She actually did try to stab it with a kitchen knife, but it was an enraged ape. It didn't even notice.

The person who got mauled survived but even the surgeons were horrified by her mangled face.

My sister heard this in her history class. They called it a monkey and the teacher went "NO IT'S A CHIMPANZEE!" lol

But anyway apparently after 10 years of a chimpanzee's life even when tamed their mind just goes back to the wild and they forget everything they learned from humans. She probably was trying to hold it when it attacked. It was probably like "Who are these people, and are they trying to kill me. I'll get them first before they get me." or something like that when it attacked the lady.

Personally I think it's the lady's fault. Although I can feel how she felt how the monkey was her life after her husband died, but still she should have gotten a dog or a cat or something like that. Not a chimp!

Chimps I guess don't make good pets now. I think I'll stick with a dog for now...

It's really not a monkey - apes and monkeys are in completely different genetic categories, and diverged from each other (evolutionarily - is that a word?) before humans and apes did. It would be more accurate to call chimps "humans" than "monkeys", but, sadly, many people don't realize that.

No, they really don't. I refer you to my earlier posts.

She shouldn't have given him Zoloft, that's for sure. Those kinds of drugs are messed up.

Well, not when used properly, they're not, but when used on a whole other species, then yes, the results are extremely unpredictable.

What I wanna know is, why had she insisted on having a pet chimp. Was she not satisfied in having a dog or a cat? She simply had to have a 500 pound animal that could kill her (or, obviously in her case, her friend)? I guess she wanted something to brag about.
