Who else remembers when Second Chance/Once More didn't make you invincible for the rest of the game?

Who else remembers when level design wasn't "Go here do this go here do this" and there was actually an element of exploration?

Who else remembers when bosses didn't have to hit you a million and one times to do the damage a single strike used to do?
