I'm not telling the whole world, just my 30 or so followers. And like I said before, if they don't wanna read it, they don't have to follow me.

Just because I filter it out doesn't mean other people will. Do you actually go through and read every single status update your friends make? Honestly?

No, because most of the time it's just 'i luv kaily' or 'going out 4 a run brb in a huor,' but I don't really see how it's different for Twitter. Like I said, I get it for news but not for regular people. :/

Hey look who found it necessary to unnecessarily tweet about the conversation we're having right now. I'm sure all of your friends care about it and that it is about as important as "that time you broke your arm".

  8. Twitter is like the equivalent of VMs, except much less sentences to work with and have a lot of useless chatter that gets forwarded to many. To be perfectly honest, I've never been a part of social networking. Facebook, MySpace, you name it. I'm not a part of it. Nor do I care about posting sexy pictures of myself with some retarded sexy face with my lips pouting out or, commenting on other pointless things. The only reason I would get myself one is because someone forced me. Or because I want to share pictures with my friends or family (keyword: friends and family. Not 5,000 strangers) and talk to them. Especially if it is long distance. But overall, I don't like it.

hen it comes to Twitter, I honestly don't see what's the point of sending everyone what you are doing every second of your life. It's just, really, I just don't get it. "I'm going to the bathroom". "I'm watching Barney". "I'm shaking my booty". "I'm in the internet reading posts in KHVids". If you're going to use it, use it productively. At least, something that can be considered conversation, even if it is short. I would find it quite uncomfortable to read what a person's doing, let alone write what should be my privacy. That's getting way too personal on a network that can have those well known poachers and feed them what they want.

Oh, look who found it neccesary to look up my Twitter account when you think it's so silly.

Anyways, I think it's personal preference. You either like it, or you don't. I actually care about what goes on in my friends and family's lives. Some people don't. That's them, this is me.

And I should be allowed to say whatever the heck I wanna say without being judged for it. >_>

References are always nice to have in a discussion like this.

I care about what goes on in my loved one's lives. That's why I have a facebook. See, it's like Twitter, except you can also upload pictures and videos and stuff like that for additional connection with your friends and family.

You are able to. And not only am I allowed to say whatever I want to about what you're saying, but the moment you start defending the idea that Twitter is useful all the time I can take anything you say on Twitter and use it against you.

Again, personal preference. Twitter is more convenient for my lifestyle. Facebook is more convenient for yours.

People seem to be forgetting that we're in the discussion section, where we discuss and debate our ideas, thoughts, and personal preferences.

    That's why we're here.

I only posted because it seemed like everyone was hating on something I liked, and I felt the need to defend it.

Twitter's original aim is extreme narcissism.
But that can be said for a large number of internet sites.

What it comes down to is personal opinion and use.
I've got one, but use it for the purpose of another site. Plus I never use facebook.

I myself love Twitter. Facebook annoys me and so does myspace.
I don't really see the point of it either. I basically spam it for no reason. I love it because it's simple and it's the quickest way to get news as it's updated every few seconds. It's also another way of talking to friends I have on the other side of the world.
It's like marmite - you love it or you hate it. It just comes down to personal opinion.

It isn't any more stupid than facebook or myspace.
That's why don't use either of those things.

I have a twitter account but I don't know how to really use it or what its for so I just left it alone. I'll keep it because one day I'll figure it out, then maybe have some fun on it.
