When do you think 2.5 will/should be released??

Are you translating from a different language Waves? While I think I'm understanding you better I do agree that the choice of words is odd.

Anyway, if you choose to play the credits from the game selection menu in 1.5 you will find scenes from KH2, BBS, and RE:Coded. So those would be the games I would expect to be in 2.5.

As for when, it is a bit harder to tell. I'm not convinced on it being next year but I would be surprised if we didn't get it within 2.

I see no reason why it couldn't be on PS3, and it would make sense to put it on the same system as its sister title. Though I wouldn't be that surprised to see it on the PS4 or even Xbox One as testing the water before KH3. I'm hoping that even if they decide to put it on next gen that they will be able to put it on PS3 as well.



And on the side discussion of how quickly the PS3 will die out, I can say myself that after learning about the PS4 not being backwards compatible I'm making plans to do some preventative maintenance on my PS3 since I plan to play my PS3 and PS2 games for a while yet (it was a launch model that still had PS2 compatibility). Plus the concept of selling the old system only works if someone is buying it from you. If you can get a buyer, then the PS3 market is still active and thus isn't going to promptly roll over and die. If you are a one and done type player that never revisits old games, then maybe you'll ditch the PS3 quick as the market will slow. Although if you are that type of gamer then why you would read this deep into a thread about a re-release in order to read this post confuses me.

It will most defiantly be on the PS3.

The whole purpose of these remakes is to bring in as many fans as possible for KH3. The KH series is 11 (going on 12) years old and with that, plus the multitude of platforms the games has been on, it is easy to loose people. Square wants to ensure that people have the ability to play KH games that were on past generation consoles/handhelds.

And the PS3 is the best tool to do that. We will be entering the awkward phase where the PS4 is getting off its feet and the PS3 is slowing down, but game developers will still use successful consoles for their games that they are just wanting to see, games that will bring in revenue but not games where they are trying to make statements (ie remakes).

I am assuming that Coded will be a HD movie like Days was cause Coded was AWFUL.

 

I'm honestly not entirely sure what they are going to do there. Making it into a console title would be remaking a remake, and one that many people weren't even that fond of. But there isn't a whole lot of story to be told. And what story is there was mostly in bubble scenes, so that would still be a ton of work to animate, voice, and so on. Pretty much any way I look at it there is a lot of work for not that much yield.

 

I have thought about that but Days (which I haven't finished watching yet) Seems like its a bunch of awkward cut scenes jammed together. Maybe SE will take this opportunity to better define Coded's story by adding a few cut scenes here and there to flush out the story better?

 

I'm pretty sure they're gonna do the gameplay though. Nomura said himself that Days was going to be gameplay except he wanted the release to be as close to the 10th anniversary as possible. I don't think they have a target release this time so it's pretty likely that Coded will have gameplay.

 

I'm thinking (hoping) it will be released simultaneously worldwide. These two should technically have less problems to fix than KHI. And since a trailer was included in the credits for 1.5, we can assume that this has been in production for quite some time.

2014 will be a good year.

 

It's already been confirmed that it will be released in 2014, but I wonder if re:Coded will be playable or it will be like 358/2 Days, where it's a movie....

I guess we just have to wait and see!

Square might want to use E3 as a spring board for better sales? But if anything they might to similar release time tables from 1.5 (Spring, Japan. Fall, Everywhere else).

I am just happy that its official. I knew it would happen one day but I am just pumped that its coming out sooner rather than later.

I am curious though why they didn't announce at TGS? It was only a few weeks ago...

 

It might've been to just have some time to let the overseas folk have their chance to play through 1.5. to build more hype among the mainstream/more casual KH fans & all.
