The Yugioh Card Duel Arena 9.0

I'm not sure how this works but it seems pretty unorganized how they gave the option to take away the banlist completely...I mean doing something like slapping Raigeki on the field and not even letting the opponent know ahead of time that you were gonna be using banned cards could cause a very rude dispute...

Could somebody explain to me how this works exactly?

 

Y'know how they have a rated zone and an unrated zone? they also have an unrated traditional zone (banned cards are limited) and an unrated unlimited zone (no ban list). If you start or accept a duel in one of those zones, those are the rules.

 

Pretty much what Fred said. I'll explain it too, just in case anyone doesn't know.

Advanced Rated: Follows a Ban List. All Duels & Matches affect Statistics (Ranking, Rating, etc.)
Advanced Unrated: Follows a Ban List, Duels & Matches do not affect Statistics
Traditional Unrated: Does not follow a Ban List, Duels & Matches do not affect Statistics.

That's fine with me. I don't care about my rank anymore. Most of the people there are scrubs anyway. And I've noticed it seems all of the strong players seem to be elitist snobs who won't Duel someone who's rank is under 1000.

 

Traditional does follow a ban list, it's just the standard with everything banned limited instead. If I made a deck with 3x BTH, I couldn't play it in Traditional, but I could use a deck with 1x Pot of Greed. The fourth, semi-hidden, zone, Unlimited Unrated follows no ban list so you can run 3x Pot of Greed if you want to.

EDIT: To get to Unlimited Unrated you have to hit the little arrow on the bottom-right corner of Traditional Unrated.

 

Oh, alright, forgot about that. I've never played a Traditional Duel, so I wouldn't know that part

In my opinion Konami should just try to even the game out and only ban SPLASHABLE and TRULY broken cards that give unfair advantage over the opponent. Raigeki and Harpie's Feather Duster are a good example of this. (But there are others too of course)

 

You know what you can do with the one with no ban list? Custom formats. We could pick an old banlist to play if you like, so long as I had a bit to get a deck together. Favourite ban list? (For anyone interested)

I had that very same idea.

Pro? This is what I'd call a noob format not a pro format...Cuz with MF and TT going to 2 it's gonna be alot easier for bad players to beat good ones...

I'm not loving it, but I definitely prefer it to the previous formats I've seen since I started playing again last year (until they banned Trishula who was JUST FINE at a Limit)

 

trishula is broken,and decks like infernitys had a infinity loop with it.

 

How so? I've only dueled Infernitys like once or twice, and they didn't use Trishula much if at all.

Hm, just wondering, how can I celebrate this...by removing some of the banlist for a single "welcome back" duel? BTW, why is Cup of Ace banned? Terms: Challenging: Jaden Yuki, Rafael Yuki, any 1 other player (optionally)

Number of Cards per Deck: 60-80
Other conditions: The following cards are Limited instead of Banned: Sinister Serpent, Tribe-Infecting Virus, Cyber Jar, Fiber Jar, Herald of Perfection, Light and Darkness Dragon, Card of Demise, Card of Sanctity (The Anime Exclusive Version), Card of Safe Return, Temple of the Kings, Dark Deal, Sixth Sense, Mystical Refpanel. As I said above, another player can optionally participate (even while the duel is still going on; they take their turn after the current one is finished); Jaden and I are on a team, and for the duration of 3 players, the third player draws 2 cards for their Draw Phase.
P.S.: When one team member loses, the other member continues drawing 2 cards for their Draw Phase until another team-of-2 member loses... and Rafael, I think you missed my challenge on page 42.

That loop lost Brionac with the new list, so you can't spam Trishula now using his effect (though I'm well aware there are other cards that return cards to the hand)

And on the subject of loops, there are plenty other loops that need to get hit still. Elemental HERO Gustav Max OTK, for one.
