If you don't know what this means, "genned" is short for "generated," meaning Pokémon that were created/coded (species, gender, stats, nature, IVs, EVs, etc.) using some sort of computer program and then uploaded into the game. They can be created as perfectly legal 'mons, but still draw fire because they weren't raised or trained in-game.

Do you think they should be permitted in the tourney?

Is this applying to 3DS tournaments?

Well, given that every Pokémon on a simulator would/could be genned...

Doesn't answer my question. A simulator is using only generated Pokemon.

Well, it would be really dumb to ask if genned Pokémon should be allowed in a setting where EVERYTHING would be genned. YES I mean for the 3DS tourneys.

I'm saying yes just because I generate pokemon that are impossible for me to get, but I always generate them at lv1 (or 5, whatever the powersaves is set to), and then train them on my own. All the natures and IVs are completely random for me still, plus the moves are completely legit. In fact, I hate it when people put moves that are impossible on a pokemon, it's just ridiculous. Though I won't lie.....I do kind of wish they made a code to make the EV training a little easier. Those mobs are a pain sometimes to get the right ones.

You could just trade people though ._.

EV Training with mobs? Just use Super Training. I've tried mobs, and the latter method is much quicker in my opinion.

Like what? When you say 'impossible to get' I think of event Pokemon, which have been banned under our rules. just curious what you mean

Back to the question at hand, I gotta point out, unless the Pokémon you're battling has an ability or moves it can't naturally have, there's no way of actually knowing whether it was genned or not.

I'm well aware of this. If people really want to be cheapskates and not admit that they generated their Pokemon, whatever. The only thing they win is a victory over someone who played the games as they're intended: no cash prize, no reward other than personal recognition.

I tried super training the first day I played....and i fell asleep for a while while doing it.

Actually the mobs can be quite helpful as long as you get them right away. Some times it only takes me around 15 minutes to fully max out a stat doing the mobs.

And the trading with people is unreliable, though the......what's it called for random trading? That's fun sometimes. Plus the GTS has people who ask for absurd things for simple pokemon.

Partly that just for the pokedex (and me taking my revenge on people who gets using full legendaries on their teams. Mwahahaha....ok, it's only a darkrai, but that's just me having fun.), but others too because of my inability to trade with other people with my lack of specific pokemon for the GTS, as well as getting starters faster, and my favorite pokemon faster. Seriously, GTS is ridiculous with the requests for some pokemon

I know that feel, but you could use community sites (like....well, this very forum) and try trading with people too.

I used to be on a pokemon community site, but then it got old, and the other died...so sad. But I don't even play my Pokemon too much anymore, and if I'm playing, I usually just want to get what I want done and over with, which is why I normally get bored and restart the story. I know it's a "cry me a river" thing, but it's just the way I feel about it

I just don't like the idea of people avoiding the whole point of trading Pokemon. It's literally one of the most important concepts of Pokemon as a whole.

I never said I don't trade, but if I'm looking for 2 hours for a pokemon when I can get it myself in 2 minutes, I'll take the 2 minutes.....plus I've been more of a fighter than a trader in pokemon

But its the resorting to generated Pokemon at all that irks me. Maybe I'm alone here, but if I'm going to bother with a game with a competitive nature like this game, I'm going to do it legit.

You keep saying stuff like this. Do you not get that the very point of this tournament is to see who is better at USING pokemon? This isn't a contest to see whose better at playing the RPG elements of the pokemon games. Personally, I change the team I use a whole lot. I make a couple new teams every week and mix and match different things. This would be EXTREMELY annoying if I had to manually breed the pokemon.

I...don't care if I have to repeat myself? I want my point to be seen eventually, regardless of how many times people don't agree with it.

I ask again, what is the point of using a 3DS then, if you're just going to generate Pokemon? So you can carry it with you? And why can't it also test how well people play the games using the RPG elements if that's a part of Pokemon?

The way this is going, it feels like there would have to be three tournaments just to appease everyone. Simulator, 3DS with generated Pokemon, 3DS without generated Pokemon. Hell, might just have to scratch the last one because people would still not be honest.

I don't even know what to say guys. I'm trying to be democratic here.
