Will of Fire

Panzela turned over in her sleep, mumbling something from a dream.

 

Dai looked up at the clock tower. "I'm sorry, Becky-chan, but I've to get going." She stood and walked briskly to her house. It's almost nine...

 

Panzela woke up with a snap. "Oh no." she breathed, looking at her clock. "Almost 9..." she pulled her knees in tightly to her chest and waited for whatever was going to happen, to happen.

 

Just before Dai reached her driveway, she heard the tolls of the clock tower signaling nine o'clock. Damn! She held her stomach as heat and pain rose within her.

"My turn." Megumi laughed as she emerged, spreading her wings.

 

Panzela got up from her bed and looked out a window that had a clear enough veiw of the town. She leaned on the sill and waited silently. Not many people know it, but all hell will break loose soon.

 

Megumi rose to fly above the houses. "Relax, Dai-sama. This won't take long. I might not even have to hurt very many people." She smirked.

"What are you doing?" Dai asked hatefully.

"Taking back what's ours." Megumi flew to the museum.

 

Panzela saw something in the sky and leaned closer to make out what it was, "Megumi." she said, barely loud enough for her to hear herself.

 

Megumi flew through a window and shook off the glass from her feathers. "Now, where is that scroll?"

"Scroll?" Dai was confused.

"That's what I said. Your ancestors were in the war. That particular scroll has instructions coded in it that can only be brought out by my magic." Megumi walked down a hallway, ignoring the alarm.

 

Panzela saw her head for the museum and guessed that she was going to steal something, she let out a sigh of relieve, "I don't know how much damage she can do, but stealing is better than full on murder. I should have known she wouldn't do that but still..."

OOC: Megumi is going to the muesem to take back something. that's about it. :)

 

Megumi heard the rushed footsteps of the police. "Great." She put a barrier of white feathers to delay them.

"That better not hurt them." Dai said.

"You care too much." Megumi came upon the scroll in it's glass case.

 

Panzela opened the window, closed her eyes, and focused on what was on the wind. She heard police and alarms, "Jeez, she's not very careful." she muttered.

 

Megumi broke the case and gently lifted the scroll. She could hear the police banging on the barrier. "They're dumb."

So are you. Dai thought.

"I heard that." Megumi let down the barrier, waved at the police, and flew out another window.

 

Panzela heard the police yelling and opened her eyes in time to see Megumi flying away from the muesum. She closed her window and sat down on the bed. Fast, messy, loud. She may be powerful, but she would be horrible at this sort of thing without that power. she shrugged, changed into her nightclothes and went to bed.

 

Megumi flew in to Dai's room through the open window. She set the scroll on Dai's desk and laid down on Dai's bed. She let Dai become herself again.

Dai was instantly unconscious on her bed.

 

Panzela fell into a deep sleep and a frown formed on her lips.

 

The sun rose on a new day, but Dai didn't wake.

Hiwatari came into Dai's room. "So Megumi's power was too much this time." He muttered. "I have a weak daughter..." He sighed and left her room.

 

Panzela woke up and looked at the clock. "Oh, shoot. I slept in!" she said, jumping up to get ready. She quickly dressed, grabbed her bag and ran to school. Honestly, I have got to get back into the habit of waking on time again.
