X-men: Hold fast

Eva ignored Logan, as best she could. "I don't submit well to authority." she smiled, gently tracing on the bed. "Never did....."

 

"Is... is that why you're here?" Jasmine asked. "Did you... do something wrong?"

 

Eva nodded slowly. "I......My gift is a...difficult one." she murmrued. "not as bad as yours."

 

"I've... hurt someone before," Jasmine admitting, wrapping her arms around herself and looking at the floor. "It was an accident..."

 

Saura stood up lazily. "We want her alive, right?" she said, gesturing towards the window and sounding somewhat disappointed. "Shouldn't be a problem for me."

 

Eva smiled, looking at her. "If it was an accident, then you didn't mean to. If you hurt me by accident, I wouldn't care." she grinned. "Accidents happen all the time."

 

Logan stepped forward, his arm stretched out towards the oncoming girl. "You can't be here." he declared in a stern voice. His intimidating technique didn't seem to make the girl slow down.

Wolfe still walked forward, not intending to stop whatsoever. She marched forward, his hand colliding with her shoulder. Logans hand bent back, his face creasing in pain. That's when wolfe stopped, looking down at the hand on her shoulder like a clueless puppy who doesn't know it's own strength.
Not again... Don't happen again... She looked up, her eyes narrowing slightly. She wanted to speak, but her irritation was slowly bubbling into an overgrown temper.

Logan stepped back, bending his hand into shape. "argh...what the hell?" He looked up at the girl, his bent-out metal bones morphing back into shape in seconds.

 

Eva held her hand against her chest. She wasn't going anywhere. "Wolfe!" she smiled.

 

"Logan?" Jasmine spun around, registering the thoughts coming from outside her room. The hostility and confusion made Jasmine anxious.

 

"Don't underestimate her," Jake warned Saura. "She doesn't know how to control her abilities, and that makes her all the more dangerous... and useful to us."

 

Eva stood up, going next to Jasmine. "It's okay, she doesn't mean any harm." Eva murmured. "I sat with her on the plane."

 

"She's upset," Jasmine murmured, her eyes distant, head tilted to one side. "She doesn't want to be here; she wants to be home." She paused, completely lost in Wolfe's thoughts. "'Not again... Don't happen again...'"

 

Eva gently took Jasmine's hand. "Hey. It's okay."

 

Jasmine's eyes snapped back into focus, and she shook her head. She pressed two fingers against her temple, a headache now throbbing. "W-what was that?"

 

Eva smiled, still holding her hand. "It's okay, just stay here with me."

 

Jasmine grimaced at the pain in her head. "But..." Her protest trailed off; there wasn't really anything she could do for Logan.

 

Eva frowned slightly, looking around. "No one else is outside, right?"

 

"We all came inside," Jasmine recalled from earlier that day. She tried to joke, "And I think it's a bit late for anyone to be taking a walk."

 

Eva grinned, listening. "Not for the nocturnals among us."

 

"Wait... what?" Jasmine questioned. "You mean like bats...?" She didn't think that anyone would sleep during the day be active at night.
