Kauiri was raised in Radiant Garden a.k.a. Hollow Bastion. Her parents were not on the island. They were never seen or heard of in conversations or ansem reports.

 

well, Kairi has a grandma(probly dead) Sora has a mom, and Riku...well...he's just a loner, but the story is just revolving about them(Sora, Riku, and Kairi) so i don't think it doesn't really matter unless the parents have major parts.

 

We all know they're there, but since the story revolves aroud Sora, Riku, and Kairi, they aren't really important so they aren't shown.

Kairi was also adopted by the mayor of Destiny Islands, but she also wasn't missing as long as the two boys were, except for KH1.

I haven't read any of the reports, I just collected them :P. I might read them sometime soon.

 

You need to.It will explain why Roxas and Namine have hearts and how Roxas came from Kairi's heart while Namine came from Sora's.

 

I had posted the same thread months ago. now let me say that parents do NOT ruin adventures if they are in the end. Roxas 13, I never got an exact answer, but I think that in the ending of Kingdom Hearts 2, when Sora and Riku go back to the islands, and Riku's sitting in the tree, they had already been there a few days, and caught up with their parents.
In the end, I think that Tetsuya Nomura and the others merely FORGOT about adding the parents. it was confusing as it was, and they might have been to busy to think about it. This is my best answer. I'm Sorry if I couldn't be of more help.

 

as for Sora and riku, i dont know. but kairi, if im right the mayor found her and adopted her,i think thats in the reports for kh1

 

It's not only in the reports. In KH1, there is a cutscene with Riku and Sora as little kids in the Secret Cave. They talk some there and both mention going to see the girl that arrived to Destiny Islands and that is Kairi. She was taken in by the mayor after she was found. It's what inspired Riku to want to leave and explore.

 

I've always wondered this...Especially with Sora because his mom is like...Calling for him in the first game before he goes out to raft. @.@ And when they came back after KH2, their parents weren't there to greet them. xD​

I often dont like it when a book or game uses the over-used or basic explanation, and says that the main characters are orphans. If there are parents, the way the mains interact with them can help expand on theire character. Without parents, there just seems to be blanks in their story. They dont have to be important or have to be in any scenes, but seeing or hearing about them would be more realistic and sensible.

I think that DI, the world we start and finish on, should have been revealed more. We dont learn very much about it in detail at all, and it leaves blanks in the characters that Id liek to see filled. No, the parents shouldnt have been featured, but a little info about them would have been nice. Still, Sora and Riku would be back with them now, I suppose.

I think there could probably be a secret behind their parents. It would be really easy for just about anything to be done with the parents, since so little about them's been established.

Well, there's no real point in showing any of their parents. You hear Sora's mom once and Kairi's grandma does a cameo I think, but that's about it.
Personally, I couldn't care less about their parents. They wouldn't add anything to the story. (Except maybe why Riku wanted to run away so badly XP).

 

Good question. I'm sue the parents are having the time of their lives while their kids are off saving the worlds. Seriously, family isn't important in Kh so there's no point in having parents make appearances...unless SE randomly decided that family should play an important aspect in the series then they would be included. Not likely to happen though.

 

It'd be kool if they were related to Terra, Ven, and Aqua and they were really their parents.

Because, wouldn't Sora's mom kick his ass when he got back to Destiny Islands in Kh2?
