which Kingdom Hearts game was the most important?

I've read Another Report. Nomura said that Riku was a chosen weilder and a scene was hinting at it. That doesn't necessarily mean it's Terra because he himself has said whether LS and Terra are the same is "irrevelent and uncertain."
So it's still ambiguous to me.
Until more info is revealed, I don't believe Terra choosing Riku is completely canon.

 

I think there're very few meanings you can reach behind a Terra-proxy telling Sora he wasn't the one chosen for the KK, with Nomura confirming that scene to hint that Riku was chosen.
And it not mattering whether or not the LS is Terra or not is because his presence there originally was not Nomura's intention - the developers put it in so he mostly said it to get around the canon issue. That doesn't mean they pulled the LS's words out of nowhere especially with Nomura referencing it in Another Report which is blunt canon, and even going as far as

making the Keyblade transformation the means of transportation in BBS

further tying the LS into the canon.

 

I don't really know actually because they all tie into one story and each game is just breaking it apart so I think all of them are just as important. But I guess when birth by sleep comes out and they explain the truth behind kingdom hearts (you know before it all started) I guess that would be the important one.

 

Kingdom Hearts II...
Not KH1, because it's not the first game and not everything started from there.
KH2 on the other hand, has a lot of things going on.
99% of what has been happening in all other games is connected to KH2.
Basically, if we think the KH series as a net, KH2 is in the center so far.

I agree with you, but with so many side stories I don't even know what's the middle. ;-;

For me it'll be 358/2 days, even though it was long and repetitive, it shows how the main Villians in KH2 lived and passed their time. it also explained Roxas and Axel's friendship further, not to mention their other best friend Xion.

 

I'd say that the original Kingdom Hearts was probably the most important. It was in that game Sora got his keyblade and he learned how to be a strong person among other things. Of course I haven't played BBS yet, I'll probably change my view to that one once I play it.

 

KH1

BbS is a prequel but it's in KH that the foundation for 2, Coded, and the possible release of 3 is laid. Without 1, we wouldn't have any of the other games, or, might I add, KHV itself.

 

I'd say KH1 because it shows a lot more of important things especially the part when sora turns into a heartless & mostly all the other games links back to Kh1 like for example in kh2 in the beginning they start off by showing clips from kh1.
