Underage Smoking and drinking.

At my school, there are people in grade 8 that smoke cigarettes and marijuana(sp?)

And there are people in grade 10+ that drink beer, vodka, etc.

It disgusts me. Just because they smoke and drink doesnt mean they're cool. It makes no sense. Its just killing them slowly and I cant believe how many times I've been offered a smoke or a drink. Its amazing how people at that age can get ahold of these things.

Opinions?

 

Each to their own I guess. I can't say anything negative about it, because I'm guilty of both. Around here, there's basically no kids around here who DON'T drink. I've never done drugs or smoked marijuana, I've only even had booze and **** XD I only ever rarely smoke and that's when I drink. I don't do it to be cool, I don't give a crap what people think of it. To me it's good, and I think it's my life. If I wanna die early then I wanna die early >_>

 

If you dont do it to be cool why do you even do it in the first place? It makes no sense to me. How is it "good", but your correct, it is you life. Do what you please. Even if it makes you die a little everytime you do it.

 

yeah i dont like to see underage smoking or drinking (not that i see much) but its bad i mean you can ruin your life if you do that you could die froum underage smoking and drinking i mean smoking cause lung cancer while drinking can make you become drunk and crash or somthing so yeah i think it is bad and someones gotta stop it :/

 

They do cause they like the "good feeling" that drinks and drugs give 'em. Similar to being addicted to gum or some of the sort. Can't blame 'em, I do it too...

HAHA!!! Gotcha! I hate drugs! It's bad for your health and when you grow up, you won't be able to play KHearts anymore. How fun is that?! Then you get mad often and jump in the state of abnormality. You think you have it in control, but that's the mind-controlling part. Sure you're alright, but problems occur 50-100% more often. It's like surfing the net and getting your PC a virus. Trust me, it's not cool. I'd say, "Drop it or die..." For those who like 'em, I accept their opinion and leave them alone.

 

I know people who do all of that. Smoke, do drugs, and drink. I personally don't and I think it's disgusting and stupid. They're slowly killing themselves and they don't know it. I've never been asked by any of them to do it, cuz most are adults, but the kid I know that does it has never asked me to do it. It can ruin your love life too. One of my friends broke up with that kid I know because he said he would stop, and he didn't. It ruins your physical and mental health and it's just plain disgusting.

 

This amazes me, I never new there was underage smoking of weed? please tell me the legal age limit?

 

I'm most likely never doing drugs because of all the disgusting **** I was shown in Health class. DD:

This girl who was drinking since she was 13 got a brain scan, and the back of her brain was all mushy.. Mushier. It was messed up.

And there was this thing about chewing tobacco, the pictures of the rotten tongues was horrifying. DD: And they interviewed this guy who had to get his jaw taken out.

So I can't stand hearing about kids doing drugs, roaarrr.

 

WTF? Okay, I've only had a few cigs in my life (it's not my fault.. peer pressure. PEER PRESSURE!!!) THAT is enough to make me stop. Especially the.. brain thing. EW *pukes*

 

I've never taken illegal drugs and I've only tried smoking once and it sucked.

But with alcohol it's a whole different matter, heh. Then again, I'm not like.. 13 anymore. =P

 

A tad bit of alchol will not do that to you, thats what happens when you go out and get **** faced every night. smoking cigs is just ******ed.

 

I agree. Drinking isn't bad. Binge drinking is.

 

unfortuantly, younger kids look up to either their parents or the "cool" people at their school. they'll copy what they do, and sometimes they turn out bad. younger kids can buy cigs, and other things from older kids who are allowed to buy them. it sickens me to see anyone smoking. i know i can't stop them, but i try to stay away from the. maybe they want to kill themselves with smoke, but i dont want any. many people also die from second-hand smoke, which is horrible because they weren't smoking. there's this one kid who is the "wannabie tough guy" at my bus stop. he smokes before the bus comes, and its just wrong. my other friend also used to be normal. like, not smoking and stuff. now he wears giant chains, dyes his hair tons of different colors, smokes, i think he does drugs, and other things. its amazing how a few years can change people. another person i know at school basically cries when someone mentions that her dad smokes, and her dad is a teacher. she tried to stop him from smoking and she thought he did, but he did it secretly. its so sad that people get hooked on something that will kill them....:(

 

Its like almost everything, If done in moderation its ok.

 

I haven't touched any of it & i don't plan on it. They are a nasty habit if you get hooked.

 

you got that right...i watch the show "cops" every once in a while, and one episode had this drugged up guy who lived in an alley. the cops picked him up, examined him and this is what they siad. " we've had to come to this are for a while now. they huff paint and stuff like that. we've taken them to an institution that would help them, but whenever they get out, they're back to huffing again."
camera pans to the drug addicts arms and elbows, revealing tons of bleeding cuts and scrapes along his arm.
"see that? the paint that he huffs destroys his brain. he can't control his legs and falls, he doesn't even know that his arm is cut up from falling so many times"
it was horrible, and even though he huffed paint, other drugs to the same thing.

 

You get addicted, though.

And also if you smoked pot like once a week that's moderation but you're still killing yourself. I'd say drinking is the only exception, because there's a line between drinking and over-drinking. My parents are responsible drinkers >_>

 

Now im going to school you. Weed has no negitive affects if done in moderation. I myself may not do it but I do know people who do and these people are some of the smartest people you will ever meet. oh and for affects on lungs if done in moderation there is no damage done(or very little). Weed has been used as herbal medicin for thousands of years.

No drugs in the first place and healthy is better then trying to do drugs without getting any effects. D:

 

You dont understand do you, weed has been used as medicinal herb for 1000 of years, theres no neg affects to it, its not bad on your lungs because theres no toxens.
