The world of Laifel

Aidou's lips curved up in amusement, his fangs glinting in the dimming light. He shook his head in a silent laugh, causing his golden locks to wave back and forth. He ran a slender hand through his hair. "You are a foolish human." He turned his gaze to Hester. "Offering youself up takes out most of the fun. But," He sighed, the amusement leaving his voice. "You are brave. I won't kill you then, as I'd planned." He looked down at Aduial. In a quieter tone, he continued, "She's already asked me not to harm anyone aboard this ship. In preparation for this journey, I had more than my fill before coming to Triwn. You've no cause for worry about your crew members. Or yourself - for a couple of days at least." He finished, looking back to Hester. He added in a chillingly bemused tone, "Or does that not suite you?"

 

"As you wish" said Kurt.
"If this is all there is to say, then I suggest we get moving. You can be sure there are guards after you, princess. Or can I simply call you Sameire?"

Kurt hoped that they could make a good team, he, Eve and Sameire. Learning what's going on seemed possible ; both Even and Sameire looked resourceful to him. But what about fighting? He was a powerful warrior, but he had no idea about his companions. Hopefully they will find what they seek without actually needing to test their fighting skills.

 

Sameire thought for a moment. She'd only been called by her first name by her family. It seemed a bit odd to let someone she barely knew address her so informally, but she nodded. "Yes, that's fine with me. I also think that we should get moving. I want to get to the next town before night falls if possible."

 

Azazel looked into the distance before replying. "According to what Ras'tepa said, there's a lake and a swamp to the east. It'll be the quickest way to Baflee instead of going around it." He started walking in that direction before picking up his speed and taking off full speed.



Lanan smiled as an idea brewed in his head. He never tried this before, but it seemed like it could work. He concentrated on the wind around him and before he knew it, he was flying. "Beat that," he said as he passed Gemini. He kept wobbling as he flew, but he was getting the hang of it.

 

Gemini looked up and laughed at his wobbly flight. "No fair! If I try to fly I'll probably pass out when we get there." she called, not really upset. She just increased her leaps to try and keep up.

 

Lanan didn't hear what Gemini said; he was too busy enjoying the flight...until he hit the ground. "Guess I need more practice with that..." he said as he stood up. Before he knew it, Gemini caught up and his reflexes caught on. He took a leap and started running, still determined to beat her.

 

Gemini was having a hard time keeping her breath steady as she passed him because she was laughing at how he'd fallen. She realized he was really trying to beat her when he caught up so she pushed herself to move faster, stretching her limbs to leap farther.

 

"You'l have to try harder than that, little girl," Lanan smirked. So far he and Gemini were neck and neck.

Ras'tepa was walking around the castle, wondering how Azazel's mission was going. Staying in this castle is starting to annoy me.
Why don't you give me back my body, Parasite, and feel free to go whereever you want. The King's voice echoed in a sarcastic tone in the back of his head.
Sounds like a plan, Ras'tepa answered, physically smiling, until you hunt me down for revenge.
Whether it's at my hands or not, You will be hunted and killed, Parasite.
Don't worry, Kingy, Ras'tepa thought before continuing on aloud, "Soon I'll have no need for your body."

Zuiden reached the lake and slowed Crescent down to a slow gallop. When he reached the outskirts of the camp his guild set up, he jumped off his horse and tied him to a tree. "I'll be back," he said as he rubbed Crescent's mane. Hurrying into the camp, but still keeping quiet, he noticed Whisk walking around, his tail wrapped around his staff.
"Captain?" Whisk inquired. He recognized Zuiden, but Ziuden seemed to be...suspcious. He grabbed his staff in one hand and cautiously walked toward him.
"Change of plans," Zuiden told him, "These men are no longer useful to us."
Whisk gave a small smile. He was tired of playing the compassionate general to the guild. "So what's the plan?"
Zuiden smiled and motioned into the distance from which he came. "Lizards are coming to massacre everyone. You're the only they'll spare, but we need to leave."

 

"Y,yeah right. I'll win this for sure old man." Gemini retorted, still laughing as she ran. She was enjoying herself so much she actually didn't want to find the town, even though her limbs were starting to get sore from running so far and fast.

 

Lanan jumped in the air, rolling over Gemini, and landed on her other side. "Let's see an old man do that!" He said as he leaped forward, putting distance between them.

 

"You'll throw out your back doing that!" Jinx yelled after him, jumping up to snag a tree branch and swing herself foward, gracefully cutting down the distance a little. From her landing spot she launched foward, working as hard as she could to catch up with him again.

 

Lanan turned his head and yelled, "You're not funny!" Swinging one arm at her, he Molded a gust of wind straight at her, intent on slowing her down.

 

Gemini caught the wind full in the face and was slowed down for a couple seconds. "Ah! You cheat!" she yelled at him, debating her own cheat as she tried to regain the distance she'd lost. She raised one hand and concentrated on the air a few yards infront of him. The air stilled completely, forming a sort of wall to slow him down as well. It was a difficult thing for her to do while running and she had to work harder to keep her pace.

 

Karchit was closing in on the camp. This was going to be easy. "Order the attack." He hissed to a nearby lizard.

Hester felt insulted and relieved at the same time. He was insulted by the fact that the vampire had planned on killing him even though he was risking his crew's life just by taking them to Sin Isle. However, knowing that he wouldn't have to let the vampire drink his blood was a great relief. But still, This vampire had been planning on killing him! He may still be planning on doing so. How was Hester supposed to trust him after that? While all that went through his mind, Hester made an effort to keep his annoyance from showing.
"Then what 'bout the little lady. Do she be hungry?"

 

She seems really concerned about the night.
I hope she isn't a werewolf.
Eve watered Eura again.
"Okay Samerie let's start walking" Eve said

 

"I would assume so," Aidou answered, not taking his eyes from Hester. "However, she doesn't eat meat." And I greatly disagree with that decision of hers. "Do you have anything that would aid her in getting her strength back?"

"Right," Sameire decided to head back the way she'd come, following the river. She knews the towns near the castle, but not much else. If she was going to be an efficiant traveler, she would need a map.

 

Hester thought for a moment. "Well we do have pickles.... Meat be not a luxury that us sailors can have. We do be needing foods that do not rot."

 

"Then that issue is settled. I'll come for you as soon as she wakens," Aidou informed the captain. "There is something I must discuss with her in private."

 

Hester made a slight, but polite bow to his guests. "Then I be making me leave now." Hester said while rising. He then left the cabin in deep thought, still unsure whether or not to trust the vampire.

 

Lanan gasped when he hit something. The air around him was so thick, he not only had trouble moving, he had trouble breathing. He stopped for a moment, trying to figure out what was going on when Gemini passed him. Cursing her for the trick, he jumped back and used Wind to launch himself in the air, over the "wall" she made and continued to fly. "Try harder, little girl!" he yelled as he caught up. In the distance, he could see the gates of a town.

It didn't take long for Whisk to understand the situation. His ear twitched as he heard many footsteps. "They're coming now?" He expected at least a few minutes to get out of the camp.
Zuiden looked in the direction of Baflee, he could see a large silhouette getting closer: the Lizard army. "That's more men than I thought. Let's go." He turned around, followed by Whisk, and headed to meet the army. He would leave the massacre of his men to them, but he hoped they wouldn't be stupid enough to destroy everything; there was a lot of equipment that might be useful.
Whisk looked at his own tent as he passed it. He couldn't think of anything special in there. He had his staff so he decided to leave everything in ruins. Nothing special to be saved. He thought.
