i use to think about this a lot. i once thought like roxas did in his first posts, that we just stop existing and become nothing. then i grew to realize that there is some strange energy in everyone and everything that goes beyond death. i do not like to sell myself out to any one idea, but the one that i like most is that our energy/soul/essence/whatever-you-want-to-call-it is free of the body and becomes a part of everything. everything unifies in the end. this is an idea presented in taoism, one that i like very much. its all about universal unity.

reincarnation is something ive thought about often but im not so sure i believe in it the way everyone else does, if i believe it at all. i think that maybe some of that unified energy may one day be reborn into another creature, but i dont think that it is all the energy of the same being. but im really not sure if i believe this part at all.

anyways, i have not found a set belief, and i dont think i ever will. nowadays i dont think about this too often (unless it is brought up in a discussion like this) because i think that life should be lived without worries of such a distant, different, and unanswerable future.

I'm not entirely sure what I believe. I hope that there is somewhere our conciousness continues, but I don't fully believe it does.

If there is a heaven and hell, I would rather go to hell. I don't think those who go to heaven can truly feel, so I would rather face bad than something bland. I think it's more likely that we will be reincarnated, and that it is UNLIKELY that any of our memories will remain.

I think that maybe, if a person has a soul which isn't just created in the mind, upon death it will just dissipate into the area around the body, slowly spreading out.

I have a theory, although I don't exactly believe in it either, it is just a thought about existance. Basically, if a person takes in more (information, other people's emotions, etc.) than they give out, then their existance is less than half. There is no ideal existance level; It depends on the person. (This is somewhat off-topic so I won't go into too much detail...) I think this ties in with what I said about a "soul" dissipating, but shows that people would have "souls" of different sizes.

This is a question that I am VERY religious about considering. I think that good people go to heaven while the bad go to...well...you know.
