Where you been? They always do that. And it drives my mother every year...

A lot more money can be made from Christmas than Thanksgiving so it's better to put people in the Christmas mood early on.

I got back from watching the lights get turned on. They played Bon Jovi. I liked it.

But it's too early for me.

It's because no one has any thanksgiving songs so they move on to the next big holiday

The same reason they start having 'Christmas Savings' sales after Halloween.

Oh, it's that time of the year again huh? Unfortunately they always start playing Christmas music around now. And I don't listen to the radio, so I shouldn't have to be tortured by it, but my brother plays it 24/7 till like New Years, so we'll just have to live through it

They do it every year. I honestly haven't noticed it until this year.
Christmas songs... they also do it with decorations.

Pretty sure they made it more noticeable by putting up the streetlight wreaths, setting up a giant Christmas tree in the middle of a roundabout (I finally found one here. There's only ONE in our city. Also, kind of dangerous for them to be doing that), and setting up a giant Christmas tree bulb decoration at the entrance of the strip mall.
It's just to make people think about Christmas more, get paranoid and start buying gifts before they sell out. I'd rather buy them before Thanksgiving than on or after Black Friday, honestly.

    Black Friday. Oh joy.

I don't really think it's that bad. December/Christmas is my favorite time of the year.

When I first noticed it, I was kind of annoyed by it. But then someone pointed out part of the reason we (excluding corporations and such) do it is to draw 'Christmas-time' out for longer than the month, because once it's gone, it's gone for a year.

Hey, that's actually not a bad way to think about it. Pretty positive. :)

Canada. Where Thanksgiving celebrates the harvest like normal people.
