What's Pikachu's gender?

Seriously, I never really learned. I always thought Pikachu was a guy, but you never know. Does anyone know? Is Pikachu a hermaphrodite?

 

There are both male and female Pikachus.

 

I think the one with Ash is a male because he acts like a male and if you look he doesn't look like most of the female Pikachu's

proof: If you Trade your pikachu from the yellow edition to the silver or gold edition it is always female

 

I think they say it in one of the earlier episodes, I don't remember haven't watched it in years... But I know that she is a female >\

nintendo said yellow was supposed to be the exact replay of the show ... or atleast something like that xD

 

The show is based on Red and Blue, but Yellow is based on the show =P

 

Pikachu is male. When cheering someone on, it wears a hakama, while Buneary, which is obviously in love with it, wears a cheerleader outfit. And it was embarrassed when it was in a maid outfit.

 

I'm pretty sure Pikachu is male.

I also heard that Mew is female.

I kinda think James may be a hermaphrodite...

If you've seen those clips from the banned episodes of Pokemon you'll know what I mean.

Well..the voice actor for Pikachu is a girl..

 

I always thought Ash's pikachu was a female...

 

Now I'm even more confused than from the beginning of this thread.. O.o

But now I'm thinking Pikachu is a girl...

Lawlz how awesome would it be to be the voice actor/actress for pika?
