    That would be true except for two things. First and foremost: it says battle step, not battle phase. Secondly, even if it did say battle phase, an optional monster effect that doesn't negate or change attack can't be used in the damage step unless otherwise specified.

    Yeah he cheated once in that Duel by special summoning a monster from his hand that he really couldn't summon. And yeah I stole it with Monster Reborn.

    Yeah I know but still I don't take kindly to people who cheat. So if I ever do start playing this game again I'm not gonna Duel that guy again. And he not only did that but he wouldn't even subtract his LP like he was supposed to...

    EDIT: We're talking about a very huge if here by the way so don't hold your breath.
