OMFG. OMFG.

This is going to be terrible. What the **** were they thinking? That we wouldn't notice that this movie is a complete ripoff of Battle Royale?!?

I'm still going to see it. And anyone here who enjoys BR should too! Why?

Simple reason: As any of you worthy of calling yourselves Battle Royale fans should know, a remake by the Fast and Furious guy is in the works. HOPEFULLY, if this movie is successful then at least the BR remake could be prolonged if not dropped completely.

And we don't want a BR Remake. It'll suck.

So, who's with me? I'm going to see this opening day. I want this movie to be a successful as possible. And the whole time I'll be shouting "BATTLE ROYALE RIPOFF!"

And for those of you who don't know what Battle Royale is, it's a book about a class that is randomly selected to be put on an island, where they are all given random weapons and forced to kill each other till one is left. It was made inito a film in 1999 in Japan, and a sequel that sucked came out in 2003. The original film was amazing, and the book is perfect. But they're remaking it all gay over here in America.

Good luck to The Condemned. I also hope it sucks.

Well it doesn't look horrible. You're all just so pessimistic because it's a BR ripoff. It actually looks pretty decent.

Though that movie quality and energy concept has been used millions of times, this movie could be practically ****, or complete ****. Let's hope it's practically ****.

As Darky said, it doesn't look horrible, but I doubt it'll be anywhere near the league of the original BR. I may or may not see it, I don't know, but I think Roxas has the best idea. Just go around yelling BR Ripoff the whole time xD

 

...Battle Royale is so much more realistic than this and back then, the idea was very original.

This, however, looks like someone just saw the BR movie and went, "...Hmmm...I'm just going to make a ripoff this movie and make millions! L-O-L!"

I wouldn't watch it. Not worth it. Now if they showed Battle Royale on the screens (doubt it since it was released in 1999), polished it, I would definetely watch it.

 

An Americanised BR huh, so over the top and have a cheesy ending.

The film looks pretty good, but if I didn't know about BR then it would of been a great idea. But is is obviously a rip off, right to exploding tags, which cause more explosion then in BR (so american to do that). I will probably see it, but it doesn't seem that realistic as BR, and won't have the same feel and emotion since A they are all criminals, and B not 15 year old's being forced to kill their friends.

Hollywood cinema obviously missed the point of Battle Royale.

Judging by the trailer, The Condemned seems to want to focus on the action and the 'ruthless killing skill' of these players. The action music, along with the patented narration, just goes to show that they plan to make this more of an action thriller above anything else.

Battle Royale was more sinister and dark film with much more psychological elements in it. It toyed with the innocence of the human mind, the desire to live and the price of survival. It also tested the limits of human insanity and the perseverence of human integrity, and of course, questioned the boundary of what really is considered the 'right' and 'wrong'.

The players in The Condemned are all death-row inmates and ruthless killers, and they're going to let the winner go free? ... Why?

Eff that movie. I'd rather watch Cheaper by the Dozen.

 

It's a ripoff yea, but I'm still gonna see it cause it's got 10 people on an island fighting to the death, what gets better than that?

I'm sitting here, looking down at my BR shirt, lookign at my BR DVDs, the book, the mangas... and I hate myself for it! THIS MOVIE IS GONNA BLOW!!!

But I can't wait for it to come out, seeing as it could be one big lolfest of ripoffness.

dude this sux what a rippoff the remake is gonna suck there is no way u can remake something like that and have it be good there is nowhere to go but down as can be seen in BR2 what a horrible movie a real disgrace for the rest of rest of it

 

worst movie trailer and movie evah! if they were gonna make it BR; it has to stick to the original plot and not some crazy rip-off that is played by adults! that's just wrong sick!
