I enjoy doing things legit as well, but even in X/Y where things became easier, that doesn't mean things are perfect, and sometimes i have to use means that aren't precisely part of the game itself. Plus, it's really just using the assets that are available to you. Like I said, it's not like I do it all the time. And it's not like there's a right or wrong answer to this either, it's just personal opinion on generated pokemon

You don't have to use those means. The asset you are talking about is available to you outside of the game consoles, the games you're playing, and the information that you read/watch/listen to; those things are what I solely stick to.

If you think a competitive pokemon tournament should test how good you are at riding back and forth on a bike and sorting through eggs for hours then we obviously have very different opinions.

Because I'm playing Pokemon, with all of the elements that name includes, not just Pocket Monster Battle Simulator 2013 (which I'd be fine with, so far as EVERYONE is using the same thing.)

    I've proposed alternatives. Discuss those.

You're playing pokemon, we're playing competitive pokemon, there's a difference.

Discuss the solutions. I'm done arguing personal preference in this situation.

I think using actual 3DS and copies of the game is kind of pointless now. We all have different opinions on genned pokemon and some people are just going to have an advantage. When using simulators, the irrelevant parts are taken out and all that matters is the battle, which is what I thought was the purpose of this tournament, to see who, out the people on KHV, is the best at pokemon battles. And overall, sims are WAY easier to set up and use. No friend codes or nothing, just log on, make a team and battle. I think sticking exclusively to simulators is a good choice and will be easier for everyone. Showdown isn't our only option either, there's also pokebattle which doesn't even use a tier system and assigns pokemon different point values. I personally would prefer showdown, but dont mind using other stuff if most people prefer it.

I agree with this, up until using only the simulator (or Pokebattle...haven't tried that one yet)

We should still make tournaments (eventually) for people who want to use their 3DS systems. The way it's going now though, people are going to have to accept the use of generated Pokemon. I won't participate, but I'm sure others will still enjoy it.

I think the best way to start it off would be with only simulators. If people really wanna use their 3DSs, and if we even have enough people, then a separate tourney can be made. People need to expect perfect pokemon though, genned or not.

We don't need every tournament to just be simulator-level with the same expectations of perfection, I think. Kinda makes some people not want to even try, y'know? One big thing I'm already seeing needed with our ideas is numbers, and I'm unsure if we should be so exclusive as to making people only expect perfect Pokemon. Have it stated in the tournament's information. We can form different tournaments with different rules too.

I, for one, will always be using perfect pokemon, simulator or not. I think the majority of people probably will be too, so would it not be best to tell be they should expect it? Of course we could make some beginner level tourneys if we get enough interest.

As I said, if there are going to be perfect Pokemon included, the least we could do for fairness is acknowledge it in the respective tournament info.

I vote yes simply because the Pokemon I've genned have always had random IVs and EVs and started at level one

I pretty much only gen if I want a cool shiny that I can't get in any of my games or if I want a dream world ability (started that after the dream world was shut off)
