And yeah that does look cool. But that's not the problem. The problem is I haven't played in a really long time and the game just isn't near as much fun as it used to be. I'll have to train really hard to get as good at it again as I used to be if I do start playing again. And it won't be easy. It took me years to get as good as I used to be. And I'm not sure if I have it in me to do it again...And I was never very good to begin with...I can't even beat Slaughtermatic and you all think that he's bad...And if he's as bad as all of you let on then that means that I'm worse than the human mind can possibly comprehend...Because I don't even come near HIS level...

EDIT: Oh yes I forgot to mention you all also know that Konami has released alot of new gamebreakers and new broken decks and broken cards and well that also took the fun out of it for me...

I wish yugioh start being cool like old times.Hmm,i can't explain..Yami Yugi time,everyone had a original deck,and etc.But lets see,now,even if you use "Scrap",or "Fableds",that isn't original,10000 people in the world play this deck too,and everyone have the same cards,like solemn,torrential,etc.On that old time,people had their own cards,their own deck,like "clown deck",or a "blue-eyes deck",and etc.I wish yugioh was like that..
I don't know if you guys did understad me,probably not.

 

Ah what fun! Was challenged to a Character Anime Deck Duel, I had Yugi and opponent had Kaiba, match, I won 1, he did as well btu 3rd was the cake, I should note Banned Cards were in as well.

Opponent plays Ring of Destruction and chains Ring of Defense to a Monster Reborned BEWD I revived.
I chain Mysticla Refpanel, teh dmaage I would of taken becoems his and Ring of Defense can't help hi, I laugehd and thought "I won using the most unusual tactic ever."

 

on the contrary, there are more original decks now than before due to a wider variety of cards and archetypes to choose from.
it is true that mostly everyone runs staples, but those only help with making your decks better, not to cause every deck to be the same.

An old saying comes to mind: Nothing ever wort it requires hard work. And to be honest, I don't think I could beat you (Well... I have improved a bit from our last duel but details 'n snizits).

 

Indeed my heraldics are a force to be reckoned with.

 

Everyone had a blue-eyes deck. Everyone. And I, in the video games at least, had a clown deck. The only thing that made it different back then was access to cards. Most monsters were normal level fours, and of those the ones that had 1900 atk or 2000 def were the best. In that way there were less options before. There were also less spells and traps that were useful. Everyone ran Mirror force, Dark Hole, Trap Hole, Monster Reborn, Pot of Greed, ect. There may have been a lot of decks that looked different, and ran different cards.. But they basically all worked in the same way. Now, I can take a Fire Star deck, and come up with both a very aggressive play style, and a very defensive one. I can take my Fables and make a Unicore Control deck, a Synchro Spam, and a Quasar deck. I can take Scraps and make a defensive deck or an OTK deck. I can take Inzektors and make a deck around Hornet spam, or around boosting atk with equips and the Giga-s, or one made to Xyz spam. I can take Wind-ups and make agressive Xyz spam, or a Loop, or something defensive using kitten, snail, and rabbit with gachigachi and zenmaines.

Not quite. You said "More cards, thus more variety." I said "Cards that can be used in more than one way, thus more variety."

 

Then I'll add to that and say new cards have more complex effects than in the blue-eyes/clown days.

The meta will always be a very narrow set. If you think it was different earlier in the game's life, then you weren't playing the meta.
