    Definatly Roxas

I always though Sora was a ******(no offense intended to those Sora lovers)
The only reason I started to play the games was because I saw Roxas in KH2.

Ok, since this was bumped, I'd like to add Axel and Xion to the list. Days made me like Axel a lot and showed us how CoM Axel became KH2 Axel which is what I was hoping it'd do.
And Xion, well, she's one of my two fav girls now. Love her to bits.

Roxas, Axel, Xion. Yeah, three-way tie. And I know it's cheesy, picking the three blokes in the banner, but I can't help it. Out of the whole cast, my heart just goes out to them the most (no pun intended). Roxas was thrust into a situation over which he had no control and couldn't even fathom escaping for a long time; in fact, he was almost always being dragged along on a leash. I didn't get any closure from seeing him merge with Sora; he left so much unrealized.

Which brings me to Axel. Boy did he get the short stick. He had to watch everyone go off and "fulfill their destiny," "do what had to be done," and so on and so forth, and he couldn't do a damn thing to change their minds. Axel is the only one who really resisted the cruel fate that befell them all; he was always looking out for the kids when they didn't have the skills or influence to get by, he was always trying to keep them from disappearing from each others' lives. For all his effort, he was left alone in the end. He got no closure. He just got a glimpse of something he wanted back when he looked at Sora; he died alone. And he was the only one who believed they could have made it work another way. That really speaks to me, even if it was for selfish reasons that he did what he did.

And Xion. Whoo boy, Xion. It's hard to decide whether Axel or Xion got it worse, only because Xion was happy with what happened to her. She was happy that no one would remember her. No... I don't think she was. I can't even fathom that. Because she was so happy when Roxas remembered her name. Even if she was all right with what happened to her, it's not right. Christ... Well, this is how well Nomura roped me in, right here. I talk like she's a real person. Because she was to me. She was a confused little girl, or whatever you want to call her, who just wanted an identity, some friends to make her feel real. And she didn't get anything. She didn't even get to stay in her friends' memories. The scene that plays on the bottom screen of the DS during the final fight with Riku is simultaneously one of the most horrifying and most depressing things I've ever witnessed. When I hear Dirge of the Fourteenth, I get all choked up, a chill runs up my spine, and my eyes start to tear up a little. That girl was my worst nightmare realized, and she didn't deserve one f**king second of it. I'll never forget her, even if everyone else does.

...Okay, enough of that... Anyway, my second favorites are probably Xehanort's Heartless and Maleficent. Because I'm just a sucker for big, loud, over-the-top, card-carrying villainy. There's nothin' like it in the whole wide world.

This I definitely agree with. Although I dislike that he loses his relentless optimism in the games after KH1, since I found that to be part of his charm, I like that he became a bit more human. I feel like he actually cared about what happened in the later games. I especially felt it in the shock he expressed at seeing Axel kill Vexen (the PS2 dub really brought it to life), and in the trembling in his voice when all he has to say about Goofy's near-death is "This is not happening." Plus, out of all the major heroes excepting Mickey and the gang, I feel like he's the only one I don't hate after the events of Days. Speaking of which...

I rather preferred him at the beginning, because he was fearless. In the end, he was a hollow shell of that fearless boy. He was so deathly afraid of losing Sora that he didn't consider he might be destroying a friendship so much like his. The Roxas-Xion-Axel parallel and his part in breaking that up basically destroyed all respect I had for him and permanently demonized him in my eyes. Despite this, I think Nomura does a good job of making me hate him, so I like him as a character. I would just despise him as a person.

Y'know, I really forgot how tragic Namine's story was, having not played CoM in so long. Still, I think you're downplaying Roxas's tragedy by a lot, especially considering the events of Days. I don't think he'd be so content with just being whole if he knew what he'd lost. Then again, the idea of people becoming one and being content holds no charm for me. I treasure the individual selves. And Roxas lost himself to Sora, mostly because everyone was frigging shoving him back in. I think Namine identified most with him, regardless of what she had done to Sora; they both wanted to persist, and Roxas wanted to be in others' hearts a lot more than the rest of the Organization did, even if he wanted to be internally whole in the end, like you said.

I think you're being hypocritical in this sense. You like Roxas, Axel and Xion who each did everything they could in their own way regardless of the reason but blame Riku for doing the same?
And think about it this way - he had not came into contact with Xion, what would've happened? A Happy forever and a day? Hell no. The same tragedy still would've happened if not even worse. Roxas and Xion would've ended up killing each other, and then whoever it was that was left standing still would've gone to look for Sora because that's what they were both looking for - their origin, and answers.
And I'll be cold and evil and quote Saix - what would you rather the suffer the loss of, a make belief friendship - or a real one?
They're Nobodies. And until they bother to clear up what was really going on with them and who had whose Heart, their friendship was fake, basing on Axel's nostalgic Memories of his childhood and Roxas and Xion's Memories of Sora's.
Think about it this way - if Sora and Riku weren't such good friends, Roxas probably never would've been able to be such "good friends" (arguable, Days is what made me hate him and forever more not believe in AkuRoku, even as a friendship) with anyone, let alone someone who at first was a cynical ******* just like the rest of them.
I don't think Nomura really intended for anyone to hate Riku, it's just a story where everyone maybe other than Kairi who was left on the islands have their own circumstances and their own motives.
Riku might seem selfish to you but he could've pulled Xion back by the hair when he met her on the Islands - he didn't, but gave her the time she needed to come into terms with things. Would he have brought her in by force if he had to? Probably, but he didn't, since Xion is the girl you and I love so much. And the Deep Dive battle amounted to him saving Roxas's life.
It's alright to hate him if you're that attached to RAX, I suppose, but by going that way you're actually disregarding Riku's own circumstances. :\ Which sadly enough YES go beyond "I want to save Sora" - it's "I want to save Sora and thus keep the Organization from destroying everything as we know it."

    Re-read that post and you'll see that post was made before I played Days xD;
I still think though that Namine's tragedy was bigger than Roxas's if only because she was always aware of what was going on with her. Roxas was kept in his own bubble, one he himself insisted on breaking by being a horrible friend to Axel who did EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING he could for Roxas and Xion, and Roxas spat in his face.

And yet that's how Namine tried to reassure him at the end and how he managed to accept it at the end - becoming whole. And he did so after he watched Axel disappear and was well on his way until they met Axel again before his death, too. So KH2 actually goes against what you said. Like Riku said - it might've been different had Roxas actually managed to meet Sora.
He wouldn't be losing more than he'd be getting back, never forget that.

Namine wanted Roxas to get the hell out of the way so that Sora can wake up. This is confirmed by both Days and KH2 and anything else she said in the Prologue can be seen as her coating Roxas into it. Which is something that changed in my views of her since I made that post - she's a selfish witch when she needs to be but I can't hold it against her regardless, if only because she too shares Roxas's circumstances of being no more than a year old at the time.
Roxas to her, however, was a means to an end, even at the very end - she needs him to remain inside Sora so that she won't disappear inside Kairi.

And Roxas didn't really want to stay in other's Hearts. He was incapable of thinking on this level, to me, unlike Namine who was forced to do so if only through the nature of her powers.
Roxas wanted to keep on eating ice cream with Xion and Axel on the clock tower. That's not something I can take in any meaning either way.

The only one Roxas and Xion ever affected in such a way was Axel, and they really didn't know what they were doing to him; if they did, they didn't think they had a choice. As for Axel... Maybe there's some similarity. He did want to get Roxas back out of Sora. But that would still leave Riku with Kairi. Whereas Axel, without Roxas, was left with no one. And I'm not blaming Riku for what he did; I just hate him for it. There's a difference.

You don't know that. They could have escaped, and taken down the Organization themselves. Axel managed to escape, and even evaded capture or any major confrontations with the Organization, despite their ability to practically be everywhere at once. Roxas was eventually as skilled with his Keyblade as Sora. They could have made it work. But they got so caught up in having to know where they came from that they just abandoned all that. Why should they care about their origin? They should have been looking forward.

There was nothing fake or make-believe about their friendship. I wish Nomura would stop beating around the bush and clear this up, because he's already dropped a plethora of hints that Nobodies and hearts aren't mutually exclusive.

Yeah, that probably did depend on Sora and Riku's friendship, because that was the basis for Roxas developing an emotional attachment to Axel, and later Xion. That doesn't mean the former friendship takes precedence over the latter. And besides, that basis on two somebodies' relationship makes their friendship more real than you're saying it is; even if it's just transference, it has grounds in the emotions of two real people confirmed to have hearts.

Only to have it taken another way, at best. What harm would it have done for him to let Roxas go? Better yet, help him, if he'd die otherwise. Then, when he'd settled everything and he was truly content, maybe he'd go willingly to meet Sora. He left unfinished business. He left Axel. And he forgot about Xion. That could have been corrected if Riku hadn't dragged him unconscious back to Ansem.

It's alright to hate him if you're that attached to RAX, I suppose, but by going that way you're actually disregarding Riku's own circumstances. :\ [/QUOTE]

...All right... Maybe Riku didn't think the whole thing through. Maybe I am being hard on him. It's just... in the final fight... he taunted Roxas. He was forgetting about Xion too, and he brought it up, for no real reason other than to get under Roxas's skin. That, to me, was so demonizing for him. But I dunno, I guess I am being biased. I just place a lot more value on the life and individuality of a Nobody than the whole series seems to, given my actual, real-life views on how emotions are expressed.

I'd just like to see the look on his face if he saw those three sitting up on the clock tower, snacking on some sea salt ice cream, talking and laughing and carrying on. Better yet, on the giant tree trunk on the Destiny Islands. I'd like to see if he could still bring Xion and Roxas back then.

I doubt he cared about that nearly as much. Ansem the Wise sure did, and he may have inspired Riku to care somewhat, but I hate Ansem even more. He refused to believe for a fraction of a second that he was torturing two very real, very emotional kids. They were just straight-up nothings to him. Not only is that unfair by anyone's standard, as a scientist it's downright deplorable to be so closed-minded. He should have known up front that he could be totally wrong, especially since he eventually admitted he'd been proven wrong about a lot of his hypotheses already.

May be. Like I said, I forgot how bad she had it until I read your post.

I don't think Roxas consciously made the decision to abandon or betray Axel. I think he saw Axel as loyal to the Organization, who he thoroughly hated at the end of Days. That's the tragedy of it; he had no idea Axel was still on his side. If he'd been there when Axel broke down the last time he tried to capture Xion, maybe things would've gone differently. But, like I said, Axel was the only one who resisted what was going to happen to them; I know full well that Roxas was partially to blame for Axel ending up alone. But that's why I'm so sympathetic with Axel; he didn't care about that at all. He was willing to forgive, so long as he could just have Roxas back. And, had he succeeded, I think Roxas would have realized his mistake. They could have made it work. They had SO many chances to make it work. But no one would let them. Not even Roxas.

I just can't accept that. Roxas was not Sora. He had nothing to gain from "returning" to Sora that he could not gain on his own. He of all people had come the closest to having a real heart.

I think a lot of that was because Ansem was jumping down her throat trying to get her to revive Sora. Namine at least tried to tell Roxas what he deserved to know. I don't fault her nearly as much for what happened or how Roxas was treated as I do Ansem; he would hardly even let her speak to Roxas.

Then I guess that explains your sympathy for Riku in a nutshell. What he did to them just didn't carry as much weight in your eyes. I just can't accept what everyone else did so easily. In fact, I've always believed Nobodies had hearts; what I think they lack is all basic knowledge of how to express their emotions, save for what carries over from their "somebodies."

I liked Riku. He was the main reason they were loooking for him, and well...he is cute, and he's had a rough past.

Not in the mood to reply to everything, so I will just to that:

I think that's actually what would've gotten him to do it even more - because it'd remind him even more of what Roxas and Xion being in existence was keeping him from.
    Like Xion said -
Do you hate me for taking your friend away from you?
Hate? No. But he IS sad and wants Sora back.

    I love Vexen <3

I feel really sorry for him to be honest, he seems like he was misunderstood as a human and as a Nobody. And people judge him quickly in fandom, just because he isn't a typical Square 'Bishounen' he's quickly decided to be 'uncool'. Which is exactly why he isn't liked in the game itself I think, he's a bit quirky and eccentric and not everything he does goes perfectly. And even if he did try to manipulate Riku and Sora it was only because Marluxia had driven him mad by insulting his pride so much. You have to admit, if you had someone a couple of years/grades lower then you bossing you around and calling you stupid when you're actually pretty intelligent you would get really PO'd. I know I would.

The only thing I could fault him on is his pride, but some people are just like that. Personally I find it adds more to his charm.
I guess Vexen is like marmite, you either like him or hate him.

For Organization XIII it is a tie between Demyx, Luxord, and Axel at the closest I can think to get. They just have personalities I like in a character, no matter how fraud, and Axel gives himself up at the end. Does crying at his death scene the first time I played count him as a favorite characher? I would think so... Then again my elements are Chance and Water, so ergo Luxord and Demyx.

For Disney Characters it is most definately Stitch. No comparisons are neccesary. The best Summon, the funniest, and his introduction is quite unique to say the least.

For Square-Characters, Leon. No whys, just a duh.

Luxord is my favorite mostly cause I think he ended up getting screwed over in the end and if I was in a casino he's the dude I'd have with me he just had an air of mysterios quality about him

I'm a fan of demyx and axel to along with roxas riku xigbar luxord zexion siax
But the one person in the series I admire most was lexeus . He was the most honest of them all and always had good intentions.
Yeah luxord and lexeus are my all time most favorites

Luxord, since I like his air of sophistication, his british accent and his rhetoric.
    He just rocks!
