. All the suffering he saw got engraved in his memories, but Lythorne could not actually think of anything, until the battle was to end.

His magical powers had long been depleted. He could only count on his own swords, fighting until he either defeats all enemies, or gets killed.

The humans had survived what seemed like impossible odds. Unknown beings were helping them. But will this be enough to emerge victorious?

 

Aidou and Aduial had stayed outside. They were sitting next to a house, Aduial asleep as she leaned against Aidou's shoulder. He was awake, staring at the ground, his vision starting to leave when the sun started to rise. Having a compain makes things much more troublesome. He thought, looking at Aduial now. She seemed genuinely at peace with her dreams.

Sameire was downstream of the river. She'd Shaped a dome over herself while she slept; still sleeping now.

 

Gemini laughed, "That's a bad pun, I'm sorry. But I won't ask anymore" she shook her head smiling. "I hope you have good luck on finding him though."

 

Lanan laughed a little bit. "Why don't you come with me? But I have to warn you, it'll be very dangerous." He missed traveling with a companion, at least one who wasn't as sadistic as Ruby. And maybe Gemini could handle herself better than Becka could.

 

Gemini leaned back on the tree and looked up. "Hm... that's actually really tempting." she admitted. "I want to travel and from what I've seen just today honestly I don't think I want to travel alone. I'll get myself killed." she laughed off the dire statement.

 

Lanan smiled again but it quickly turned into a frown when he thought of Ruby. I hope she's alright... He dropped his eyes for a second before he answered her, "The world's an interesting place. So what do you say?"

 

"Okay, deal." Gemini looked at him brightly. "thank you." she added.

 

"Alright then," Lanan said, "We're officially traveling companions." He raised his head and looked into the distance, "We just have to wait for Ruby now..."

 

Gemini looked back in the direction they had run from. "Are you sure she's alright?" she asked, "Maybe we should go back and help her."

 

A secret chamber? Wondered Dan.
"Take me to his body." Commanded Dan.

"Yes, Sir!" Said the soldier with a salute.

Dan glanced over at the crossbreed. "You're welcome to come if you want, um...." Dan thought for a moment before saying, "You know, I don't recall you giving me your name."

Hester walked out of the Inn and scratch his head. "Now where did they two be off to?" He said aloud.

Zack was fighting valiantly, but the leechers and lizards were still making their way into the city. Kael, what are you doing? I thought I could count on you to do a better job than this. I would go into my true form, but I'm afraid I may then bring harm to the humans. Damn it Kael!

Karchit watched from afar. The sun was rising, and there was no sign of Nevirz. "He said he would be here before dawn." Karchit said aloud with a hiss. Things weren't going as expected. This time the fault was to be placed on the legendary Angelens. Because of them, His army had been reduced to the thousands. But It wasn't only because of them. There were shapers in the battlefield, and an outside force that attacked them as well. Things were not going well. If things don't look up in another hour or two, I'm ordering a retreat. there's no way I'm going to lose my army like this.

 

"That depends," Lanan said sternly. "Can you fight?" It was a blunt question, but why beat around the bush?

Zuiden was still watching the battle as he rode along. Looks like it's almost over...

OOC: Where's Karchit? Like in a camp with other Lizards or Leechers or just hiding or what?

 

OOC: Somewhere outside the north walls. He's fought some, but he's taking a break. He's being guarded by other lizards.

 

Gemini looked at her hands thoughfully, her claws coming out. "Well... theoreticly, yes." she answered, thinking on her training and practicing that she'd done alone.

 

"Theoretically, huh?" Lanan asked as he smiled, baring his own claws and holding them back. "Well, let's put that theory to the test!" He growled as he lunged at Gemini and swung his right arm to slash her.

Zuiden looked ahead. The desert's to the west of here, if my direction's right then I'm headed to the north wall. He looked up and saw a kind of camp. He was still too far to see who the figures surrounding it were. "Heeyah!" He said to Crescent as he galloped towards the camp.

 

Gemini yelped, not expecting to be attacked. She ducked to the side and stumbled to her feet. Putting a hand to her shoulder she felt alittle blood. Before she got hit again she leapt away from her spot, behind Lanan and kicked out, aiming for the small of his back.
