Good game Star.Good duelist.But my wolves fed tonight anyways.Had some clever strategies non the less.I would recommend him as an opponent.

He's just using a deck of cards with wolf in their name, to the best of my knowledge.
Although i didn't see much of it, I godhanded in my Horahkty deck.

 

funny thing is, godhanding with your horahkty deck means you drew none of the gods.

Joshua can be a boss, yes, but no more of a boss than Eirika can. They have the same pre-promotion stat caps, and while I haven't looked at their bases and scale rates, I doubt his are much better. In Fire Emblem anyone you focus on leveling can become godlike. In Sacred Stones the one exception is Tethys, as she is the only character who can never do damage. I'd argue that Eirika is better than Joshua as she can equip the Rapier, and one of the Sacred Twin weapons of Renais, plus when she promotes she becomes mounted, thus having higher mobility, and increasing her con and aid scores at beat Joshua's. That said, Joshua and Eirika are very similar pre-promotion.

Checking the growth rates, Joshua has 10% (additively) higher HP growth chance, while Eirika has 5% more strength skill and speed growth, 10% more def and resist growth, and 30% more luck growth.

Base stats are hard to tell, as Joshua is level five when you meet him, but it looks like his HP is 4-5 points higher, his strength 2 points higher, his skill and speed two points higher, his luck a point lower, and his defense and resistance comparable.
This means at level fifteen, Joshua averages 5-6 more HP, 1-2 points higher in strength skill and speed, 1 point lower in def and resist, and 4 points lower in luck. Pushing that out to level twenty, HP tends towards 6 higher. strength skill and speed tend towards 1 higher, skill and speed usually max out anyway though, def is still about one lower, while resist tends towards two lower, and luck tends towards 5-6 lower.

so at 20, they tend to have about the same number of points, but he has a lot more of them in HP which is, in my opinion, the least useful, while having two less points in the combined str/resist/def, which I think are generally the most useful. How useful Def and Resist, which Eirika wins in, are is debatable, given that they should be dodging most hits, but Eirika's high luck makes her better at dodging and hitting if skill and speed cap out, and at criticaling and avoiding criticals either way.

While Joshua's str makes him do a single point more damage on each attack, and three more on criticals, Eirika takes one point less on normal physical attacks, and three points less on physical criticals, while taking two points less on magic attacks, and six points less on magical criticals, which quickly beats out Joshua's 6 more HP, especially when facing weak enemies.
Joshua may do more damage per hit, but he'll be hitting and criting less, for a potentially lower overall damage output.

Yep Kab Cannon is really strong. Getting him killed is actually easier said than done.

I've heard some people have tried getting their Kab Cannon killed just to get those rare fantasies but it's actually pretty hard to do.

 

You were complaining about the dragons.. Is it possible to have him fight a dragon?

Joshua is absolutely amazing. To see him at his full potential you should make him a Swordmaster instead of an Assassin and then you'll see just how godly he is. He effortlessly dodges most attacks even against lance-wielding enemies and he also spams criticals alot.

That's the thing: Everyone at their full potential is amazing. I had a level nine unpromoted berserk Ephraim mow down half of an army of mages, while my level four Falcoknight Tana soloed the level's boss, a general, in two rounds then moved in and singlehandedly took down the other half of the army without being hit a single time. The other eight people, who I hadn't been leveling much, struggled to beat a mixed force that was approximately equal in size to the groups of mages that Tana and Ephraim were killing.

 

Mostly true but Seth and Dozla are 2 characters I know of who don't ever reach full stat caps. And the people like Moulder, Natasha and L'Arachel etc. are a pain to level up. Oh and if you think Tana is good wait till you see Cormag.
