brooks was ducked under a check out stand when he heard the door open and slam shut.
i don't know if i should do something or not. normally the zombies would slam the door shut, just leave it wide open.
he held onto his gun tightly and scanned the small grocery store.

jade followed havok into the small store and stayed close to him while they were inside.
i wonder how many zombies are in here?

 

Havok looked around the store, making sure there were no zombies in sight. He then took a seat on a counter. "It's safe here, for now."

 

jade looked around the room.
"well that's good."

brooks heard voices.
they sure don't sound like zombies.
he slowly started to stand up, to look around the room.
when he saw two people out of the corner of his eye he turned in that direction holding his shotgun at them.
"who are you?"

 

Havok nodded towards the ammo. "Start gathering what you need. We shouldn't stay here for lng. Maybe over night at the most."

 

jade was staring at the man holding the gun.

brooks gripped the gun tighter and walked closer to them.
"don't ignore me! now answer. who are you?"

 

Havok looked at him. "Why should I tell you who I am?"

 

brooks raised an eyebrow but kept his grip on the gun tight.
"well if you aren't a zombie and i am not a zombie, then it shouldn't matter. i came in here first, so i feel that we should do introductions. get to know one another."

jade looked back and forth between the man and havok.
not being able to handle the tension, she spoke.
"i'm jade winthrop, and this is havok...just havok. we ran in here when the zombies started to get to heavy outside. i need to find more ammo."
she stood there hoping the two would relax.

 

Havok turned away from the man. "I believe she has said it all. No futher information needs to be reveiled about ourselves."

 

brooks continued to stand there defensively but even gave up.
"i'm brooks."
he lowered his shotgun and put back on the sling around his shoulder.
"i don't think you're going to find any ammo in a grocery store."
he walked away from them to do some shopping.

jade stood there dumbfounded.
she didn't know what to think of the man.
"probably not, but you never know what you might find."

 

Havok sighed and lied back, looking at the darkness above.

 

jade walked away to sift through all the the stuff on the floor and the jumbled up messes on the counters.
i'm never going to find anything useful over here.
she sighed.

brooks walked to the opposite side of the store and grabbed a basket to put his groceries in.
the sooner i get out of here and home to emma the better it is for all of us.
he sighed as he grabbed a box of twinkies off of the shelf.

 

Havok simply continued to just stare. Thought ran through his head.
