Trap Stun negates all Traps during the turn it's activated so Synchro Material cannot be used.

 

ARGUMENT: Trap Stun didn't resolve yet! Can my trap resolve, or do you activate Quasar's ability?

 

Trap stun doesn't negate what resolves before it.
Just like how you can chain MST to an imperial order's activation.

 

In this case, you're wrong. Since it isn't an immediately activating effect, but rather one that lingers over the field for the length of the turn, it's still negated, since the effect is still present on the field when Trap Stun resolves.

(Note: And no, you can't synchro immediately with the card's effect, as you still need to meet the synchro conditions when you synchro summon with this card. *Normally: Be outside a chain during main phase* *This case: Be able to activate Formula Synchron's effect with the effect of Synchro Material Active*)

 

Could you chain Formula Synchron to Trap Stun, then Synchro Material to that, and have it work?

 

You could. But you wouldn't have the monster you selected with Material usuable.

 

Yeah I didn't get Trap Stun either at first. One time while I was playing Tag Force 5 I activated Trap Stun right as soon as I attacked but then the AI slammed me with Mirror Force. I was like WTF?
