My friend asked me which kh he plays now, he finished khI. What do you guys think?
What order you guys think i should tell my friend to play? There are many kh's...
Some guys says it is CoM, others says Days, others says to play Days just after II...
What is the best choice of order to play?

Personally, I think the best order is

    KH1 -> COM -> Days -> KH2 -> BBS -> Coded

You don't necessarily need to play KH1 before KH2 (I found KH2 did a nice catch-up for the events of the first game), but COM definitely should be played before KH2. BBS, despite being a prequel, really expands on the Xehanort questions from KH2, so I would play that next, and Coded is really just prepping for KH: Dream Drop Distance (and explaining the letter in KH2), so I would play that last.

To avoid story confusion, I would probably go with Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories, and Kingdom Hearts II.

After KH1, go with CoM, or Re:CoM. Then KHII, 358/2days (this is before KHII chronologically, but was released after, and would make the storyline more mysterious and easier to understand.) Then BBS, which starts 10 before KH1, then Re:Coded.

Honestly this is the best route to take, because that's how they were released. Plus the storyline is unique in the fact that you may play something out of "order", but things are clearer that way.

You could do it a few ways, my personal preference for the order of the games is Kingdom Hearts, (Re:)Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II, 358/2 Days, Birth By Sleep, and then Re:Coded.

That's the way I did it. Seems right.

I'd have to say KHI --> KH CoM --> Days --> KHII --> BBS --> Coded.
Chain of memories is basically a given to play KHII to understand what's going on in a few parts, and days I say before KHII just so you know what happened with roxas and everything. BBS after KHII because it's kinda like a backstory almsot, while it is technically a prequal, but it's still probably best to play after KHII, and obviously Coded is last since it takes place after KHII

There is a lot of flux on how you can do this.

Chain of Memories is an interesting one. My first time playing KH2 I had not played CoM (since I didn't own a GBA and RE:CoM wasn't released yet) and you end up getting empathy for Sora being confused and not remembering stuff because you don't know it either. But at the same time KH2 does a good job of recapping KH1, but a pitiful job at telling you what CoM was about. I thought Namine was creepy enough it took me a long time to find out she was actually good. And it wasn't helped by the whole working with DiZ thing. But I digress.

Days is a debated one but I think it belongs after KH2. I mean the bulk of this game is fan service regarding the organization. Through CoM and KH2 you get them revealed to you one by one and learn the personality of them. In Days it is assumed you already know them and thus there is no introduction to them really and they focus a lot on the one person you don't know, Xion. With CO members especially I could see new players just going "Who was that?"

BBS may be a prequel, but a lot of it gets into the current realm of Kingdom Hearts. This is probably the one time that I think it might be good to switch away from release order and put this one before Days. I ended up spending quite a bit of time revisiting Days after understanding Xehanort from BBS.

And with the end of RE:CoM holding references to Days and BBS I would either put it before or after both, but which way doesn't really matter. I really only lean towards after because it would then lead into 3D nicely.

So rants aside the release order is really what I recommend with BBS and Days being the only exception.

This was the same with me. I hadn't even known there was a chain of memories for the GBA until I went to a friend's house

that, and Days ends and KHII starts directly where Days ended

After KH1 it should be Chain of Memories -> KH2 -> Days -> Birth by Sleep -> Coded. The reason why someone should play Days after KH2 is because you probably won't care much for the story unless you've gone through KH2 first since by that time you would have seen all the Organization XIII members and will have reason to want to see what happened with Roxas previously. Though I guess you could just play Days first to get all the background you need for KH2. >>

The order should go KH 1 then Chain of memories then 358/2 days then KH2 then Birth by SLeep and finally KH recoded

I'd say KH1 first then so on, everything after that doesn't matter as long as you know some idea of the story.

    I'd say KH > KH:COM > KH2

The order for the other games don't really matter since they're just expanding on the overall general story.

I would say KHI then COM and then KHII
But you could easily play KHII before COM as I'm pretty sure KHII doesn't mention too much about COM (if anything)
The handhelds can then come last.

I agree with the others. Although you could go completely without CoM/Re:CoM
As long as you have a general idea of what happened in CoM, you should be alright.
I went in this direction, personally.
KHII, KH, Re:CoM, 365/2 Days, BbS, and then Re: Coded

You have 3 choices. You either play in order they were made so as you can experience things the way we did: KH1 - COM - KH2 - Days - BBS - Re:Coded.
    You could play in order of story: BBS - KH1 - COM - Days - KH2 - Re:Coded.
The third choice is just play the game available to you. Last choice isn't really the best though.

    BBS -> KH -> KH358/2 (before Castle Oblivion) KH:CoM -> KH358/2 after Castle Oblivion) -> KHII -> re:coded

Even though I played it like KHII, KH358/2, KH, BBS and then re:coded. I've never played CoM.

Don't do what I did, I got KHII first by accident because I'm blind.

So it went something like this: KHII > BBS > 358/2
Haven't played any of the other games yet, stolen video game consoles have delayed that. Once I get a PS2 or a replacement PS3, I'll get KHI. :)
