What's so great about Avatar?

What?! ¡Are you serious? What a waste of money. One was bad enough. This is what's wrong with our economy: AVATAR. End of story...

 

The roommates and I all said the same thing. It's like they took this movie, Pocahontas, Dances With Wolves and the Smurfs, and tossed it in a a blender on the "puree" setting. Okay, Pandora was pretty to look at though.

 

Yes, cause nothing else contributed to our economy problems. /sarcasm

 

james cameron doesn't mess around

 

Yes. Kung Pow was so much more enjoyable than Avatar. Hell, it makes me laugh to this day.

You're right, he doesn't. He just wastes millions of dollars on a pointless movie franchise. What can they ecen add to it? Didn't see the ending, but I know how pocahontas ends. Both the american history version and the disney version.

 

Its odd, the only movie I've generally liked from James Cameron was Terminator 2.

That movie was just so awesome.

The ending is very cliched, and although it was suppose to be emotional, I could give less of a crap.

Yes, it's a waste of money to be making two sequels for Avatar...but can you blame them? I mean, we live in a society that worships the "Almighty Dollar" and many decisions are made on that ideology. This is the highest grossing film of all time. Do you really expect studio executives (the ones who green light the funding for movies) to say no to this kind of cash cow. They may be soulless, greedy navel gazers, but they're not stupid.

 

I'm glad we hijacked the thread and converted it into a discussion to a superior film with less than half Avatar's budget.

 

Oh man, I haven't watched Kung Pow in ages. Please tell me you got that picture because you know the movie.

Hilarious. You will not find a better parody of terrible Kung Fu films as long as you live.

 

Suggestion: We should watch Kung Pow in the next movie night.
